I work with someone named John Jack “JJ”like the character Will Estes played on American dreams miss watching this show every Sunday night at 7 or 8pm forgot it was a great hour watching all the music and events that took place back then
Wow, yes, I remember that scene and I also felt that way about it. I had a huge crush on JJ back then, and I remember watching it with my parents, trying not to let my feelings show!😅
the son cherish was playing towards the end. that song also played during i think the first season when meg dated jj's pal danny o'connor after they went to a st. joseph's table festival. while hanging in his car they kissed and cherish was "playing on the radio"
Suffered from bad time slots and it was at a time when the networks were first doing new episodes for a couple weeks, then no new episodes for a couple weeks which confused people. One would think "Oh it's Sunday at 8pm! American Dreams is on" and then it wouldn't be... which led to people thinking "It's time for American Dreams... eh, it probably won't be on." and them they'd miss episodes. This was also at a time when I LOT of people still didn't have DVR's.
I imagine that I would have been Roxanne back in that era---actually Roxanne is my father as girl lol. I am a little envious bc Roxanne is apparently bilingual (Polish? Russian?) I can only speak English. And I don't remember my grandparents.
Please, contact Netflix to revive American Dreams with all new 1970s based episodes and Brittany Snow, too! You can do it on Netflix' Facebook or Twitter handle! Thank you!
Curt Levesque my cousin ex from when he was 21 is A head honcho over at Netflixs I asked him to call her and get American Dream back . He said he not call someone he hasn't talked to in a decade😕.
This show was awesome! my mom was was about Patty's age when this took place, and her older cousins all wore their hair and clothes like Roxanne in all my moms old photos...my mom had a flip hair do in her 8th grade graduation pic.
This is so sweet, but it never would have happened in real life. In the 1960s, if they already had a baby, a couple would never have had a giant wedding like this; it would have been a small, private ceremony.
for my cousin's graduation i found socks that has little rubbers that stick to the leg so the socks don't fall. but now i want to find those hooks tom verica (jack pryor) has
This was like the 21 century version of the wonder years. I liked both. no doubt. One thing i did notice as a Gen-Xer is that when it comes to family drama shows that are nastalgic, it's almost always 60's-70's. I've never seen one that is like this that's late 70's-80's.
Sure that's different....we did not have to worry about getting drafted. We attended schools which could not discriminate against people....whether because of race, disability...etc. Interracial dating wasn't illegal.
This was an awesome show, unfortunately it wouldn't be able to get up off the ground (first returning episode) in today's tv world. They want garbage tv shows that have nothing to say, but every wrong thing to show off. It would be great if "American Dreams" came back, but tv today is just not worth it. "American Dreams" is better.
Amen to that, because this show had it all. American Dreams Rocks and Rules. I watched it every Sunday Night and Wednesday Night. I don't ever forgive NBC, to get rid of it.
I don't remember this. It must have been after I quit watching. I liked this show, but it was frequently not on when it was supposed to be, so I kinda lost interest.

I Miss this show so much
The greatest show ever !!!
This was one of the best shows ever.
I love this show, my favorite JJ and Beth moment is when he goes to the prom and gets her from that other guy she went with. I was melting inside.

It was the 60s, she would have kept her bridal veil on during the reception.
i will never ever forgive NBC for canceling this show. they ended a great thing far too soon

I loved this show so much. Roxanne was my favorite character. I missed the entire last season.

I am a Marine too and it most certainly was a good moment. Seeing his dad proud like that was really cool. Semper Fi.

Such a great show. It's beyond me as to why only the first season is out on dvd
this show was so awesome. I grew up in the 60's and this show brought back so many good memories. NBC SUCKS!
i want those sock holders. can't wait for pan am to come on
seems that beth's parents disowned her upon getting pregnant and marrying JJ.
