I used to do early mornings from 6am-6pm. After like 10am things start to pick up but before that it’s just small Starbucks orders and stuff. Big bucks with bigger order total usually. I picked up a catering order up at 7am once and had to set it up🫠 I was not awake enough for that but got a healthy $50 tip
Got a stack last night, Perkins and Panda Express, $62, only $8 tip. Uber's system freaks out when it thinks nobody is going to pick up orders and tacks on huge amounts of base pay.

I grew up in New York, and when I started driving obviously pumped my own gas. Then we moved to my husbands home state where houses were more affordable relatively speaking, of course. I cannot tell you the last time I have pumped gas. So it is so weird to see you at Wawa pumping your own gas. 😂 no I rarely get my gas at Wawa. It’s usually like $.20 more than this other place near me that used to be a shell. And it’s even closer than the Wawa, which is 1.2 miles away. (of course I have one about just a couple points of a mile over that in the other direction too along with quick check in between. 😂

This is my experience in Doordash. I drop off lunch in the hospital. I park in the main lobby illegally (drop off parking) and the customer still in the elevator. and never give me any cent of tips, can you imagine a NURSE? and I have to call her 2x bc I park illegally. and I will not pay parking just for her that cost me $10 and I only get paid $ 8 for that food delivery. I cannot believe these people at all. They don't have any mercy on the driver or think. How in the world she will park here . She knows that, either you pay for the parking or park Illegally. I am not supposed to walk to the hospital lobby and leave my Car outside in the drop off area. But I have no choice . DoorDash should mandate a tip for $3-5 tip for the drivers per delivery
For the first year I dashed, most of the time I spent was LATE night. My gf and I both lived with our parents and she had a curfew so I had to be out of her house by 11 but I wasn’t tired so I dashed from 11 to as late as 2 some nights and it was honestly where I made most of my money
Some mornings it is, and some its not! Somtimes clearning 64 dollars in 2 hrs and just today getting a uber eats order for 10 dollars 1.5 miles... Ussualy on avg the morning shift is ok if u are in a busy zone! Catering orders rock in the morning if u can get em!
I dont live in a big city, That being said i always start at 6am when i dash. The reason i start at 6am and not earlier is nothing is open until 6am. I will be non stop orders from 6am until 830 to 9am when it will slow down until lunch rush around 11am. Population my area is only around 80K so not a big city (its actually a combination of 3 towns in 1 zone for DD in my area) I also love the early morning times No Traffic.
Sorry for the slow start. That may have been me if this was on 5/20. Had to drop my wife off at the doc very early and was going to be a few hours. So I decided to dash instead of sit and wait.
When I had jet lag after coming back from the Philippines I was highly thinking of doing this, but I didn’t like the possibility of just only going to 5 restaurants for 4 hours.
I get a $10.00 / 2.5 mile delivery 7 items.. I get to the restauant / pickup they hand me one item and tell me they forgot it in the 7 items delivery that was already picked up! I asked if they contacted the customer.. “no” I should have just walked out!! but business is so slow right now? I took the item in my car and called the customer.. no answer.. I realize I had just been screwed! I delivered and called uber.. I got $2.50 for the delivery of the one item. ( customer did pull the tip-can’t blame them.. tip twice? I don’t think so ) I called the restaurant and they said uber allows them to do this? there are so many ways a driver can get screwed working for uber!!
@@traveljb - Actually the light should go off in a day. If it doesn't, one of the sensors is bad. Discount tire can find the bad one. It'll set ya back about $60 to replace it tho. My tire light has been on for over two years. Not able to shell out a days pay to fix it.

Same here. I Dashed from 530 - 8am yesterday. Then had a 2 hour block running Whole Foods groceries on Amazon Flex. It was a money morning!

I do Uber Eats and DoorDash overnight in Dallas, Texas. I live in Downtown Dallas. Most everything is open all night.

Unless you're in the heart of NYC or Chicago there's nothing from 4:00am to 8am , it's very hard to get orders

This is the only way to make really good money and not have To drive dinner rush. It’s hard to get to but definitely worth it.
If you’re gonna do a 4 shift you should do 6 AM - 10 AM
