  • Why I chose UCR as a Pre Med student and why I stayed at UCR instead of transferring to UCLA, UCI, or UCSB! I've wanted to make this video for a while to help those considering UCR for their college. I hope that this video helps to make your decision a little bit easier! If there are other videos you'd like to see, leave those suggestions in the comments!

This past fall 2023-2024 admission process I had a 4.4 GPA and a 1420 SAT with solid extra curriculars. I was denied to UCB, UCLA, UCI, UCSD, UCSB. I only got into UCR (and NYU but I am staying in so-cal) as a bioengineering student. Although I am upset about the results of my hard work and dedication after 4 years, watching your video has made me feel better about my future and I hope to enjoy the UCR experience as you did. Thank you

Hi!! Currently dealing with a super similar situation. I'm a current 1st year Bio premed student at UC Merced and am going through the transfer process to transfer to other UC's (including UCR) for Fall 2024. The reason why I'm transferring is that UCM was not the right fit for me, I'm further away from my family and they don't have my desired major (neuroscience). I'm junior standing which means my credits have me considered to be a junior which made me qualify for being a transfer and have done pretty decent extracurriculars this year. Since the 3rd week of April 2024 is when most of the transfer decisions come back, I just wanted to know on a separate video if you can explain how you did your UC to UC transfer process and what were your stats/extracurriculars/picking major choices when you got into schools like UCLA and SB. Also, what was ur pre-med journey like at UCR especially if you didn't take the MCAT. Super helpful vid especially for UC permeds! Congrats on med school!
