      it's true. i went out to see the Bulls play the Nets when the latter were still in New Jersey. $30 tickets on Groupon lol. and he threw down one of the most jaw-dropping dunks i've ever seen in a game-just EXPLODED off two feet in the lane, turning what looked like it'd be an easy layup into a two-handed sledgehammer. the place went absolutely nuts. i saw Westbrook the same year, and while they were both incredible athletes, Rose def had the better game. it's so sad about his injuries, and i'm glad he's been able to carve himself a career despite all he's been through.

  • @KOforLiddell
    @KOforLiddell 10 лет назад +1315

    I believe that pre-injury D-Rose is "purely" the most athletic player in NBA history. This means not taking relative height and weight into account, just how athletic you are period (players Wilt, Lebron, Shaq, and D12 are crazy athletic for their size, but I'm just talking about pure athleticism without categorizing players). D-Rose moves, jumps, and changes direction in mid-air like no player i've ever seen.

    • @thefookinchamptfc
      @thefookinchamptfc 10 лет назад +80

      ***** Westbrook can not move in the air nearly as smoothly as Rose can. Westbrook is extremely rambunctious, often going straight up on his lay ups or dunking the ball. Rose's athleticism allows him to move around while maintaining hang time.

      @ethd2286 7 лет назад +16

      About36GREEKS MJ is debatable, Lebron just bullies people, and Carter? Lol. When you take into account Roses size and his athleticism and the acrobatic finished yes he was the best ever, because he didnt have the benefit of being 6'6 like MJ or 6'8 250 like Lebron

    • @About36Greekss
      @About36Greekss 7 лет назад

      Eth D so you're talking about below the rim finishers then , gotta be more specific , even then idk about that , mj switched hands for shots , used to glide through the air half the time while palming the ball with his big hands , lebron is prob the best finisher of all time tho imo the way he can finish plays while being fouled is unbelievable, plus being so big and strong it's just easy for him , that doesn't discredit him from being the best finisher ever tho , and carter in his prime anytime he got in the key it was a slam which by my count is still finishing , rose didn't even dunk as much as you think or prob know , he would have maybe 15-20 dunks a season in his really good years , his layups were incredible however but he got blocked quite a bit too I remember watching games seeing it happen , still an amazing finisher tho I'd put him right up there but can't put him ahead of the guys i mentioned

    • @hallokity123
      @hallokity123 8 лет назад +1

      There is no way to settle this debate. But given that Lebron is 16-5 against the Bulls in the playoffs is a pretty good argument. But this Bulls roster isn't even that good to be honest, if you compare the 2011 season to the 2016 season the 2011 has a better offensive rating (partly due to Rose) and better defensive rating. As much as a like Pau, he's a liability on defense. And i assume you want a healthy noah because he only played 29 games and sucked in the ones he played. The only way I see the Bulls have any chance against the Cavs if they have the 2011 squat and instead of keith bogans have this years Jimmy Butler

    • @AeromaticAero
      @AeromaticAero 8 лет назад

      +Chuck Hayes assuming noah healthy then yeah, problems for lebron and those guys, they clearly can't go against big body shotblockers (before bogut went down vs after in this years finals). but i will speculate that mvp rose with this jimmy butler probably couldnt beat lebrons heat, but this cleveland squad??? mmmm 4-2 bulls lol

    I'm 37. I grew up And still live in Chicago. MJ was my God. Prime Derrick was the most athletic and explosive player I've ever seen. His speed, bounce, power, was something I've never seen before or after. He was on pace to be the greatest PG ever, easily. That Bulls team was built to win also. Tears me up everyday. Literally haunts me the what ifs. When he tore the knee the first time, I prayed. He never got 'it' back .

      Westbrook better

    • @GmkSuperstars
      @GmkSuperstars 7 лет назад +41

      Getting the Wetworks what made rose so much better is he had gears Aka pace control could be in first gear and go into overdrive and then finish it left right up and under reverse I mean you name it he could do it only person with that same finishing ability is Kyrie just without the explosion

    • @billiondollarbull
      @billiondollarbull 7 лет назад +2

      I agree that Rose has quicker and has a softer finish. But Westbrook is bigger, faster(speed is not acceleration), stronger, and can fly higher. This translates to West being the better defender (both help and on lockdown), rebounder (by miles), and he's better at transition. They're pretty much equal at getting to the hole and finishing (rose with finesse, russ power); and passing might be a toss. But Westbrook can guard Rose. I can't say the same vice versa.. On top of that, Westbrook has a more reliable better jumper. Also in my opinion, Westbrook is the most passionate player since Kevin Garnett.

    • @stony7135
      @stony7135 7 лет назад +19

      Donald Sanders I agree to a point but rose was better overall, how many times does rush turn it over? That's the big key turnover ratio, and not to mention rose was what 23-24 that season and a point guard getting MVP? Rush is what? 28? If rose didn't get injured when he did who knows how much more dominant who could be right now at 27 years old?
