Nice! I've had two DRZ-400s and they are a riot to ride, my favorite bike for ease of maintenance and soft enough to ride all day. Kenda K270 tires make it a decent off road machine. Many thanks for sharing.
So, what I told you was true... from a certain point of view. It's all about perspective. Your biking adventure mentions lead me to guess you normally ride dirt bikes. From that perspective, a DRZ400 with road waffles and tall gearing would be everything you say. From a street bike, or even an "adventure" bike perspective, it's a very dirt looking dual sport. With the majority of my seat time on a Shadow 700 and a TW200, and just getting into a DRZ400S I find it funny to hear the DRZ400 called "more street", underpowered, etc. Beautiful ride and great skill. I'm glad you made it out. Thank you for sharing!
I love how you basically rode that DRZ like the heaviest mountain bike (engine off) ever made down the trail! You are brave sir! I love my DRZ but I'm not good at pushing it around when I get stuck. That would be a great video idea for you! Techniques on how to get your bike out of different situations...???
Would love to see the footage of getting through the complicated stuff. GJ on the ride though. I out my dual sport klx through Enduro singletrack and climb things that most people wouldn't dare even consider.
I’m honestly not sure what you mean. I went down this trail pretty far. The bike was running terrible so eventually I turned back but not before going down a long section of trail that most people wouldn’t try on their lightweight enduro.
If I fly out to Idaho and rent a bike will you tour me around? I'm a Gold class hard enduro racer and fast B in hare scrambles i say that just to say you won't have to babysit me.
Yeah, I am open to going riding! The Forest Service are salivating when you say “touring” because they are itching to sue me. We can go for a ride, for sure! Just shoot me an email.
The DRZ is definitely geared more towards the road, but is a very capable bike. Thought about picking one up in the future. Only have ever ridden friends. Another great ride bud.
@@RacerRed I rode a buddy's 1250GS on single track one time. That was a pain in the ass. KLR is definitely the biggest I'd want to do it on but I recently swapped my KLR for a DRZ

This wasn't me riding! I wish I was that good!
Man, you make it look easy! Nice riding!

@@RacerRed I mean I just wanted to see the rest. Nothing else
Smart move never Ride alone!
Excuse Me!!! The DRZ400S is 319lbs wet. If u over estimated the weight of a KTM or woman by 30lbs there would be domestic violence charges LOL.
Great video...curious about what pipe you're using? thank you!
I have a Yoshimura exhaust which came on the bike when I bought it used
Thanks!
Them telling you they dont recommend it and you hearing I gotta try it haha. Stay safe
Well, it sounded like a good idea until my bike started sputtering and popping. lol

What app are you using for the trail?
I use OnX Off-road. Use code “racerred” and you’ll get 20% off!

Do single track on a KLR for a few years. It'll make your DRZ feel like a mountain bike
There’s always a bigger, heavier, lard! Some dudes ride giant KTM adventure bikes on single track too.
