Toronto fans showed a lot of class
Texas Rangers fans cheered as well when he hit number 62.
This was a really amazing baseball moment. The way that the commentators let the moment play out for a while without saying anything, hearing one of Judge’s teammates say “take your time, take your time” while he goes through the lineup getting congrats from everyone, to that final shot with Roger Maris Jr. telling Aaron’s mom “congratulations” and giving her a hug. So many great moments in the bigger moment of #61.
How can you not be romantic about baseball?
Really beautiful moment for baseball yes.
A little “Moneyball” Ref. 👍
Amazing 👏 #99 Judge hits 61 to tie #9 Maris 61 year old record at Rogers center

Judge hits his 61st HR of the season to tie the AL HR record set 61 years ago in 1961….if God likes sports, baseball must be his favorite.😊
I witnessed Roger Maris's 61st homer and now I have seen Aaron Judge's 61st. Wow, how amazing it is and how damn old I am lol.
It’s not how old you are but what you’ve seen, which many of us are envious.
Kudos to the Maris family too for embracing the chase to 61.
Huge lifelong Red Sox fan here, but I'm glad to see a piece of history. He's a class act.
I love you and I hate you. Thanks for giving him the respect. I used to shake my head every time Ortiz crushed one out. I will always have respect for that dude though. Greatness should be recognized by all 👊🏼.
The Yankees don't deserve him
@@Cavscout101 Sure they do, now if they let him go then I will agree.

Well that's what makes the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry the best. You lot managed to escape history from happening vs you guys, so all credit to a very solid ball club in an extremely competitive division (If I'm not mistaken, the Astros have a losing record vs the Red Sox & the AL East)
Congratulations Mr.Judge! 61! I was born in 61 and now Iam 61 and got to to see you get 61! ⚾️
Congrats from toronto aaron and hats off to tim mazda for goin head to head with you , mano a mano , respect to you both , true meaning of sport and competition .
I watched Maris do it. It’s been a long time. Deep respect for Roger.
Deep inside?
Damn old timer, you've seen some great baseball in your lifetime
Respect for Maris and Judge as both also did it legitimately.
This man is 103 years old. Well deserving of the name “Old”
I remember that game too. I was there and caught the ball. Went right into my glove. I'll never forget
And what class the Blue Jays fans have, giving him a standing ovation. They love their Blue Jays but also love it when they witness history. I believe they gave Miggy a standing ovation when he hit his 500th home run when his Detroit Tigers came to play a series in Toronto.
I was about to be a pooper and say those were all Yankee fans only cheering
I think most people in the stadium were rooting for Judge.
@Kayaker Dude I was on the verge of seeing history I think. I got to see Ichiro when he was with the Marlins and chasing 3000 hits. I think he reached the milestone a few series after
@@Coolpachito I was at the game tonight, as a Jays fan I was standing and applauding for the moment. Love the history of the game and this was great to be apart of. Majority of the Jays fans were up and cheering for it too

This hasn’t really been a season for the ages for everyone, it’s really only been a season for the ages for Cardinals and Yankees fans. 98 was better roids or not

People won’t care about this for long. Maris’ record was broken by three people in the last 25 years. He only tied the old record.
Man, I would have JUMPED down there and break a leg just to get that ball. LOL
Incredible. 61 years after Roger Maris hit 61 to set the home run record Aaron Judge has hit 61 to tie the AL record. What a remarkable season of baseball.
Wearing 99 when Maris wore #9 lol
It's all a simulation
And Maris did it in 1961.

Congratulations to Aaron Judge, from a Red Sox fan. I hate the Yankees of course, but he’s a phenomenal player and by all accounts a good man too. Happy for him and his family
as a Yankees fan, RESPECT & THANKS.
I'm right there with ya. As a lifelong Orioles fan, I can only tip my hat to him. Congratulations Judge. Now go beat the record and make it your own!
If you're a fan of a team you have to be a fan of the game too and support the good of the game. I was high school age and a Cubs fan in the 1960s. I have never complained about the Cubs trading Lou Brock to the Cardinals. Brock reached his baseball potential and did the most he could for the game in St. Louis. Who knows if he would have become quite the same icon in Chicago. Seriously, I doubt it. He might have been traded somewhere else a couple of years later, and from there to a third team eventually. His game was not the game the Cubs played.
With Aaron Judge, we will have an honest contemporary season home run record even if it is only an American league record. The sportswriters and sport broadcasters can opine all they want. Fact is, without PED's, McGwire, Sosa and Bonds would never have had season home run totals in the 60s and 70s. Bonds has a known stat line from before he juiced. He wouldn't have exceeded that without steroids. It helps that I am a Fresno State alumnus. I received an M.A. degree there just recently. You can figure how old I am but it was a lifelong goal for me.
I pay more attention to the fact that Bonds, Matt Williams and Jeff Bagwell were denied the opportunity to challenge the old Hack Wilson NL record of 56 home runs due to the 1994 labor action. The NL records set in the steroid era mean absolutely nothing to me.
@@chillones9574 I agree 🍻

God damn no one cares where you was sitting... it's cool you was there but chill dude..
Happy you were there brother
I'm glad he gets to keep the ball without all the drama, he deserves it.
Why? He makes piles of money. A fan doesn't. You need to stop buying into these cry narratives.
He doesn't "deserve" to keep a home run ball. They belong with fans.
Plus, 62 will be the ball to get...and his last HR.
Don't underestimate the importance of the stick he hits it with...The bat perhaps doesn't get enough love. No drama with "the club".
@@seabeejg Agreed. 62 ball worth way more if a person chose to sell it. As for the argument a HR ball "deserves" to be with the fans or the player well HR balls bounce into all kinds of weird spots or back onto the field and fans obviously don't end up with those. If anything the ball should end up in cooperstown. But that'll never happen because greed.
Congrats, Aaron! Such a wonderful season. Best wishes for continued success the rest of this season and beyond. Such a privilege to see you play the game day in and day out.

It seems like Toronto is tied to Yankee greats - Judge hits 61 here and many moons ago Babe Ruth hit his first minor league home run here. This dude is just a natural beast a 6 foot 7 monster. Mark McGuire and Barry Bonds were juiced to the gills it doesn’t count. Roger Maris is the original holder and now Judge will surpass it in the next couple games 💪 ⚾️ #99
No matter how many steriods they took, Arron judge is 6 8 and nearly 300 pds.... They couldn't complete with that physically if they wanted to. You can talk about Barry and mark all you want, but they were better hitters than judge as far as power. Judges average is far better this year because he isn't trying to generate power, he is only trying to make contact. When your that big, contact turns into hrs
Just making sure all of Clemens and Petites and the countless other Yankees who juiced their stats don’t count either correct? The wins and championships must not count either according to your logic.
the thing about it is both mark and barry would still prolly have been hall of famers if they left steroids alone
