Any other Australians confused how Delta is a sandwich?
She had cancer when she was about 18 or 19, then a couple years ago she had surgery for an overactive salivary gland I think it was and a nerve in her tongue was badly damaged. She had to learn to talk and sing all over again. She’s a fighter, our Delta.

As an aussie I’ve had these artist around my whole life so I forget how good they are sometimes. Your videos reacting to all our aussie treasures has given me a renewed appreciation for them 🤩

Both brilliant singers. Both undeniably talented. I am no music expert but it just felt more like they were each putting in their own great vocal performance and instead of working/blending together in a harmonious duet, they were more fighting against each other.
The Teskey Brothers are fantastic
Unfortunately just as Delta was starting to perform in the US she was diagnosed with cancer. After her recovery and return to music it seemed the commercial opportunities in America were no longer there. She has however continued to sing with many greats such as Michael Bolton and Andrea Bocelli. I believe the same person that managed John Farnham discovered Delta.
She's just the best. I will never understand how she's not acknowledged as one of the greatest voices of all time in the world.

Delta had to learn to sing again after surgery that went wrong. She worked incredibly hard to get her voice back. It is different now. Not better - not worse - but different.{ Well... maybe that's debatable. She may well be better! After all - she had to develop a whole new set of additional skills in order to access and project her new voice effectively and safely.}
What NEVER changed was:- her determination, her incredible musical intelligence, her songwriting and arrangement skills, her wonderful stage presence, her professionalism and her generosity in acknowledging and supporting other musicians. Her ability to finesse her approach and the colours of her voice as she works with very different artists is just one marker of her enormous skill. {Compare this blend with how she sang with Gurrumul -for eg. } Really pleased you're sharing Delta on your channel. Aussies know full well - the rest of the world has been missing someone really special. But no longer! 😊👋👋👋

Here we have two fabulous Australian musician-singers- the wonderful Delta Goodrem and the fabulous Josh Teskey of THE TESKEY BROTHERS. I have been asking for more of The Teskey Brothers. They are a group from the Melbourne, Victoria. They mainly do a bluesy-soul genre of music. Josh is the husky and gritty lead singer who along with his brother Sam Teskey , Liam Gough and Brendon Love form the group. They often have other musical artists join them. They have toured around the world. Check out ""Hold Me" live at the Forum in Melbourne. It displays their warm and friendly interaction with their audience. It will lift your spirits! There are a number of their videos on You Tube. Songs by them that I particularly like are: "Let Me Let You Down, So Caught Up, Man Of The Universe, Rain, Pain And Misery ,Carry You, Paint My Heart, I Get Up and Sun Come Ease Me In." They have more. I have bought two of their CDs. Love, love , love them!!! I'm sure that you will, too!

Delta Goodrem AM was honoured on Australia Day 2022 (26 January) with an Order of Australia and now has the post-nominal AM for her chairty work and contribution to the performing arts. She was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma on the 8th of July 2003 and underwent surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. In October 2018 she went for a routine operation to remove a calcified salivary gland and when she woke up, a nerve in her tongue was paralysed. She had to learn how to speak and sing again and in my honest opinion, post Tongue-Gate (as she has named that time in her life) she sounds even better! Her lyrical Soprano voice gives me shivers and the way she plays the piano is just out of this world! I am so glad that you are a QueenD fan!

Look up and watch Deltas secret story by the project its only 4 mins I think but gives you the rundown of her health a couple of years ago. She had Huntingtons diease when she was 18yrs old and went through chemo etc back the but went into remission.
These two are really good, but the original song is a really high bar to beat. INXS and Michael Hutchence for the win.

Cancer when she was about 18, then severed tongue muscle or something similar back around 2018/19 that resulted in her having to re-train her voice from scratch pretty much.

I am a huge INXS fan having seen them live many many times back in the days before we sadly lost Michael. This is one of their truly beautiful songs they performed in Prague, a beautifully haunting film clip.
I’m not a Delta fan as such but I can respect that she has an amazingly skilled vocal range which like you say, is effortless.
Little bit of trivia if it’s not already been mentioned here but she started her career in Neighbours.
Hadn't heard this cover before and though both or their vocal talent is undeniably I'm not sure for me that their voices are best suited together on this one. And just personally there is a little too much focus on all the runs and 'bits' than just singing the song. Many will see that as hating or being overly critical but it's just my personal reaction.

I'm a fan of Delta's but for me, someone who grew up listening to INXS, this didn't hit the mark for me.
Both Delta and Josh are talented people and I recognise the techniques that they applied but I just felt it was way off.
That being said, it takes a brave performer to tackle this classic and they both did an undoubtedly better job than I would ever be able to do.
Talk about tearing me apart... The vocals were amazing as you would expect.. But I hated it! Only because the original is engraved in my soul and listening to this was like someone scratching their nails across a chalk board. Sorry Delta. It is exceptionally hard to cover an iconic song and do it justice.... No matter how good the vocals are.
I feel the same. Most covers I enjoy. Not this one.
