Can you recommend the names / models of high quality, industrial line scan cameras ? which should be able to inspect even very small text clearly during stiching.

      Great question!
As a software manufacturer, we prefer not to make hardware recommendations.
Line scan cameras often have higher resolution in the width and therefore wider sensors than area scan cameras, which can cause image quality problems if the optics are not designed for them.
Therefore, special lenses are available that are optimized for specific line scan cameras.
For example, these lenses take into account the size of the sensor.
They are also often designed to minimize optical distortion in the direction of the sensor.
In some cases, it may not be necessary to use a special lens for your line scan camera, but this needs to be evaluated for your specific application.
We recommend that you contact the manufacturer of your line scan camera for a recommendation on which optics to use.
We hope that helps! Best, your MVTec team
