I was not born in that era but m a diehard fan of guru dutt sahab and geeta dutt ji
I am a great fan of Geetaji. I am a fan of Guru Duttji as a Director and Actor but not as a man. He caused immense grief to Geetaji by his philandering and he basically spoilt her career by not permitting her to sing in films produced by others. Both of them had sad tragic lives but my sympathies are mostly with Geetaji.

When I was a kid in Malaysia, I was forced to watch tediously dull, singing, dancing Bollywood movies as my lovely mother insisted on it every Saturday for years. Thank goodness she did, because after watching Dawaat el Ishq recently, I've made a complete u-turn as all I wanna watch these days are Bollywood movies. I recently discovered Ms Dutt's voice in Mera Naam Chin Chin Choo in Salaam Bombay. My goodness, Hollywood has got a lot of catching up to do! Amazing movies, breathtaking voices, twist & turn stories, and there's never a dull moment in a Bollywood movie! Thank you, India and thank you, Ms Dutt!
