Even though we know so much more, we're still letting so many species become extinct. 😢

3:02, actually, deer (family Cervidae) are split into two subfamilies: Odocoileinae (New World Deer) and Cervinae (Old World Deer) with the former being split into the tribes Odocoileini (Nearctic Deer (contains Odocoileus)) and Ozotocerotini (Neotropical Deer (contains Mazama, Pudu, Blastocerus, Ozotoceros, and Hippocamelus)) and the latter being split into the tribes Muntiacini (Muntjacs and Tufted Deer (contains Elaphodus and Muntiacus)), Rangiferini (Caribou and Fossil Relatives (contains Rangifer)), Megalocerotini (Fallow Deer and Relatives (contains Dama, Axis, Hyelaphus, and Ocellelaphus)), Capreolini (Roe Deer and Moose (contains Capreolus and Alces)), and Cervini (Common Deer and Relatives (contains Rucervus, Rusa, Cervus, Elaphurus, and Przewalskium)).

Actually, both Myotragus and the takin belong to the subfamily Ovibovinae, but the former is part of the tribe Naemorhedini while the latter belongs to Ovibovini.

You should know that there are now 166 extant bovid species, based on here, the modern aurochs is actually two separate species: the Paleotropical Aurochs (Bos namadicus (cladistically including the Zebu (Bos namadicus indicus) and Sanga (Bos namadicus africanus))) of Africa and Southern Asia and the Palearctic Aurochs (Bos primigenius (cladistically including the Taurine Ox (Bos primigenius taurus) and Mandarin Ox (Bos primigenius mandarinus))) of Europe and Northern Asia, just like hartebeests are now two separate species: the Northern Hartebeest (Alcelaphus buselaphus) and the Southern Hartebeest (Alcelaphus caama).

@@indyreno2933 it's not mostly, if you Google the asian europe geography border you find almost all results are the Caucasus mountains and the Ural mountains so south Caucasus like Georgia Armenia and Azerbaijan are in Asia and northern Caucasus, Russian Caucasus, is in Europe
