We've been looking at SO MANY options for rack systems and none of them seemed to be "just right". The idea of buying each enclosure individually and creating a customized rack is exactly what we've been looking for. Thanks for posting this! It's going to make things so much easier! Since my 14 year old is sort of self funding all of his breeding projects, saving up the money to buy a rack was stressing him out LOL!
That gutter lining tip was golden for babies. I’ve been thinking about what to use in their small tanks that wouldn’t take up the whole thing 👍🏻 I’ll be using that for all the babies I breed in the future on my channel. Thanks! Great video!
Thanks for all the info. Love that if you need to sort, you can pull one out and move where ever also. No need to adjust selves or anything. One fits all. Females to one side males to the other, or sort by future pairing. Pretty awesome. I’m having trouble getting my young one to eat on its own. Great that I can make sure it eats, but I’ve tried to let it do it’s natural search and it never eats.
Looks great man🔥I've always wondered how breeders of New Caledonian gecko's kept such quantities, Optimal setup for you and the gecko's. I'll keep this bookmarked for future projects👀
I currently only have two juvenile cresties that I'm raising up, and I'm planning on keeping both of them in their own 18x18x24 bioactive enclosures. I would love to keep all my future geckos like this, but I'm hoping to get into breeding more and have really realized that it isn't really practical (or possible). I love these containers and how they stack so nicely. I'll definitely get some in the next few years when I start diving more into breeding.
great setup if your in a warm climate. I'd love to do it this way in the UK but Temperatures from say Nov to March are just too cold and with the crazy gas and electric rates here right now it would cost so much to have the radiators on keeping the room at say 24c
That’s an awesome set up. I like the whole rack looking system. You don’t have a video going to more detail about the rack where the tubs are in? That would be great to see too.
Online I have done research and everything I am finding says that 18x18x24 is the recommended size for and adult crested gecko. Have you had issues with stunted growth or stressed/unhappy adult geckos in the 12x12x18? Great video btw, super useful for my current setup to see how to accommodate them with less vertical enclosures.
Can you have a bio active tank for breeding geckos? Bc I’m scared that the springtails and isopods might try and eat the eggs if I don’t catch them in time. Is that a thing?
By chance are you able to post an updated link on where you get the tubs? It keeps saying the page is no longer available. Looking at it for my own cresties and weighing all of my options for this coming breeding season.
Hello!! I been watching your videos and they are awesome!!! Your older setup video says to use cork bark as a rough surface to shed. I'm curious in this setup what are they using to shed? The pool noodles?
@@robbysreptiles makes total sense. A couple more questions. Which thank you for taking the time, I really appreciate it!! Are you using anything to keep track of your humidity? Or do you have enough experience you don't need a humidity gauge? Do you add a humid hide to all enclosures? I plan to start small. Maybe get a pair or trio to start with. So I just want to make sure I give myself a chance at success and the animal is comfortable. Thanks Robby!!
@@sibleywarrior07 I do not keep track of humidity, I check on my collection daily and just know what my environment needs. All females have a lay box and some males enjoy having them to hide in. It is duel purpose as a humid hide i guess
@@robbysreptiles thank you so much for the advice. I was deciding between Leopard and Crested Geckos. But, I think it's settled. I'm going to try Crested geckos to start. I'll take my time doing more research before I start anything and/or purchase any geckos. Thanks again!! The advice and knowledge is appreciated.
Hey Robby cool videos I have gargoyle geckos the male that’s 45grams but a female that’s 68. Full adults I’ve never bred them with this big of a weight difference is this ok to breed them
I would supervise! A 45 gram male in crested geckos I have found can kinda handle anything. But I know gargoyles get bigger so do not take my word for it and ask gargoyle breeders :)
Hey Robby~ Would it be alright to use smaller self-enclosed gecko tubs like the juvenile and adult enclosures for hatchlings? And if so, what size would you recommend for the tubs?
I have two of these tubs! I love them but they start to smell awful really fast even when I change out paper towels? Do you have any tips or have you had experience with this issue?
Hey Robby! I used this idea and it is great . I just noticed some of the geckos hanging in the front of the container more often by the vents. Do you think the humidity is to high in there?
Males and females can cohabitation if you have lots of space and visual barriers. Breeding seasons usually last like 6-8 months but I've had some females lay 10 clutches before or more
I know you touched on it, but I wouldn't recommend anything under 10 grams in the container store bins. They're able to climb over the top when the bin is closed and get under the bin, happened pretty often until I gave up and went back to exo terras for babies. Other than that all of my geckos have been thriving after swapping to this setup!
This probably seems like a silly question that many people have already asked you, but I was wondering if with this system, is it possible that the gecko is attached to the top of the drawer and when you pull it out you hurt it?
What brand of drawers do you have there? Been looking for the right brand Edit: you briefly went over what you have but could you provide a link to the exact tubs you got there? Scrolling and searching for those exact bins is a pain
most people live thier lives like these geckos, and daddy government is the breeder. they know this and willingly choose to continue to be a gecko and live a safe, boring af life, then discarded when theyre not useful to the breeder anymore. as you can see, these geckos want nothing to do with tolerating human handling.
Multiple times a year they are 25% off. An exotic Terra of the same size is 120 or so. And if you buy cheap tubs of this size for 15 a piece they are not self contained nor self stacking

I live in the uk. Try putting a heat long heat mat and attach them to the back of enclosure
do your drawer system snap together or can they just sit on top one another
They don't snap together but they stack and have little grooves to sit flush
Remind Me to ask u on our next live, how sturdy these tubs are and how many high you can go 😁😁
I'm at 8 high

Absolutely none. I find my adults thrive in a 12x12x18, and only if they're 45g or more. Under that they even benefit from slightly smaller

Could this support a full size crested or chahoua?
Yes

Is it ok if the paper towels are soaked from misting?
Yes but not like puddle sif water. You want it to be damp for only a few hours. I have fans in my facility that help dry it out
