The animator, Vince Collins, helped me a little when I asked him in the comments of his original video that is elsewhere on youtube. Basically he was a man who worked for a video production company, and was friends with the Vince. Vince asked him to write a song for the animations, and he came back a week later with this song. I think this is his only non-ragtime song, which is sad, but luckily, according to Vince, and some ragtime websites, he is not dead, and lives in San Francisco. And white pages shows a Lewis Mortisher as alive and living in San Fransisco at age 65, which puts him at 34 when this was produced.
