- Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Serbia as Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic declared "Taiwan is China" before welcoming crowds in Belgrade. Belgrade residents whom RFE/RL spoke to appeared broadly happy about Xi's visit and their country's ties to China.

My understanding is that they were remembering when the Chinese embassy in Serbia was bombed by NATO.

Yeah, the bombing of Chinese embassy was not done by accident, but there was a small catch.
One of the first targets of NATO was Serbian army headquarters building, so Serbs decided to transfer their command to... can you guess where?
Yup, to the Chinese embassy with Chinese permission.
Serbs thought that they were so clever, and Americans will never find out, and if they do they will never have the courage to bomb the Chinese.
But US had drones, spy planes, satellites and whatnot all looking down at Belgrade, and of course they figured what's going on, but they couldn't just admit that they deliberately bomb the embassy, so they used that famous term "collateral damage".
If you like China why don't you apply to integrate with russia .

Video should have said that people working for government were forced to attend this charade. Those who would say "no" would loose their job. As the economy is ruined every single day, it is hard for people to play heroes.
One could say: it is illegal, they should have pressed charges. And yes, it is illegal but there is no law applied here, everyone is part of this criminal system under Vucic. Not just the judges, but police, military, employees in media... They could kill someone and not be responsible; it happened already.
And the countries of the world are silent, as usual. They were silent when Hitler took entire Germany under control, they were silent when Putin did the same in Russia, and they are silent now when Vucic does the same in Serbia.
