I have to say, the addition of the Elementals to the battlefield was a game-changer. It added smaller, more difficult to hit units that could actually cause major damage to a battlemech. It was also the beginning of making infantry a real, major threat to mechs.
Pre Dark Age is more like it. Dark Age of Technology saw the beginning of warp travel, Geller Fields, Navigator's, void shields, etc... stuff the BT universe doesn't have. Battletech tech levels are actually within our reach, we just need the breakthrough in fusion technology. All the rest we are already working on.
I'm all in for more Battlearmor content. One thing I've always loved about the BT universe is that it's grown and almost all levels of technology and society have been filled in, often in very clever ways. Of course some aren't so clever as they've had to explain certain tech gaps due to the origin of the game/universe and all the time that's passed since then, but at least they're trying.
Those gaps within the universe in BT, Like SW, are really really really fun to play with in homebrew RPG games. Making things up to fill those gaps that fit the universe is very fun.
The Inner Spheres first clashes with Elementals were a nightmare come true. On Turtle Bay, Hohiro Kurita lost his whole Lance to them, and damn near his life. The shock was total, when they found out that heavy machine guns and flamers were useless, and it took a Large Laser to take one down. One of the things that made Clan Battle Armor better then it's early Inner Sphere cousins was the use of Hargel, the automatic sealant and repair system, which the IS couldn't replicate till the mid 3060's. Between it and the on board med systems, it made Elementals pretty damn hard to kill. I would love to see more power armor and conventional vehicles covered; just like 40k, BT is a vast universe, with more than just mechs.

Battle armour is badass. I do enjoy mechs, but there's just something so visceral with the armour. I had just read a scene where they were included in the book Lethal Heritage. The horror and panic felt by a mercenary when a single human (armored) soldier just...wouldn't...die, when he was blasting his face with a laser pistol.
I remember first reading about Battle Armour in one of the Grey Death legion book's. They were able to build their own variants of the Nighthawk Armour thanks to the Star league data core they recovered. When combined with their already perfected method's of ambushing and crippling Mechs with explosives attached to joints, they could wreak havoc on even Assault and Heavy Mech unit's.
I really like the concept of Battle Armor. I’ve only ever experienced them through the PC games, where they’re little more than a nuisance enemy, easily dispatched with small lasers or machine guns. I wish they’d though more about how to make them dangerous to the player so we would have had to think more carefully about our load outs on those missions.
This is true. Though in heavy forest/jungle or urban terrain they'd be a true nightmare. Because in urban terrain even Urbanmechs can take down heavies. Especially if its upgunned. A swarm slightly larger than man sized BAs can use urban cover very effectively. Even more effectively than tanks or Urbies. And use hit and fade tactics to whittle down the enemy. Always use the right tool for the right terrain.
Clan omnimechs can incorporate handholds for Battle Armour (BA)most famously the Clan Elemental suits. This allows the Clan player to quickly move or redeploy their BA assets. It also serves a force multiplier as your not just facing that clan Nova but a star or Elementals. Which can be more fun than Inner Sphere players want to think about.
@@dubuyajay9964 they retcon in the Wolf's Dragoons as having the Badger OmniVehicle since 3030 - which has a troop cargo of 4 tons. And after 3050 they started selling Badgers to everyone. Coincidentally a squad of 4 Inner Sphere Standard is 4 tons.
The major advantage is the fact that they power down and wait for enemy mechs and convoy and power fast and BOOM "Surprise Butt Sex", was a tactic used by the Clans to strike fast
The amount of information on any one BA is a bit thin by virtue of their auxiliary roll in the universe. But types or even factions and their armours might be good. It's definitely an interesting topic.

So we have big mechs with guns and basically terminator armor for normal humans. Hell yeah
Battle armour is scary if used right and the Clan certainly did that
