  • Pink noise can help you relax and get some sleep, and may alleviate the effects of tinnitus (in fact, I have personally used this sound for help with my tinnitus flare-ups, and found it to be incredibly helpful). Enjoy, and rest well.

    ⚠️ 𝗗𝗜𝗗 𝗔𝗡 𝗔𝗗 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗬 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗜𝗗𝗗𝗟𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗩𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗢?
    If so, I'm sorry that happened. I know it's awful to be startled by a mid-roll ad. I have them disabled on all of my content, but RUclips has a confirmed bug that causes them to play for some viewers anyway. It's not just my channel - this has been a problem across the entire platform since at least mid-2022. RUclips's engineers know about the bug and what causes it to happen, but unfortunately, they have not provided any information about when (or if) they will fix it.
    The bug tends to manifest as a 30-second mid-roll ad played around the 6-hour mark, and it disproportionately affects iPhone and iPad users. I have been investigating this for a very long time, and I go into more detail about my findings here: ruclips.net/video/ndeUVgZMh1Y/видео.html
    If you are affected by the bug but still want to access my content, I recommend that you view this video's description and try one of the alternatives I have provided, such as Spotify or Rumble. If you want to stay on RUclips, you'll find that I have live stream versions of my most popular content, and they tend to be safe from the bug - but not always.
    The only guaranteed way to never get ads on RUclips is to subscribe to RUclips Premium, which I understand is not an option for everyone. As it turns out, the reason I have the luxury of disabling ads everywhere RUclips will let me is because my channel makes the vast majority of its revenue from RUclips Premium. I have reviewed my analytics data and it appears that RUclips does not compensate me for the mid-roll ads in question, which I suspect is because their systems cannot reconcile the fact that a mid-roll ad played even though I have them disabled.
    You are welcome to reply to this comment with information about what happened to you, but at this point, we have a pretty solid understanding of what's going on and are just hoping it will be fixed. Historically, it helped when viewers would list what type of device they were on, which app or browser was being used, the approximate timestamp of when the ad played, and what company/product/service the ad was for.
    I appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter, and I'm sorry there isn't more I can do.

    what I love about pink noise is how many things I can imagine it being
    static on a tv, the air conditioner in a hotel room, a pressure washer, a hairdryer, a rainstorm, being at the beach on a windy day

    I am 52 years old and have struggled with getting to sleep, staying asleep and sleeping peacefully, since I was at least 7 years old. Childhood trauma leaves it’s scars, and believe me when I say I have tried my best to continue to find a solution! Pink noise is giving me more natural relief than anything ever has. It’s amazing and also, it’s important to note that I have impaired hearing, lost 50% of lower tones in both ears.

    • @DJGrossman
      @DJGrossman  Год назад +3

      I'm sorry for your struggles (and the cause of them 😟), but I'm happy to hear that pink noise has helped bring you some peace. Pink noise does have more energy in the lower frequencies, so perhaps in your case that counteracts some of the hearing loss and makes the noise sound evenly-distributed across the spectrum. 🤔

      The September 11 attacks, commonly known as 9/11,[e] were four coordinated Islamist suicide terrorist attacks carried out by Al-Qaeda against the United States on September 11, 2001. That morning, 19 terrorists hijacked four commercial airliners scheduled to travel from the East Coast to California. The hijackers crashed the first two planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, two of the world's five tallest buildings at the time, and aimed the next two flights toward targets in or near Washington, D.C., in an attack on the nation's capital. The third team succeeded in striking the Pentagon, the headquarters of the U.S. Department of Defense in Arlington County, Virginia, while the fourth plane crashed in rural Pennsylvania during a passenger revolt. The September 11 attacks killed 2,977 people, making them the deadliest terrorist attack in history, and instigated the multi-decade global war on terror, fought in Afghanistan, Iraq, and elsewhere.

      @@jallisonh28 Huh, that's weird. To be honest, I don't check out the "competition" much, so I don't know what all is going on. I see a lot of trashy channels popping up and stealing ideas to make a quick buck, but I don't want to get involved with that crowd - unless they try to pretend they're me, then we have a problem!
      To your point though, I did the research and can guarantee that what I've posted is what I say it is... with one exception. The one called "White Noise" is more of a soft brown noise, but I only did that because a lot of people think all background static noise is just called white noise, and that's what they go searching for. So hey, at least they find something nice, even though it's technically not accurate. 🤷‍♂

    Wanted to jump on and say thank you for your channel! Not only is it my goto for meditation, but it was really clutch when my office experienced a power outage, and our noise machines didn't work. I was still able to have therapy with one of your white noise vids playing on my cell by the door, and my client's privacy was protected. Thank you! Much appreciated. ❤

    I have two year twins and a 7 month old. I’ve use this since my twins were about 8 months old. It has helped them and even myself sleep so much. One of my twins has autism and it’s very hard for her to calm down this always helps her relax and get ready for sleep. I actually started getting sleep once I started playing this nightly.

      @@DJGrossman I loved your explanation regarding why "brown noise" is called as such. I am curious as to the reason "pink noise" is called, 'pink noise.' Thank you so very much in advance for any answers! The past three nights, I've experimented using your white noise video w/black screen; last night, I tried the brown noise (also black screen) and tonight I'm going for the pink! Much love & thanks :) Peace

    • @DJGrossman
      @DJGrossman  2 года назад +1

      @@RandomChristianMusings Hi there, and thanks for the kind words!
      The colors of noise are named according to a loose analogy to the visible light spectrum. It's not an exact science at all. Brown is a peculiar example because according to the spectrum, it's actually red, but because it's generated with Brownian motion, someone just called it brown and it stuck because brown is a color and fits in with the colors theme they've got going on.
      The funny thing about pink noise is that there's no such thing as pink light, so I'm not sure what they were doing there. 😂
      The second paragraph of this article on Wikipedia goes into more detail: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colors_of_noise
      "The practice of naming kinds of noise after colors started with white noise, a signal whose spectrum has equal power within any equal interval of frequencies. That name was given by analogy with white light, which was (incorrectly) assumed to have such a flat power spectrum over the visible range. Other color names, such as pink, red, and blue were then given to noise with other spectral profiles, often (but not always) in reference to the color of light with similar spectra."
