  • Brenden Schaeffer runs a fantasy football full ppr mock draft from the turn, the 1.12 draft position to determine what a good strategy might be in 2024 when you draw the last pick in your draft.
This is a 12-team full ppr mock draft. Leaning on an elite RB1 before pivoting to upside at the WR position resulted in a roster that I absolutely loved. Do you see the vision for this style of drafting or did I ignore important positions like RB2 and TE for way longer than I should have?

Big risk taking M Harrison JR late 1st or early 2nd. He is still a rookie.

Rookies are huge values in fantasy drafts year after year because of the people saying "he's still a rookie"
If you have to wait until you see it for a player to draft them in fantasy, you're going to miss out on a lot of value over the years. I love rookies in redraft.

Picking at 4……. Tyreek, Cede, Jefferson vs Chase… Vikes QB situation scares me…. St Brown is interesting.
Rank your top 5 WRs…….. full ppr.

Thank you John. I am a sports radio host in Columbia, Missouri and a baseball writer in St. Louis, MO. I have a channel on here for Cardinals baseball content that is my main squeeze but I am hoping to build this channel over the next month with mock draft videos to be able to monetize and put our football content regularly.
      Appreciate your nice comment man!

I love rookies! They have the best chance of any type of player of exceeding expectations

I just do not understand how someone as prevalent as montgomery in detroit allows gibbs to be a first rounder it feels like you are picking him at his ceiling if everything goes right, while JT could easily be a 25+ carry a game rb with zack moss leaving while he was the RB1 like 2 years ago and his situation has gotten better.

Totally hear you but I'm anticipating Gibbs being unleashed even slightly more this year kinda like we saw toward the end of the season. JT has had injuries and could be lesser of a player as a result. More unknown there about the offense too, whereas I love the lions chances to light it up. You do make some good points though, I'm not gonna act like you don't. In PPR I do like Gibbs a lot. Half ppr I likely won't end up drafting him at ADP.

What’s going on with Jerome Ford? I had completely forgotten about him in my first mock draft. Nick Chubb probably won’t be ready and even if he is he’s coming off his second gruesome knee injury. Is it Deonte Foreman that’s keeping him off draft boards or what?
Edit: Nvm I missed it the first time through.

Yeah, he's being totally under valued. ESPN ppr rankings has him at 110 overall which is crazy. Like, he's not a stud but he's an RB that could very well be a starter for the entire year. I think there's a fairly strong chance that Chubb never becomes relevant this year coming off such a gruesome injury. I've been reaching for Ford a little earlier in mock drafts. He was pretty consistent last year. Could be a fairly reliable RB2 all season

I don’t think I’d have the balls to rely on trade equity as part of my draft strategy. If it works for you let us know, but too risky for me to delay RB that far without going hero TE and QB

I usually do go hero QB and TE in this strategy but I think Kyler is the best value on the board at QB. No reason to reach for a higher ranked QB when I think Kyler will outperform them. I regret not getting a better TE here, for sure.

your team has lots of upside...but wow..I also wouldn't be surprised to see you get last place. Big risk in a $$ league. Odds of a rookie WR finishing top 10/15 are slim and Gibbs has Monty taking TD's away. Personally I would have gone Gibbs/Taylor at the turn then DK

I've never finished last in a league. I trade enough and am better at waivers than most that it just wouldn't happen. I definitely respect your views but rookie WRs always tend to improve and get more snap share as the season goes along. I draft teams like best ball -- know I'm in the playoffs, build my roster for when I get there. Sounds a little cocky I realize but it's the management style that works for me.
