Grab them at the thrift store. Mine sells them by the pound which is awesome and even though the ends are awful, very often the leather by the buckle (the part I used) is in perfect shape.
Another fantastic tutorial Mark, I don't find the words for express how good your tutorials are. (I hope you can understand my english) When I see your tutorials, my mind can fly. Your creations are unique, different, you deserve millions of followers!!!!! Blessings for you!
Hi Mark! Love the look of these bracelets! They remind of the 70s!I was just a tween ☺ recycled belts are so awesome! They also make great handles and straps for handbags, totes, backpacks... I even made an arrow quiver once and used a belt as an adjustable strap for my best girlfriends grandson. Keep smiling! ❤❤❤ Laura m 🦋

Great way to use the old belts hanging in my closet and good reason for trip to craft store. Love your videos-they are short straight to the point with simple to follow directions!
Oh these are very nice. I have a niece that would love this sort of boho looking cuff. You should make another video showing us how to put the snap on the cuff using the rest of the belt. Thank you for sharing another wonderful idea.
I LOVE those!! And how easy is that?! So many Ideas & different ways to go with these! I am hunting for old belts right now! THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION! This video was just what I needed to kick me in gear LOL
I wish now I’d kept my dad’s old belts! But, I can get some more. Wonderful jewelry project, especially with warmer weather coming up where you want to wear more jewelry on your hands and arms.
Love love love!!! I've made belt bracelets before but never thought to paint them. Do you know how well the paint holds up after we eating? Guess I could put a top coat in them. Thank you for the inspiration, Mark!
I just made a killing on leather belts at the 2nd hand store. I’m glad I found your video. I never thought we could use acrylic paints on leather! Do I need to seal the leather after painting? Will the paint wear off?
Hi Kathryn, this particular paint is special for fabric and leather because it's flexible when it dries. Acrylic paint might flake off. There are lots of leather paints out there!
So, I have a funny Mark Montano DIY story for everyone! Way back in December 2015, Mark did a video on setting a holiday table in pinks and golds. One of the projects were some plates that you can make very simply with glass dinner plates from the dollar store. Basically, you glue an image to the back of the plate, spray paint it and then varnish with Minwax. I did a set of plates just like in the video, a big butterfly in the center and then I used gold spray paint. They came out really well. This was a Christmas present for a friend of mine. Because of busy schedules, I was only able to give to her yesterday. She loved the plates but then she got an embarrassed look on her face. She said, “Ruben and I are going to have to get you ANOTHER Christmas present!” She thought I BOUGHT the plates from a fancy home goods store, like Jonathan Adler or some place like that and she felt awkward because she knows designer plates in stores like that are hundreds of dollars. I said, no, I did not spend hundreds on these plates! I made them! She was so surprised, she couldn’t believe it! I said, but let your dinner guests think they came from the designer store, it’s okay! I’m going to do another set of plates over this weekend but I’m doing theses with Fornasetti images on them. Do you know a set of Fornasetti plates is literally a thousand dollars? I checked. Insane. But, because we are Mark followers, we know how to get the same look for a lot less!
OMG love these, good job Mark. My grandma and I love these, and it's hard to impress navajos with southwestern jewelry 😂 making these asap
Well, now you just made my day! Thank you Jerilyn and big hugs to grandma from me, OK! I miss my gram so much!
You are brilliant, I can't wait to make these...now off to find belts.
