Also keep in mind that we're using 32/27s in this video. In the previous CF vs. Zoa -5 video, we were using 33/28s (hence the higher exit velos in that video). But Marucci doesn't make a 33" -5 so today these are both 32's.
Ik this is probably annoying for u to hear, and this video is amazing. But can u do this for drop 8 or if you think that they swing pretty similarly to the drop 5's?
We have both of these bats in 31 -8. The Cat 9 is great for a strong batter that can produce the trampoline affect. The Zoa will work better for less physically developed kids. Our Zoa was bought 3 weeks ago and its now officially broken. We only used it for ABs. and light BP. Safe to assume 250 ish hits. The Cat 9 is still thumping away. So in the last 5 months we have broke a Zen and a Zoa. And the Cat 9 is the last bat standing. Hope this helps the U12 boys decided. Keep up the great videos BBB's . Its become our bat bible !
Thank you so much for making this video! I have been going back and forth between which bat I wanted to get for my son for Christmas. It was good to finally see both of them in action together.
Got my son a 32/27 Cat 9 Composite when they first dropped so this is his second season using it. He is 14 so can only use it in some tournaments, but it’s an insane bat and has thousands of swings between games, the cage, and his teammates and shows no signs of cracking.
i have a cat 9 composite and i atleast take 400 cuts a week and i’ve had it since last january and it’s still holding in 400 cuts off season and about 700 in season
I agree that the Cat 9 is a beast, but DeMarini composites need AT LEAST a bare minimum of about 750 front-toss swings before you really start to see its full potential.
Got the Cat9 Comp for my son last week. We got the bat on Friday, he hit a HR on Sunday, his first ever in a game. Bat has serious Pop to it. It's a -5. 32/27. He was using a -8 Cat 9 prior to that.
Delivered on my expectation to go over dead center, nice! I'm just thinking if you guys could bring Paul (I think that's his name) to hit with the Cat9 at this stadium he'd probably go 450+. Do it!!!!
Ima big marruci girl so I’m glad the cat 9 won I have a echo connect which is a softball bat and it is the best I’ve ever had way better than Easton goats advanced by far it beats it in durability and exit velocity so if your a softball player go for marruci
I feel like the Zoa is a lot lighter. On the scale the Zoa is 0.8 ounces lighter and I’m sure swing weight is even more than that. Maybe the -5 is different but we tested ours with a 31/23.
My kid prefers the DeMarini’s but me as dad the one who pays for them I prefer Marucci because you can actually get a season + out of them demarinis are nice but not durable. If you like spending $300-$400 every 4-6 months go for it.
I feel like the Zoa is a lot lighter. On the scale the Zoa is 0.8 ounces lighter and I’m sure swing weight is even more than that. Maybe the -5 is different but we tested ours with a 31/23.
I got the Cat 9 Composite 30/20 -10 but that thing is insanely good. My friend has the zoa and we did a battle we both hit three out of a llws field but I hit a 97 mph ball and my friend decided to quit because I guess he thought it was too hard and we are only 11! Cat 9’s are the best
Question. If the Cat 9 Comp is your favorite drop 5 USSSA bat. Do you think it would also be your favorite drop 8 bat or not necessarily? Are there lots of things that can change between -5 to -8 besides weight?
the demarini slowpitch bats (same continuous fiber composite tech) have that seam with almost every bat, and the seam just gets bigger and bigger over sometimes thousands of swings - and it's really common for the bat to end up breaking in a separate spot on the complete other side of the barrel
Zoa drop3 33” is that a good bat against the goods 33” ?? Want to pull the trigger and get one of the two for my son plz let me know thank you and also your Chanel kicks ass
Hey, can you get a couple 13 yr Olds to do this comparison. Your EV is about 20mph higher than a good 13 yr old. I'm wondering if the lower swing speed might get better response in one bat vs the other.
I don't know, you hit 420 & more dingers with the Zoa @ the stadium & you a 105 exit velo with the Zoa on the 1st video (Zoa vs CF). You just LIKE the Cat 9. You should let the other guys hit & have vote.
Will I need an answer from the best man I know. If I were to get either the -5 cat 9 comp or cat 9 connect alloy -5 which one would last longer and what do you think is better in all categories. Gotta get one for Christmas you know.
He might tell you the same thing but I would say the Cat 9 Comp. These are grown men swinging pretty hard with a lot of swings and it is still holding up. Comp is gonna cost more but at utrip level you practically need composite to perform at the top
Also keep in mind that we're using 32/27s in this video.
In the previous CF vs. Zoa -5 video, we were using 33/28s (hence the higher exit velos in that video). But Marucci doesn't make a 33" -5 so today these are both 32's.
How fast is the machine throwing in the facility with hit trax ?
Ik this is probably annoying for u to hear, and this video is amazing. But can u do this for drop 8 or if you think that they swing pretty similarly to the drop 5's?
What balls do you use in the machines? Im really curious. I got some baden balls for my machine and they dont go far at all. There like hitting rocks.
My 9yo kid just went yardo twice this weekend with a Cat 9. First time ever to hit over the fence. I still don’t have my voice… Great video boys!
Drop 10?
@@GmoneyOh9 yes
How does a nine year old swing a 2 3/4 quarters bat
@@PRhomeboy Okay I was gonna say how does a nine year old swing fast enough to use a 27 ounce bat
My 10 year old cousin hit a inside the park home run the zoa
Love the sound in that stadium! The Cat 9 rung like a bell in there. Btw we're out here sweatin it out on the Demarini World Series. LETS GO!!!!

I'm calling this an upset! Guess the Cat's like to show up in KC. Really interested in how the Hype compares.
Great content guys, Thanks!
Your youtube channel is the best. Ordered my 8yr old the Marucci cat 9 composite thanks to your videos.
You guys should get the Asics Hold stage Maple...Shohei Ohtani's Bat...You can get it on eBay straight from Japan...
I like the zoa! Nice to see it making it this far!

I play 12u tournaments and I just hit me one with a Cat 9 that went roughly around 280 - 290 feet. I love the Cat
7:56 IS THAT A BAT FLIP AND NO HOME RUN! 20 PUSH-UPS NOW!

He hit more hr with the zoa and waaay further, how he likes the other bat more idk!!! Great video
We always have watched how the bats look and how good they are
But we never talk bout the kicks Will wears like damn
I definitely agree this weekend I was using a cat 9 comp because I broke my meta I jammed shot and 1 hopped the fence
Now we need the Cat 9 comp vs. THE GREEN GOAT

WHOA he's at Royals stadium, my favorite/home team - and using my favorite line of bats from when I could use the OP bats as a kid! 😂
My kid swung both and just liked the ZOA. Super top loaded. Both are nice. Can’t go wrong.
absolutely
It’s end loaded? The ZOA? I’ve seen others says it’s a balanced barrel.

You should do a video of the Cat 9 comp vs the Cf8 or the Green zen
Bought this for my son He's 5'7" about 145 hitting absolute nukes with the cat 9 Composite
I can tell this is gonna be a BANGER
Thanks to your videos we now have grown-ass men swinging -5 Zoa in Sunday league rec games. Super dangerous. Lol
thanks for the clarification

What baseballs do you guys use? I need new baseballs and want to make sure I’m getting good ones.
Dang! Those bats are insane. Too bad I can’t use them since I’m already in high school and they only allow BBCOR bats
you can still use the zoa but its way more expensive
Purchased the -8 zoa. It's incredible.
I feel like the Zoa is a lot lighter. On the scale the Zoa is 0.8 ounces lighter and I’m sure swing weight is even more than that. Maybe the -5 is different but we tested ours with a 31/23.
You guys should do a HR derby with the $100 bats
love it!
Worth mentioning if you want to swing a 33 Demarini is your only choice in usssa
True t series 1 and 2 33 5
Bro I was bout to cop the zoa then I got the cat 9 composite after watching this vid and hit two tanks with it in the next turni
Have you tried the 2022 USSSA Warstic Gunner?
seeing you in my teams home field is something else
I like the zoa better becouse you hit it harder and farther

Thank you so much for this video it was my biggest debate
Exactly why I bought the cat 9 over the zoa
marruci cat 9 composite -5 vs 2015 easton xl1 -5 vs 2017 demarini cf zen
I used the zoa
at a travel tournament this year and own both bats and me and my friends did a homerun derby I play 9u
In my opinion cat 9 is better. Because i read the reviews and many people are saying the bat cracks after a month and it’s overpriced. So yea
I broke the zen so hopefully the zoa is a good replacement love ur videos
Mans legit in Kansas City Royals stadium.
Early keep the good work I am loving the vids
Absolutely love Will wearing a chiefs hat and hitting nukes in Kauffman 💪
Do you rent that stadium or they just show you the " Bat bros" ❤️??? We wanna know brotha
The -5 Zoa has a smaller barrel than the other drops.
My all star team is getting ready to play in the state championship got any tips. Great ideo
I love that fact that will only where’s Jordan’s😆😆
Why haven't you reviewed the new two piece Mizuno composite yet? Nothing like prior models.
I agree
You swung the ZOA a lot better in the CS vs ZOA video.
Is the Cat9 composite and Cat9 composite pastime the same bat?
Question. If the Cat 9 Comp is your favorite drop 5 USSSA bat. Do you think it would also be your favorite drop 8 bat or not necessarily? Are there lots of things that can change between -5 to -8 besides weight?
It's just a slimmed-down version of the same tech, so I doubt that there would be much difference in -8 or -10
Cat 9 comp VS green zen VS Xl1?
y’all should do the green zen vs the cat 9 comp
I disagree that’s just a cosmetic issue on the ZOA. That’s between webbing and cracking. That bat is done in 200 swings or less
the demarini slowpitch bats (same continuous fiber composite tech) have that seam with almost every bat, and the seam just gets bigger and bigger over sometimes thousands of swings - and it's really common for the bat to end up breaking in a separate spot on the complete other side of the barrel
@@baseballbatbros ok, so since the ZOA’s are continuous, instead of woven fibers like the CF, this may not be as much on an issue. Is that right?
@@troyskinnard1393 exactly. Not a huge issue. It's gonna annoy a lot of people though probably
@@baseballbatbros oh yeah it will drive ppl crazy lol In usssa, this is one of the first bats to cross they $349 threshold.
