Hey look; I’m Tongan. Two my cousins played for MMT back in 2017. And let me tell you - everyone just sees the glory and the beauty. But little did everyone know it was painful and stressful in the background. A lot of stress, discussions, planning, tears and blow ups. These island teams wouldn’t be doing what they’re doing if it was for MMT…we all know that…but people don’t talk much about how painstakingly crucial it was to sacrifice SO much financially and mentally too. Our island teams need to now be paid a fair and adequate amount. You can only hold the line to play for country and pride go so long. Now with inflation rates rising; you cannot compromise that with survival.
