I love this style of IPA from Other Half. I agree with the entire profile you described. It's 100% consistent with the profile I would attach to it. One of our local breweries, Banished Brewing, is owned/operated by a good friend of mine. They have a craft beer festival scheduled for this summer, which will have many of the top breweries from Canada AND Other Half! They established a good connection with Other Half several years ago, when they were able to get some kegs delivered here in St. John's, to their craft beer brew pub called BrewDock. Love everything about Other Half!
The OH flagship brewery is in Brooklyn, but co-founders Matt Monahan and Andrew Burman grew up in the DC area, so they wanted to open a branch in their hometown. The DC brewery opened in late 2020 in the new-ish Ivy City development on the east side of the city, about 20 mins from my house. All their beers are top-quality and I feel lucky to be able to get their stuff whenever I want it.
Love seeing some OH back on the channel, baby! Sounds like a tasty one. The hop combo is also my jam. As for OH, they have five NY locations -- OG Brooklyn, Domino Park, Rockefeller Center, Finger Lakes (East Bloomfield) and Buffalo -- and then Philly, Washington D.C. and more recently Chicago. It's insane how many spots they have now. I don't grab as much from them nowadays just because I'm overwhelmed by the selection they kick out on a weekly basis, but I need to get back on the saddle. Holy smokes I didn’t realize that had THAT many spots. I’m surprised we don’t see any of their beers out here with how wild distro has been of other beers back that way.
OH being readily available on the shelves here is so nice. They really do Haze well. I might pick this one up if I saw it, but for some reason I really don't like Nectaron.
