When IBKR pays net 3.83% on USD cash held in trust, the bonds ETF yield do not look so attractive unless we expect capital appreciation from the bonds on top of the yield (which is subject to 30% withholding tax)
Hi there! Accumulating ETFs wont distribute dividends yeah, they reinvest at their fund level and increase their net asset value, hence the increase in share price and capital gains for us
Hi, i thought Ireland has just changed the tax law last year that US domiciled in Ireland is now subjected to 41% tax. It has also introduced other taxes that I now deemed Ireland domiciled stocks / ETFs are no longer investable . Pls correct me if my information is wrong
Hi Chee Meng, thats incorrect ya, its applicable to PTPs only, please refer this video for more info: ruclips.net/video/GlzPdGomvYI/видео.html Hope this clarifies
Hi JJ, i dont think there's any exact ones, but you may look at the iShares USD Treasury Bond 7-10yr UCITS ETF (IBTM) that invests in U.S. Treasury bonds, although with a shorter duration. For a broader exposure, there is the iShares USD Treasury Bond 20+yr UCITS ETF (IDTL). But not exact TLT replica!
Hello ziet... What brokers you are using right now and how many brokers you are using since we know that SIPC only covers up $250.000 worth of cash and $250.000 worth of stocks. I saw Kelvin learns investing gportfolio is all in one broker which is IBKR. Sometimes I am afraid that broker will go bust and they only cover us $250.000 worth of stocks. What do you think about this?
one thing no one talks about and i think is the most confusing is, why a 5-7 year etf treasury bond yields 2% while bonds of that duration are at almost 5%?
@@ZietInvests I think you didnt understand the question, I am comparing TREASURY bond ETFs like the $IEF 7-10 year bonds with a 10 year bond. The 10 year bond has a yield currently of 3.95% while the $IEF has 3.63% SEC yield. Shouldn't the spread between the two be smaller? Why would someone hold the ETF instead of the BOND, is it an issue with liquidity if you want to sell early?
could you please share the Ireland Domiciled ETF equivalent to VGSH (Vanguard Short-Term Treasury Index Fund ETF) I found IBTS, correct me if I'm wrong

Agree, it's not an attractive proposition at all for growth - perhaps capital preservation, or heck even money market fund could outperform them :)
Do you mean you get interest simply by keeping cash in your IBKR account?
@@jeremychoo7343 Yes, but 3.83% is for US$100k cash. Less money less interest proportionally.
@@eduardo33 cash or NAV?
Great video! I like your tables, very clear!
Do you know when the distributing aspect add on in the accumulating ETFs?
Hi there! Accumulating ETFs wont distribute dividends yeah, they reinvest at their fund level and increase their net asset value, hence the increase in share price and capital gains for us
this was very educational

@@ZietInvests thanks.
How about the new PTP witholding tax apply to these ETFs? Especially these US-domiciled ETFs?
Will be covered this coming Wednesday yea!
@@ZietInvests thanks. Maybe explore buying Canadian-equivalent (otc) if this viable to avoid ptp taxes?
Can you please talk about dividends us ETFs domiciled in Ireland?

one thing no one talks about and i think is the most confusing is, why a 5-7 year etf treasury bond yields 2% while bonds of that duration are at almost 5%?
treasury bonds are of the lowest risk, hence the lowest risk, while the "bonds of that duration" could be a junk bond or lower grade bonds

True, got to make the most out of it!
Why do they all have negative returns?🥲
Bonds underperform when stocks are outperforming 😬 try looking at their latest fact sheet, should be much higher YTD/ 1Y
