I also took the FL 2-15 Life Insurance test and passed 2 weeks ago. The company I interiviewed with stopped at the last minute. They wouldn't tell me why. That's why I'm self learning all the other tests. I'm getting some traction with other companies, so something will open up for me.

Synonymous? No. They don't mean the same thing. IRR and NPV are important variables of the T.V. of M.

The word discount in DCF is the whole point of the DCF model. DCF models are used for just a plethora of financial models, not just fixed income.

It is an analysis tool to determine a fair price for a security (usually a bond) based on a future income stream.
