- My girlfriend and I went down to florence alabama to visit some family and explore the town in June. Then recently in July my buddy and I went down to take the exploring a little further with a 8 hour canoe trip along with slacklining and rope swinging off the yellow creek waterfall on the tennessee river. It was a Blast!
great video guy's. I was born and raised on shoals creek and had to move to priceville right before my senior year 1982. I still have family there though and I love to go back when I can. once shoals always shoals !!!
Awesome Video!! Captured the beauty of this place well. I love living 8 minutes from the River and TVA trails!
My hometown.....Waterloo & Florence. No better country anywhere!
Florence is where I was born, raised and still live. I have lived in other places as an adult and I can say good job on this video because this is how we live and as far as living in crime and concrete and all the other problems that arise you can have it. Visit here once and you would call it Sweet Home Alabama too.
Thank you for the video, my family is moving to Alabama from Washington st. at the start of 2014 and this give me hope for living in Alabama. If we happen to meet around town the beer is on me. ;)
So it’s been 3 years since your family moved here and I’m just now reading these comments, did you make it? Do you like it?
Thanks guys. I love it over there in florence. Im from near atlanta so its super nice to go and visit and get away from this city. and that 245 location is near fort payne. I'm not sure of the actual name.
My hometown. Great job.
i like the video Alex
Factory Creek? Looks familiar
I lived there for four years and haven't been back in a while. Where is that place with the live music at the very end?
Was reading this interview, and stumbled across your video looking to see what Florence looked like. Looked damn good to me. bittersoutherner.com/patterson-hood-bitter-southerner-interview-drive-by-truckers#.V-qduZMrI1g
And where is that around the 2:45 mark?
Liked this video. If you' like reading about this area try my book entitled "The Secret Of Whippoorwill Hollow" set in Sheffield, Al. (available on Amazon)
