I have American made les Paul's and strats. I took a Chance on aio wolf and bought an s1 based on one of your reviews. It is now my number 1. I plan to buy more of their guitars. Hey I’ve been following Mac since 2017 since my WOLF LP and found your Fesley LP review the other day! Thanks for the Fesley info!! Cool to see you and max crossing paths!!!
Hey, Max! It was posted on July 24, 2024. You might want to add it to your list of interviews. I have an abiding respect for A.I.O. ever since I caught your interview with the big boss at their store. It’s the kind of thing I will never forget. Serious dude. I remember he personally double checks every single guitar after his people have finished setting them up. All of them. That’s amazing; to be the one guy who says, “If you own an AIO, I saw it, I touched it, and it’s set up exactly my way. I approved THAT guitar myself.” Hell of a thing, Max. I don’t know of anybody else who can do and say that. That’s some serious culturally inherent, unrelenting pursuit of perfection and reputation. So if anybody has a complaint, they would talk to THAT guy. All In One. Now THAT’s cool!
I wasn't aware of AIO guitars. Rather than shelling out a ridiculous amount for a Gibson Les Paul, I picked up a Hagstrom Swede. I'm extremely happy with it. I'll have to try an AIO. Thanks for introducing this brand!
Bottom line- this video SOLD me ! I talked to Jin today and they are going to install my wiring harness and pickups as well for a small fee. This is my 1st "new" guitar ever as it's my retirement present to myself. Thank you for a great channel/page/show....whatever you kids call all this RUclips stuff- I love it !

Damn right it is, the profit margin reality check was a long time coming. It's a flood now, for wader birds, tyre-kickers and guitarists . Don't forget, though, they're easy to buy, but hard to sell.
11:04 There are two types of potentiometers normally used in guitars; logarithmic, (A) and linear (B). Logarithmic pots offer a smooth taper, as the knob is turned. Linear pots have a larger “fall off”. You have to turn the knob more, to notice effect. As for large vs. small potentiometers; large pots have a slightly larger sweep due to their diameter. The biggest difference is their construction and longevity. Small pots are usually an economical solution.
A couple of years ago I purchased an AIO Wolf guitar in the PRS style, based on your review of it and I love it. Always stays in tune, sounds great, and plays amazing. My only other guitar that I like as much as it is my Les Paul Custom Shop Black Beauty which cost me about 15X more. The AIO guitar is that good!
I bought an SC 77 back during Covid, to cheer myself up. It really did the job! It is way beyond what I expected!! Now, I don't play electric a lot, but I'd love to have a 335 style guitar. This might be the one! I highly recommend everyone check out AIO. They are the best value there is! Thank you Max, for turning me on to them. Wish they made acoustics....
Wow Max your blues playing has improved immensely and I can only wish to play with your speed. Love the AIO and Wolf stuff but cannot afford to watch this video, let alone another axe

I am still so in love with my AIO Wolf WLP750T... the sound, the feel, everything about it is sheer perfection. I bought it because of you, Guitar MAX, and I couldn't be happier. When my budget allows, I'll likely pursue another AIO guitar. They truly are an exceptional brand.
I was given an AIO Wolf W400 recently. I cleaned it up and took it to my luthier to get it set up and checked out. He was really impressed with the guitar, as am I. I would definitely considering getting one of these as the quality is there.
I noticed that detail, too. Just as I had shamed Epiphone when I saw their lack of f-hole binding, I will commend AIO for including it. Usually if a company takes the time and effort to address such a detail, it bodes well for how they constructed the rest of the guitar.
OK, let's all start with...... 1. Pick a simple amp many, like fender. My 2 choices, a super reverb (tube or newer supers ) Why? 4x10" speakers.... Very articulate.... A 4x12,or worse 4x15, or 4x18" You want clean, pick a Princeton... 1x10 So, I've been a pro drummer since I was 13, @ 1964,picked guitar because the 1st Paul Butterfield Blues Band, so I'm a good drummer who enjoys guitar, and I also designed my studio, with help from a fried at Atlantic, 48 tracks analog with another 48 with pro tools......I'm retired and 72! When one of sons went to apply to berklee in Boston, used A fender Princeton , the mic I used was a very good Large Condenser mic. He played his P bass, a 5 and 6 string basses all using 10" & big condenser.... So 18" speaker has almost 2x the amt. of air We wanted tone and articulation. So cleaner real tone, volume next gets to the console right?! This is the issue, clean sound with amps above Wild distortion, and 10 more effects...... You play fantastic, and I enjoy, both clean, or distorted However, for me, every distorted guitar goes through the same, the player, seems off course. To evaluate a acoustic guitar we are interested in clean tone, not one put through effects. I do get behind your clean and distorted playing, cause your touch is really excellent! However, not just you, but everyone rushes to effects. Me? I stop, all want is 90% clean and 10% distorted. So, this time you played mostly clean, I'm thinking I know, because it sounds so good to your well trained ears. Thank you for reading this....by the way its an art putting a great distorted number of effect chains..
I bought an AIO a few years ago that looked exactly like that one, except it had the older "cross" headstock. I was let down by the electronics. It had the mini pots and for anyone, who has tried to swap out the electronics on a semi or hollowbody guitar knows, It is no small task (with the exception of a few semi's like the Gibson ES-333's that had a back plate for the control cavity) I am glad they have gone to the full size pots. Hopefully they have improved the wiring as well. That was what I couldn't stand about the one I had. Every time you looked down you could see the cheap pots and bight-colored, thin wiring staring at you through the f holes. Maybe I'll give them another shot. I had one of their "PRS-Style" Wolf Guitars that I really liked. I only got rid of that one because I have 2 PRS's now, a CE and an S2. So, it never got played. I've been looking for a good ES-335 style guitar. But, I probably would not play it enough to justify paying a couple grand for it. As previously stated, buying a cheaper semi and upgrading it is not nearly as easy as with a solid body, so it has to be right "out of the box" in most cases.
I agree on every account. The mini pots are a ridiculous and unnecessary compromise, considering the cost of full size pots are extraordinarily low when you're buying them in bulk. I never understood why the import guitar manufacturers choose to cut that corner when good pots make such a big difference.
I bought this exact guitar based on your review, arrived today, and the quality compares well to my Gibson 335. Setup is perfect! This video is legit, AIO guitars are quality guitars!
@@fallenstard I had a Firefly SG a couple years ago. Looked great but didn’t love the sound or playability. Looking for something I can use to record my debut blues album with. Wouldn’t be opposed to a Starcaster.
GM is awesome for shouting out and giving props to other guitar players and their vids. R E S P E C T is a 2 way street and it has to be EARNED. Thanks Max for another informative video.
Yeah the Epiphone Cherry 335 cost around $800 bucks but it has those Gibson burstbucker Pro pickups those costs about 400 bucks for the pickups well approximately 350 to 400 bucks for the pickups they have that custom one pretty sweet with those pickups so that's kind of where they get into their higher prices put Epiphone not taking anything away from these guitars but they seem to be price right and seem to have all the ambiguities you would want and if you wanted to get a set a better pickups you could probably still in the 700 to 800 range or maybe a little less and if you can hang with those pickups which they didn't sound too bad but you know when you get down to the nitty gritty of sound that might be a pretty easy swap out and have everything else the way you like it too and the quality of the ebony fretboard etcetera nice binding tuners and have it set up the way you want it probably be a pretty sweet guitar
I shopped around and was going to get a Gibson 335 , there was a Bonamassa 335 Epiphone hanging there and the quality and sound are over the top, all Gibson electronics including pickups. The Epi Sheratons are high quality also.
Excellent video, and great playing as usual!! FTR, I have a Peerless Epiphone Casino from October 2001 in turquoise that I absolutely love. It has almost the best feeling neck of every guitar I have ever played or owned.
Thanks again for an honest review of an affordable guitar. Being an acoustic fingerstyle player, i own a few high end guitars but do like to fiddle with electric guitars as well. Something of this quality and tone are fine for when i need to have an 8 track flashback and play 70s tunes for my friends and family. Tom in Maine.
I just bought the Blue copy of this one. Can't wait to play it. I own both a Gibson ES-335, and Epiphone ES-335, both red with inlays. So, I'm looking forward to doing a triple comparison with this new guitar.
I just bought the Firefly version of that guitar. It is set up perfect. Intonation and the action. That looks like it came from the firefly factory, and they put a different label on the headstock. I know AIO does a complete setup after they receive it, But mine came all set up. Unbelievable no tweaking necessary. They are listening to all of your critiques and fixing all of the problems Before it leaves the factory. Good job. Hey this makes you part of the superior guitar evolution. I know when I bought guitars 40 years ago, they were not of this quality.
Thanks for the review. Traveling with expensive guitars is just not wise if you are on the road with a club/originals band. These AIO's look like a great option!
I bought an AIO L P because I saw it here on Max's channel because he made it look like a good deal! As a matter of fact it was a Great Deal!!! It's a beautiful guitar!!!! The setup was outstanding!!!! I really like that new headstock!! Makes me want another one!! I would be ordering one right now if I wasn't getting to old!! I've been around to see rock and roll starting. And I have seen most of them, including Zeppelin for 9.50 in the third row!! Max's isn't B Sing!! These guitars are absolutely worth way more than what they're charging!! Like I said, I'm having a real hard time not ordering this guitar right now!! Just buy one!!! You won't regret it!! Oh and I spoke on the phone with AIO directly and told them what I wanted! Try calling any of the others on the phone!!
You are obviously a fan of the Avro Lancaster aircraft. Your T shirt gave you away. Very impressed with the AIO guitar, value for the money. I have two Gretsch hollow bodies, a Electromatic 5120 and a G6119 Tennessee Rose both purchased as used. Love playing both of them. I purchased a Gibson Les Paul Tribute guitar about a year ago. The only brand-new guitar I have ever owned. It took me a long time to get used to it; especially the weight of it. Never had a solid body electric guitar before. Les Paul sounds good, just feels heavy!
I have also heard good things about AIO Wolf models, I cant find any available new in the UK though, it seems they do limited runs of their guitars which explains why they are able to keep the quality up there, it also makes it difficult to get them outside the US, it is the same with Firefly guitars, I have been wanting to get their version of the Madcat since it was released but they wont ship one to me in the UK despite me offering to pay for full insurance and expedited shipping, a delivery acceptance and shipping service quoted me more than the cost of the guitar.
I just got a black burst ....that's all they had in stock. I'm going to compare it with an epiphone inspired by gibson (Raspberry Burst). I'll be getting them in the mail around the same time. May the best guitar win.
This is so cool. I've got that exact same guitar. Bought it about 4 years ago based on your reviews of Wolf. Same color, everything and came set up to my specs. The only noticeable difference is the shape of the headstock. Probably the best guitar I've ever owned. Thanks
Awesome video! I have been waiting for a good reason to try AIO - looks like I just found it! (Debating on cancelling my DG Epiphone order…). Good stuff!
Great demonstration, I like the way that you covered the details about the guitar and how it would perform on different settings and also you describing the set up that you used for the demo. What type of camera and microphone set up did you use?
If anything, this upload is making me feel extra thankful that my present traditional arch top guitar is a professional grade Yamaha model from 1980, my birth year. After having purchased four economy models, all Epiphone, I suppose I decided that I wanted something closer to the high end but I have a much greater value than the Gibson original. I’ve had enough of playing instruments identical to the ones I had owned as a teen.
agree. got and AIO gold top and is an amazing guitar! better then Gibson. body is slightly smaller, but amazing LP. pickups are great. the ebony fretboard is a winner. I would highly recommend AIO.
They're an OEM guitar ordered from a decent manufacturer to their specs and set up before being dispatched. The company is a couple of guys with low overheads and they sell direct. Pretty simple business formula. Of course it's a different scenario to Epiphone who employ hundreds or thousand of people and have massive overheads and by the way also has the history of actually designing these types of instruments not just copying them. It's like buying some fantastic food truck meal where the owner is the cook, cleaner, server, bookkeeper etc and keeps all the profit for himself or going to a nice restaurant and getting a similar meal where the owner has Chefs, kitchen staff, servers, accountants, rent, utilities, liability insurance and shitloads of other overheads.
Where these guitars excel is you could effortlessly get endless sustain, like a Sustainiac but without needing a battery or special electronics. You basically controlled the feedback/endless notes with the angle your held your guitar in relation to your proximity from your speaker. If done right, you really didn't need to crank up the volume or gain much on your amp, although turning up the volume on a distortion box could easily get you edge of breakup and feedback with unlimited sustain. Guitar tone heaven!
Owned Wolf guitars 12-15 years ago. Awesome value. Gave them away to students and friends and sold a couple to up and coming Texas players. Thinking lately, I would get the Red Les Paul w/ Gold hardware. She's a beauty.
Yea it's out of control with these prices. I love seeing companies building the same thing for less, and they outdo them on quality of parts too. Great video Max.🤘🎸

Great review, however, I'd appreciate some more comments about the neck profile and how it feels in the hand. I like the idea of a 1-5/8 nut width, because nobody else is doing that for semi hollows, but I'd wanna get a sense for how the round D shape it how that feels. Epis from 10+ years ago had slim 60s D profile necks and kinda C necks that were hit or miss. Their recent offerings have been on the rounder, more medium C side of things which has been a great step up in playability, so it would be nice to know how the "round D" compares to neck profiles we may be used to or that are synonymous with it.
I am now happy with my Epiphone but I really changed the headstock saw off the part of it and made new holes. I am glad to see that here is the one which doesn't need that>great headstock type
So many great affordable guitars out there these days. I wish i had those options when i was 14 yo. Red ES- style guitars always remind me on the great Floyd Radford on the Captured Live Album of the unforgotten Johnny Winter.

Hey Maxx love your channel! I bought my es 339 in 2019. I freaking love that guitar. Make no mods except remove the pickguard. But my next purchase would likely be the AIO you're showing here. I love my Epiphone guitars ( I have six of them), but it may be time to switch teams.
Looks like a very nice guitar. I have 8 gibsons of different varieties a martin D10e and an American strat and tele rosewood deluxe with v-mod 2 pickups. This is going to be my next guitar.
Great looking and sounding guitar. I even like the shape of the head stock. A lot of time companys will make a copy guitar and put an off the wall looking head stock on them but not in this case. Price point and build is amazing also..
I use to be like you. But I started changing my negative thinking that i could not afford one. Once I broke thru that thought barrier. Gibsons started flying in... But that concept applies to everything in life. However all guitars are great and cool... If you love guitars.
I love the way you play. So relaxed and skillful. Then there is the way you address the camera. I don't know exactly if you like what I like. None the less I am going to keep in the spirit.
I have owned 3 and they all were great. Sold them to finance another more expensive guitar and regretted later. Planning on getting one of the les paul style models Aio makes. They look most excellent.

Yeah, but it’s also $750. I believe he’s comparing the Epiphone models in the same price range of $450-$500. You’re comparing a $460 guitar specs to one that’s nearly $300 more expensive.
Looks great, really nice aesthetics on that model, though I'm not a fan of abalone inlay on the headstock. Abalone just looks cheesey to me, it's basically what "cheap" guitars do all the time to make it seem like they're more expensive. Great job on everything else, though.
Thank you for the heads up on this Guitar. Enjoyed your playing btw. I was looking for a ES335 style instrument and I like what I am hearing from this Guitar. The feel of the neck is important to me. it looks like a Gibson neck.I like the Idea that the neck is mahogany straight through. The picks don't sound shabby ether but that could be the use of the box your using with this demo. However the thing is you can get a great sound out of this instrument. Thanks again. c]8-) 👍
I'll keep an eye out for these, but my Epiphone LP Sp II is still the best I've ever played, if not the best built, or best looking. I'm cheating though. ;) Mine was setup new, by a family friend who once did a 20k custom guitar for EVH.
Max. you and daves world of fun stuff. drowning in guitars. the big 3 , no reason to go elsware for guitar info. 10 years ago i bought the Oscar Schmidt copy of the 335 in sunburst for 200 new in box delivered. immaculate, all fret word done, bolt on neck !!! yes. the pickups compare to the dimarziao super distortions in my 70's japan made les paul copy. i dont know how they could build and sell such treasure for such a price.only thing i did to it is added the duesenburg les trem 2 tremolo. even the f holes have the binding. fast forward to accoustic Oscar schmidt , 1/4 1/2 3/4 ,short scale bass. all with similar level of craftmanship. Arisi from china is also building some great metal body resonators got 4 different ones, all good. i hope this comment helps you find stuff to review?
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Has an edgy sound that I like + an ebony fretboard + grovers. I will have to do some research. In comparison, I have an Epiphone Sheraton II Pro. Had to do a plek and setup out of the box but on the whole, the Epi platform is pretty nice for the price, Grovers, binding, slim profile D neck. Although it has a different vibe , I think the Epi is competitive with the AIO IMO
Hey Max. I love the overdrive sound you get on these pickups (KSA-50), but I happen to like the (AIO SH-335 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar - Red Burst) for looks. Unfortunately, the specs for the pickups on the two models show 2 different names. You've played them both. Do you feel the AIO Sh-335 sounds similar to the KSA-50? I don't know what amps / fx you were using on the two videos, so it's difficult to know if the AIO has a brighter sound profile than the KSA-50. I'm looking for something that sounds a bit more 60's, so I'm hoping there really isn't anything different pickup wise.
This is the first I've heard of these guitars, so I went to the AIO site. Their business a lot like "Eastman" guitars business model, but priced at 1/3 the price of my Eastman ES copy!
"audio taper" potentiometers are made to the spec's of "Pink noise" & the human ear's perception of 3db = 2X louder. "Linear taper" potentiometers are made to the spec's of "White Noise" & handling electronics "actual" voltage 1 Volt = 0 db V.U. (previously .775 V = 0 VU). 500k ohm pot's sound better than 250k ohm pot's do for passive, low voltage signals. Summary: full size 500k Pot's with an 'Audio Taper' work best for all purposes. Original "Gibson" parts (3-way toggle switch, 2 vol, 2 tone pot's & output jack) were all made by "Switchcraft".

Love the binding and ebony fretboard and dark mahogany headstock .
That is awesome!
Beautiful inlay design on the Headstock. Nice to see that AIO appreciates the visual value of that.
its an awesome time when we get guitars that are just as good as the big names at the fraction of the cost.
They aren’t just as good though .. you can put time and money into them and get about 90 percent there though
FYI , I don’t consider epiphone a “big name “

Fantastic guitar. Still have my Wolf and it's amazing. And glad to see you giving some props to Lester. He certainly deserves it!
Couldn't agree more!
I HAD A 1971 BLACK BEAUTY STRAIGHT FROM THE FACTRORY .

Thanks.
Epiphone have lost their minds with these $1200-$1500 335 styles. I played one out of curiosity: same old scratchy frets and goopy poly finish.
Crazy prices!
No epiphone hasn't epiphone is where they should have always been and they are the number 1 selling guitars today the Gibson boys and you too should have always known that someone was going to restore Epiphone back to premium brand and that happened in 2019/2020 once that happened it was over for Gibson..but this BS that epiphone prices are crazy is simply ridiculous

Hi Max..Nice guitar...love the way you pick...really good..Thanks Dave
I was given an AIO Wolf W400 recently. I cleaned it up and took it to my luthier to get it set up and checked out. He was really impressed with the guitar, as am I. I would definitely considering getting one of these as the quality is there.
You don’t even get binding on the edges of the F holes on an Epiphone but definitely notice that this one you’ve got definitely does!
Good point!
That looks so good and I don't recall seeing that on others before
I noticed that detail, too. Just as I had shamed Epiphone when I saw their lack of f-hole binding, I will commend AIO for including it. Usually if a company takes the time and effort to address such a detail, it bodes well for how they constructed the rest of the guitar.
My Epi has f hole binding and locking Grover tuning keys and Ebony fb. All for $499 + case
This seems like a good buy too
@@brianwhite3771 Sounds like a beauty! With those specs, I'd probably go with your Epiphone.
OK, let's all start with......
1. Pick a simple amp many, like fender. My 2 choices, a super reverb (tube or newer supers )
Why? 4x10" speakers.... Very articulate.... A 4x12,or worse 4x15, or 4x18"
You want clean, pick a Princeton... 1x10
So, I've been a pro drummer since I was 13, @ 1964,picked guitar because the 1st Paul Butterfield Blues Band, so I'm a good drummer who enjoys guitar, and I also designed my studio, with help from a fried at Atlantic, 48 tracks analog with another 48 with pro tools......I'm retired and 72!
When one of sons went to apply to berklee in Boston, used
A fender Princeton , the mic I used was a very good Large Condenser mic. He played his P bass, a 5 and 6 string basses all using 10" & big condenser....
So 18" speaker has almost 2x the amt. of air
We wanted tone and articulation.
So cleaner real tone, volume next gets to the console right?!
This is the issue, clean sound with amps above
Wild distortion, and 10 more effects......
You play fantastic, and I enjoy, both clean, or distorted
However, for me, every distorted guitar goes through the same, the player, seems off course.
I’ve been dying to get my hands on a good, inexpensive semi-hollow. Been leaning towards Gretsch, might have to try to track one of these down.
Firefly FF338 is still supposedly quite good for the price. But I suggest a Squier Starcaster.
@@fallenstard I had a Firefly SG a couple years ago. Looked great but didn’t love the sound or playability. Looking for something I can use to record my debut blues album with. Wouldn’t be opposed to a Starcaster.
You absolutely will NOT go wrong with one of the AIO KSA50s or KSA90s - they’re phenomenal guitars
I’m sure you know already but those Sire’s are supposed to be great.

Thanks for your review. Never heard of AIO guitars before. Will definitely check them out. Thanks.
thanks for another very well done review. Great playing on the intro as well.
Tom in Maine.

verygood rewiew of this 335 stile AIO
I just bought the Blue copy of this one. Can't wait to play it. I own both a Gibson ES-335, and Epiphone ES-335, both red with inlays. So, I'm looking forward to doing a triple comparison with this new guitar.
It's pretty! Max, I gotta say I enjoyed the playing portion of the review. Nice!!
Your a great shredder but thankfully , your showing us and letting us hear you blues playing and other styles .My ears and heart thank you . ❤
I appreciate that!
always very groovy reviews.I dig it!
Great info. love your reviews!

I owned, at different times in my life, 2 Ibanez AS-200’s. They were incredible! The best!
This is so cool. I've got that exact same guitar. Bought it about 4 years ago based on your reviews of Wolf. Same color, everything and came set up to my specs. The only noticeable difference is the shape of the headstock. Probably the best guitar I've ever owned. Thanks
That tone reminds me of Alvin Lee’s “10 Years After “ Gibson ES335 1960 model.
Wow ... that Halicrafters receiver from the 60s is da bomb. Gives you credibility other guys don't have. Seriously. Way good - nice review also. JT
Max,I Love your reviews, always so informative, but more than that, I just love to hear you play!
Thanks so much!
Good choice!

I have a Jackson King V, I have a Dean V, I have a Sterling, I have an Ibanez RG470, I have a Squire Mustang Vintage Modified and a few other guitars. My AIO Wolf LP is the one I grab the most to play.
Your appearance always throws me off and I always forget your range and capability as a guitarist. Awesome playing.

Very professional and nice review
Looks like a very nice guitar. I have 8 gibsons of different varieties a martin D10e and an American strat and tele rosewood deluxe with v-mod 2 pickups. This is going to be my next guitar.
Great looking and sounding guitar. I even like the shape of the head stock. A lot of time companys will make a copy guitar and put an off the wall looking head stock on them but not in this case. Price point and build is amazing also..
Always good information .
Anything that gives the middle finger to Gibson is a win in my book. 👍
Except that the Epiphone parent company is Gibson.
You should try a demonstration for IYV semi hollow body. I have one, and it's awesome! I had to work on it first, but it was worth it.

Looks great, really nice aesthetics on that model, though I'm not a fan of abalone inlay on the headstock. Abalone just looks cheesey to me, it's basically what "cheap" guitars do all the time to make it seem like they're more expensive. Great job on everything else, though.
NICE TONE LOVE IT. PLEASE KEEP UP YOUR EXCELLENT VIDEOS THERE EDUCATIONAL AND INSPIRING. GOD BLESS YOU.
That’s a great looking headstock actually. I might have to try one… just not sure where I’ll put it……..
Thanks again. c]8-) 👍
Great sounding ride!
I'll keep an eye out for these, but my Epiphone LP Sp II is still the best I've ever played, if not the best built, or best looking. I'm cheating though. ;) Mine was setup new, by a family friend who once did a 20k custom guitar for EVH.
I like this, how do these guitars stack up against the Guild Starfire line china, and older USA made models.
Max. you and daves world of fun stuff. drowning in guitars. the big 3 , no reason to go elsware for guitar info.
I have 3 Epi’s. 2 are fantastic, the 3rd may wind up under my nephews Christmas tree in December.
Nice opening demo .! Good advice . Enjoyable video .👏🏽👏🏽
