As he mentioned we can't type initials in first name or in surname, the only place where you can write is under middle name, also surname is mandatory, if you have passport with expanded initials as surname like K - Kannan, then you can update the same as surname in pan card, and to link with aadhar card, you also need to update the same name in aadhar card.. Like Stalin M should be written as Stalin Muthuvel

@@aspirant4478 if your name is B Kartik, in passport you need to expand B as surname, and Kartik in given name, if your name in pan card and aadhar card matches as B Kartik and you are able to link it then it is fine..
To my knowledge there is no need to expand in intials in Aadaar for Pan linking.It works even if it is expanded in PAN.I have done 5 of family members without any issue.
