Just finished binge watching this show! I can’t believe it stopped at five seasons. The writing and acting….the characters, the history the scenery are so fantastic! Wish there were more like this one!
Anson Mount is a hell of an actor-he does a lot of communication with his eyes: When he's drunk at the bar and he looks up with those deadened eyes, you see this defeated man who had everything taken from him, who wants to give up, yet you see this anger and rage behind his eyes, and he just wants to explode and go off. An actor that can give that sort of emotion with just his eyes alone is a true actor indeed.
CashandMe1 Yeah! I mean, if there was ever an actor who portrays a man on a mission of vengeance, with that blood lust look in his eyes, it's this guy. He looks at the viewer in that certain way sometimes, and you see he has a burning rage underneath everything. They couldn't have gotten a better guy to do this role!
Claudette Perry if you’re looking for a new show to watch I’d highly recommend the series justified. It’s a modern day western. Six seasons with fantastic performances, terrific writing and masterful performances. Binged it in 3 weeks and was absolutely stunned by it.
@@bennettfender1546 yep, although that last episode couldve been 30mins longer or it needed a tv movie epilogue.. I loved Mei's character so much, to not see the resolution of Bohannon finding her in China was sad.. But all in all, excellent ending
Hugh Jackman was linked with that role for a while along with Maisie Williams (Arya, game of thrones) was linked with Ellie. The film don't look likely to happen now.
Rdr2 you can make him in online or story just not his gun in story mode in my opinion he is nore arthur than john but he should be john because john survives red dead 2 while arthur dies of tuberculosis
It's 2023 and just binge-watched 'Hell on Wheels and going through for the 2nd time. I'm really behind the eight ball, but often the best things are saved for last. It's a classic. Anson Mount is perfection in the part, it was just waiting for him. He's brings a new meaning to laconic and phelgmatic, maybe this comes from his original Tennessee background? Spare with words is an understatement. Totally agree with Kainnosgoth that he uses his eyes brilliantly to express and extend a great deal of his emotional range. I loved his early comment to Lily Bell that he thought she was just some "spoilt Limey brat"! Being of English birth, I got that and chuckled! My total admiration goes to the screen writers and creators. What imaginations. The cavalcade of characters, the exposure of the very primitive living conditions, hygiene and medicine, no health and safety, the limited life and medical dangers of being a prostitute in these temporary camps, it's all there mixed in the dough. and so much moor. I was a history teacher in British Schools and where suitable for the class concerned, would have played some parts as a learning extension. I had to look up a few of the expressions for myself eg "have you seen the elephant"? And, what was "old whores' disease" that some poor girl was suffering from at the tender age of 19. Apart from the numerous STD's that were around could it have been endometriosis? I have a reasonable knowledge of the chronology and battles of the The American Civil War so I was not as puzzled by the references to some of these ie Antietam and could position everthing in context. I just take my hat off to the team, writers, actors, and every one of you, including the people who mixed the mud - most realistic mud I have ever seen, and kept the shirts nice and dirty!! However, one thought that refuses to leave my mind is how Cullen Bohannan must have smelt - absolutely rancid considering his brief acquaintance with baths, rather than a head dunk in a tub of cold water. And did he give head lice to the angelic-looking Mrs Lily Bell...............
Brilliant brilliant series, just completed it ✌🏾 Can't believe this dude isn't far bigger than he is. Amazing leading man. Hell on wheels is brilliantly written. Common is outstanding also, was a shame to lose him. Knew nothing about this series at the time.
Hell On Wheels is one of my favorite series and one of the best westerns ever made. Anson Mount does it brilliant as a very dark character, and is very different when he's not acting.
Binge watched. Fantastic show. Anson Mount is a great actor and producer. Loved everything about it. Every actor on that show was perfectly cast and did a fantastic job. Christopher Heyerdahl was amazing, loved hating him. Hell on Wheels cast incredible. Too bad there are not enough Oscars to go around. I totally fell in love with Cullen Bohannon. The writers, producers, directors, cameramen, the editors, the extras, soundtrack, and even the animals all deserve recognition for the wonderful work. Sorry that the series has ended I am going into withdrawal.
Soo ive just finished watching this on amazon... absolutely loved it, i wished it never ended such a great cast and for some reason it took me back to my childhood, watching old westerns on tv with my dad... absolutely amazing!
A WONDERFULL, WONDERFULL, WONDERFULL SERIES, ON EACH EPISODES THEY HAVE ME IN COMPLETE SUSPENCE EVERY DAY, IT WAS JUST A MAGNIFICENT SERIES EVER I LOVE IT ❤ AND WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT THIS HANDSOME ACTOR, ANSON MOUNT, GUAPISIMO, WOW !!!!!!!!!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
It's not that it's not real, he obviously has a bit of a Southern accent in this video, you can hear it clear as glass, it's just that he exaggerates it more in the show, which makes sense seeing as how his character is from Mississippi.
Hell on Wheels, pour moi certainement l'une des plus belle série jamais réalisée.Casting, images, caractères, les costumes,l'histoire, les musiques, le montage etc...Bravo, oui pour encore dix années en plus !!!
This was a good series. There were some obvious historical inaccuracies. Immediately notable to me was the misplacement of the Cheyenne. The series began in Council Bluffs, IA, and soon took up in Douglas County, Nebraska (present day Omaha area). They mentioned being 500 miles distant from the Rockies, and having encounters with Cheyenne. In that area, the indigenous tribes would have been Winnebago, Omaha, Otoe, and maybe Pawnee. It would have been interesting to see the depiction of the bridge construction across the Missouri River. The Missouri was a far more difficult river to bridge than the Mississippi, even though it's considerably narrower. The Missouri is deeper, swifter, and has a much muddier bed. At that time, it was considered a nearly impossible feat of engineering. The series did a very good job of conveying the mafia-like nature of the UPRR. It's no small wonder that Omaha, the railroad's headquarters, would become a dangerous, lawless place and would remain so until the 1930's. Prohibition era Chicago had nothing on Omaha. In fact, the Chicago Outfit tried to muscle the Omaha rackets. They got a lot of dead bodies and no piece of the action for their trouble.
I hope Anson takes on more movies like Hell On Wheels. He is a great actor in that type of role. I move him to the top of the western type actors. Hell on Wheels squeal or another venture.
The best tv serie, ever.. Great cast... I hope more seasons...but in all Western.. You dont see... The hole story.. When people left, europe, scandinavia, germany, poland, italy..Irland, central europe.. And Then The story continue..
Got into HoW later but I've made up for it! Love me some Cullen Bohannon! and he just finished Star Trek Discovery on cbsallaccess in the US & netflix everywhere else. He play Capt Christopher Pike. AMAZING job!
A wonderful actor aside from the fact he gets more gorgeous as he gets older. I am going to watch other venues he was in now. I love the fact he taught acting at Columbia university as I teach the art of voice technique. I wonder why he has no children to pass on those wonderful genes

Hell on Wheels was one of the best tv shows I’ve ever seen, just great. Still though, I can’t see him with short hair and no beard haha it’s a good look, keep it growing Anson, keep it growing.
You look so different with short hair looks better long. You are a very attractive man. And a southern boy Im from the south too. ty for hell on wheels great show.
Vanessa Aguila just as we are hooked onto the show, it gets pulled from under you. I love the last seasons for sure. Lily was prettier than Naomi and Mei is good for him after he lost his son. It is tragic he won't get to raise the child and be part of his life. He has the potential to be a great family man. He should shave when he gets to China. This story will continue in fan fiction I hope..
Dude. As someone who also likes writing, please, for the love of the almighty Publishers, change that name. Seriously. The publishers would just laugh, and if it did get published, you'd end up with a lot of "bush" jokes, if you know what I mean. It would only be acceptable to name a character such if it was some kind of nickname, and even then you'd need a reason why it was given.

Which is probably why he was cast as the silent King Black Bolt in Marvel's Inhumans TV series.
Then when he see Mia is a female the look on his face was priceless!! He nailed this role!!
Binge watching this right now. Don't know why I waited so long to watch. Great show
Same here, back then all I cared for was the walking dead. I can’t believe it has taken me this long to watch such a great show

God I love him so much. He's one hell of an actor and he is honestly sooo heart meltingly good looking. I could watch him all day.
If they ever make the Last of Us movie, this is the man to play Joel right here.

Yes I think so too, but unfortunately Henry Cavil will play Geralt.

I think he has a look that could work for that role for sure, I don't think his voice would fit all that well though.
He'd make a perfect John Marston if they ever made a Red Dead movie

He'd be perfect for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid movie. Idk why they're gonna be casting Oscar Isaac.

He actually played RDR to study for this character because he is heavily based on John marston
