Hall has always been a stud !
A few guys have beat him but I mean a few amazing guys like Bo Nickal or Valencia ....at that level we are talking millimeters of difference .....they are all champions !!!

I'm holding my son back....1 yr makes a huge difference from a 17 yr old sr to a 19 1/2 yr old sr.....HUGE ADVANTAGE of body development and knowledge of any sport.

What happened with Mark Hall getting to pick his leg at the end of the first period?!? And they didn't even really let them wrestle through it!

I thought Hall was from Minnesota

He's originally from Michigan; Davison (the same school as Brent Metcalf, Jon Reader and Paul Donahoe) to be specific. He bounced around a little bit as he got older. He moved to Kentucky in seventh grade to be able to wrestle high school competition. He then transferred to Apple Valley in MN the next year because MN lets kids compete at the HS level in 8th grade. I think the plan was to end up back at Davison. I know he played football his freshman year at Davison, so I'm guessing at the time of this match, he was still living in MI.

      Sean Garner, Mark first rocked the MSHSL wrestling scene in 2010/11; 130 State Champ, 46-3. Then in '11/12; 145 State Champ, 42-0. '12/13; 152 State Champ, 41-1. '13/14; 170 State Champ, 48-0. '14/15; 170 State Champ, 46-0?. 15/16; 170 State Champ, 48-0.
I am happy to say I witnessed every one of Mark Hall's State Tournament matches. I can not recall anyone ever laying a glove on him!

I'm not seeing how getting held back to wrestle when you're older means so much when you're older.

      TheWarrior816 it's common sense

in high school it matters, getting held back puts you a whole year ahead of your competition, physically and technique wise. you wouldnt understand as a person who took up wrestling in their adult life

why is it that the USA is the only country that makes age such a huge issue with this sport. I know guys who are very young who could outmatch guys in their 30s. I also respect younger guys who aren't afraid to compete with older guys because they are at least LEARNING something. This kind of crap talk makes me wish I never took up the sport as an adult

Bob Kotchy what you think age don't matter your delusional yeah a younger guy can beat a older one but that's like saying your the same wrestler as you were a year ago let alone 3 years ago

I wrestled Brent Metcalf to a razor thin loss pre teen. I only wrestled in MI and OH and he was a national stud, already. I also beat and loss to Puerto Rico's Olympic bronze medal winner Jamie Espinal as a 13 and 14 y.o. I wish I would've stuck with it! Biggest regret...
