I can never get tired of chicken wings.. hot wings is one of my go to foods while on keto. I bake mine though. Def gonna have to try cooking the wings this way next time
Love chicken wings and can't wait to try this recipe. On a side note, I finally ordered the Ketogenic Diet Cookbook. I have so many recipes marked to try that I can't wait. Thanks for all the great things you do for us!
I just use one that I got from the USA. I think you can just use dried lemon zest, pepper, salt, garlic powder and you should be able to replicate it. The one I use does have sugar but it works out to adding just 2 carbs to the entire recipe so I don't bother about that sugar.
@@HeadbangersKitchen I read that EVOO is a polyunsaturated fat, making it potentially dangerous to fry with. Were they incorrect? I've tried using lard too but both of these have a pretty low smoking point.
Light olive oil has a smoke point of 460F, so you can fry with it. I use a mix of avocado and coconut in my fryer and keep it at 350F and it does great. Lard, or manteca in the latin aisle, is good too. No Crisco (it's vegetable shortening) or vegetable/seed/bean oils.
Heyy.. Can you please tell me if Indian spices like chilli powder, coriander powder , garam masala have carbs? I checked on Google and it said 1 tablespoon chilli powder has 8 grams carbs
All spices have some carbs. I find that my life is too short to count them so I don't. Either way I don't use that much spice in my dishes that it will affect my macros in a significant way.
Sara, my life is too short to care about that. I generally add 1 tbsp are a general figure. If you want you can weigh the oil before frying and weigh it again after frying and check the difference in weight. You can also weigh the paper towel before and after using it to drain the oil from the chicken that way you'll have an accurate measurement. My life though, so too short to do that :P
Sahil, I tried to comment on "collapse of humanity". The computer would not let me, so I will comment here. Love the technical work on this album. The drummer was supperb. Of course I love the growl. The chicken looks good too! C from the haunted cottage in Ireland 👻👻👻⚰️⚰️⚰️
Thank you so much Annett. If you like you can listen to the entire album on demonstealer.bandcamp.com and I have cds/boxsets/tshirts on www.redwolf.in/demonstealer thanks once again.
One of the things I like about your videos is that they show how simple and "normal" it can be to prepare good food👍. Just a question. What do you do with the oil mixture once cooking is done?
Thank you! I just strain the oil mixture and use it over the course of the next few days while cooking other things. I try and use as little oil as possible when deep frying and it's one of the reason I don't really like deep frying things on a regular basis. I do it once in a while.
No pun intended but I just 'wing' it :D but on a more serious note I think think video I used just olive oil not ghee. I use ghee for anything that has Indian flavours as I don't fancy the flavour of ghee with most western dishes. I also throw in bacon fat sometimes if I have enough in the fridge. You could also use lard. It really depends on how accessible these are to you. I would say even duck fat or goose fat is good.
Headbanger's Kitchen yeah I’ve noticed you use those oils 😂 just was curious of the deep fry oils. But thank you so much for taking your time to respond to me!! I love your meals😁 I lost about 30pounds!! Thought I couldn’t do it but your recipe doesn’t make it feel like I’m on a diet! 🙌🏻💯

@@HeadbangersKitchen thank you so much, i was so worried. And you're are right, life is too damn short to count carbs in spices. I won't worry about it now
Hey Sweta, I am using fresh cream only. I say whipping because most of my audience is from outside India and none of them understand what 'fresh cream' is. They get whipping cream or double cream hence I mention that. So go ahead and use fresh cream. Also I've made chicken nuggets. For chicken popcorn, it's the same thing, just roll into balls. Here is the video: ruclips.net/video/SDize538kBc/видео.html
I wish you would just buy a scale Kathleen :) it's time Americans moved away from measuring broccoli in cups. :) The truth is cup measures vary across the world so it would make sense to buy a small kitchen scale because it's more accurate and you can get one that lets you weigh in grams as well as oz. It will make your life easier :)
Chef John has done oven baked that were crispy. I think he used baking powder on the wings and let them sit a bit before baking. That said, frying is more consistent, IMO. They say peanut oil is best, I use canola. Olive oil is expensive here as is ghee and olive oil doesn't have as high a smoke point the other two. Anyway, I like your recipe. It's fast simple and tastes good.
Yeah I think I've watched a ton of his recipes as well. Well the issue is we want to avoid peanut oil, canola oil and other hydrogenated oils on Keto. If you fry wings like once a month in that it won't kill you but it's best avoided. Also there is a special olive oil for cooking which I use and lard and bacon fat or duck fat are other great options.
@@HeadbangersKitchen I fry for others in the family. I don't use the fryer for myself 99% of the time. I usually use olive oil (the real thing, but that's another subject) and/or butter. I used to save bacon fat. Haven't in a while. Great for making eggs and pancakes of any kind. Haven't tried lard or duck fat yet. What I like to do is bake bacon on Sunday morning and then season chicken thighs with indian seasonings and bake them in the same pan after I am done baking the bacon. It's quite good.

Mix of olive oil and ghee.

If you're in the US, Buffalo Wild Wings uses beef tallow to fry theirs! Although I'm bad and usually go to Wing Stop because they taste better 😋

I have been cooking with avocado oil recently- Will try frying these in some- I love me some wings!
Hey, it'd be great if you could add the link for the lemon pepper seasoning or tell me the brand name if possible?
Hi can u make video on how to make lemon pepper seasoning
It's usually available in the spice aisle in the grocery store. Just watch out for added sugar
I just use one that I got from the USA. I think you can just use dried lemon zest, pepper, salt, garlic powder and you should be able to replicate it. The one I use does have sugar but it works out to adding just 2 carbs to the entire recipe so I don't bother about that sugar.
Thanks😊
Blue vein cheese mixed with sour cream would be a delicious accompaniment to those wings!
Where are you getting the 1g of carb for the wing? Is it from the seasoning? Because the chicken itself shouldn't have any carbs right?
Yes Roberto, it's the seasoning. I have one from America that has some sugar in it.
@@HeadbangersKitchen good to know! I'll make sure yo look for some without sugar. Thank you!
Yeah if you can find one, nothing like it!
3 days in to keto..and 1 hit work out, these recipes are gonna be gold😁
Wing you over... 😂
What kind of oil did you use to fry the wings? I'm told not to use vegetable oils and I'm having trouble finding something to deep fry in.
You can fry in lard or Crisco (if you live in America) not sure if they have Crisco outside of America.
@@givememore4free please no Crisco, it is vegetable oil. Lard or coconut oil
