That was such a fun game to listen too to bad they got swept in the next series man I miss those Rockies they were all go players like Cargo and DJ and Parra. Man I love my Rockies
2018 was a wild season. NL West and Central and wildcard all tied up. Each loser of the divisional tiebreakers became 1-2 wildcards for the play in game. Wow.
Rox tried to blow this game. Dahl botching a popup. Desmond running on a routine fly ball to left field which was a poor decision. Drew Butera's catchers inference. Side note...Contreras is such a hotdog
Matt Vasgersian's call of Tony Wolters go-ahead RBI single vs Chicago Cubs in 2018 NL Wild Card game: Wolters with the base hit up the middle!! and the Rockies have taking the lead!!! 17:02
That’s Baez for you 🤦🏻♂️ But he also is the reason this game even went to extras. Baez is just kind of an anomaly. I can’t think of another player with a K rate that ridiculously high who slugs anywhere close to his level. When Javy does make contact he freaking mashes
Those were brutal back-to-back-home-losses for the Cubs against the Brewers (Monday game 163 for NL Central division) and the Rockies (Tuesday NL Wild Card game). WOW Those Theo-Maddon Cubs (2015-2019) should have had at least one more NL pennant, with all the talent they had. They reminded me of the Mets from 1984-1990, with only one WS appearance. And both the Mets (1986) and Cubs (2016) only WS title were memorable ones.
Just came for Baez's hit in the 8th--it was pretty awesome, we had lost all hope until then. Then we found out it wouldn't matter. It's ok though. I have a feeling the Cubs will be back in the postseason sooner than people think
yet the chicago media kisses Contreras and Baez's ass whenever they act like complete retards on the field. The second Tim Anderson or Yoan Moncada celebrate homeruns they're considered punks
@@jasonmilly3320 No more like the Chicago media overhyping a team thats won 1 playoff game since 2017. And stop acting like Contreras and Baez were pivotal pieces in 2016. Ross, Montero, Zobrist and Russell did the real leg work. Cubs are overrated much like that tourist fan base you have
@@pickles8299 As a Cubs fan I’d like to inform you that we have actually won ZERO playoff games since 2017. Not 1. But seriously, Baez won the 2016 NLCS co-MVP and did some damage in the World Series too. I don’t know how much more of a pivotal piece he could’ve been, so on that point you’re just simply wrong. He has it in him. What you’re not wrong about is the overrated factor - the entire team has just collectively vanished in the postseason lately. Makes me think it’s something mental in the clubhouse.
It’s brutal to rewatch as a fan. There was no collapse at all down the stretch during the season itself, but the tiebreaker with Milwaukee and then this? Holy hell 🤦🏻♂️
Baseball has the stupidest postseason format out of the 4 major sports, by far. Nowhere near a Cubs fan or any other team that lost in the postseason, but to play 162 reg. season games only to end your season on a single elimination game is crazy to me. Too bad the Yankees have been able to advance the last two years, or MLB would fix it.
Colonel Attar the need to do what nba and nhl does have an eastern and western conference and the top right seeds make it to the playoffs where one plays eight, 2 plays 7, 3 plays 6 and 4 plays 5 and then whoever wins those goes to the semifinals then whoever wins those goes to conference finals then whoever wins that goes to the championship it would be so much easier then what they do now
And in 2018 it was basically double elimination with the Cubs losing the tiebreaker the day before. 95 wins, tied with the Brewers for the best record in the whole National League, and go on to lose back-to-back one-&-done games. Awful experience as a fan after one hell of a regular season. Meanwhile the 90-win Braves immediately advanced to the Division Series. Dumb

Cubs for sure choked. Really hope they can pull it together if there is baseball in 2020
Umps were clearly cubs fans
Merk lol right!!! I was thinking the same thing
that's always the case lmao
Angel Josue 17 You’re right, Cardinals won the Division and the Brewers got the Wild Card Game!

Bottom of the 13th, Cubs need a base runner. Baez corkscrews himself into the ground (twice) playing hero ball.
Gore swings at a 3-2 pitch, which he clearly should of took to get on base....#smh
Not my MVP
You gotta ride the highs and lows with Baez, and hes a top 25 player in the league for sure

The best for Rockies fans like me now Nolan’s gone Trevor’s Ian Desmond is gone Dj lemihou is gone it’s just depressing

I heard the Cardinals are getting much better. I mean Jack Flaherty tho
Why was Bryant playing left?!
So Bote could play third
Newt Scamander I was thinking that
That’s his secondary position
Bryant is actually a really solid outfielder in any of the 3 spots
Also...sorry this was up so late. My apologies.
That was inference at 3rd with Baez but my rockies still won

@@JGem2390 he huged him so he wouldn't get the double play

Doesn’t matter y’all got destroyed by the Brewers
Cubs swung at way too many bad pitches. That's on the manager. He sees that going on for the whole last week and nothing changed.
That hub by Baez is the bottom of the 11th was an interference Nolan had PLENTY of time to get a throw off to third
as a reds fan I love this game
How was nothing called on Baez for freaking hugging Arenado?
Umps were wanting Chicago to win. But i agree with you should have been called a double play for interference.
Miss 4, hit 1, celebrate like crazy
Jesus I miss baseball
One of Wrigley Field's greatest games. Cubs lose, cubs lose, holy cow.

Baez is just not a good postseason hitter. And Contreras gets super hipped for a BB that’s weak AF
