This was by far my most painful piercings. They had to hold my legs down for the second one. I'll never forget how bad they hurt. So worth it tho!!!! I've had mine almost 10 years now. I love them!!!
Having 18 piercings in total, I 'd have to say that the lip piercing was fairly painless..probably the most painless piercing after my septum (which didn't hurt at all). But, because of its location in the mouth, it feels kind of weird the first days, until the swelling goes down and you get used to it. Now, I don't even notice it...Totally worth it, but anyone considering having it, must take very oral hygiene very seriously, otherwise any infection in the mouth can turn very nasty...
@@diannagillis1084 None whatsoever, because the placing is perfect, the ring doesn't even touch my teeth or gums and even when I wear a stud instead of a ring, there is no contact. @@VolframSzabados My piercer told me to completely avoid any kind of mouthwash for the whole healing period, because it will irritate the piercing and prolong the healing time. Only toothpaste is allowed. After it is completely healed, then you can use mouthwash again.
i’ve had snake bites for about 3 years now and when i got the pierced i laughed in the studio cause i had worked my self up so much and it felt like nothing. biting you’re lip hurts so much more. now biting the post on accident. that’s a whole new kind of pain.
I'm 50 (cough) something y.o. and just got my tongue pierced...now looking at lip & eyebrow.....YOLO! haha Thanks for the videos, they do really help :)
I've had my lip piercing for nearly a year and for me the pain was on the same level as my nose piercing(5/10). Also to note for people who are looking to get this piercing, when going out to eat and your piercing is still in it's healing state bring a bottle of water(or a bottle of your salt water mix) with you so you can rinse your mouth after you eat. The first two days were the hardest to deal with when eating. Lastly if anyone is worried about wearing a face mask with a healing lip piercing, I asked my piercer the same when I got mine. She told me it's fine as long as the mask is clean.
Got snakebites when I was 13 at a “professional shop.” He went way too low and I’ve dealt with the gum erosion issue - it’s not pretty, it’s painful, and the only way to really fix it is a gum graft. Wish I would’ve seen this video 10 years ago 😬 but I’m about to go get them redone by a far more reputable piercer. Thanks Scott! ❤️
My doctor told me that lip piercings tend to hurt less than biting your lip (for some ppl) because biting your lip is more or a jagged injury, piercings are a very clean puncture so it in a way goes in between the skin cells.. if that make sense
that actually does make sense! i feel like needles are so sharp and glide through the skin so fast that it doesn’t register as painful as you biting your lip
I've had snakebites for a year now on this day. From MY experience, the pain was an easy 6 on the first one with an 8 on the second. My body was already like "whoa okay that was bad" with the first piercing, but with the second one immediately after, it was a pretty good shock(Note I have a pretty good pain tolerance). Firstly, the care process... Very easy to care for and maintain. Very sore for the first week and a half. Brush your teeth frequently and clean the outside just as often. Second... If you have any little bit of anxiety, double think this piercing. I had a habit of chewing on my lip or the inside of my lip if I was feeling anxious. After getting pierced this turned into chewing on the labret studs. VERY VERY hard habit to stop, and it lead to bad scar tissue that's only noticeable if you actually look for it. Third... Something NO ONE tells you... they stink. I'm a very hygienic person. Won't even check the mail if I think I don't have enough deodorant or cologne on, BUT no matter how much you clean them, no matter what you clean them with while healing and after they're healed they always have a very slight smell(I've heard it's from something your body is constantly releasing to heal bc your lips never quit trying to heal). It's definitely not just me because everyone I've talked to says the exact same thing. Fourth.... IF YOU DON'T WANT THEM TO BE NOTICEABLE or need them kind of gone for an event or something.....use a small clear retainer labret stud. Your piercings WILL heal to the point of no more pain and they can be changed BUT your lips and mouth never actually stop healing like other piercings. These aren't like ear-rings where you can say "ah well I'm gonna take them out for a couple days". HAAA no you won't, these piercings CAN and WILL heal and close up in hours, not days, HOURS!!! Sometimes as quick as 2 hours or so. Finally... ALWAYS make sure your ball is tight. I got mine pierced on this day last year(11-13-20). On thanksgiving of 2020(1-2 weeks later) in the middle of eating, I started chewing food and bit down on my bar, the ball came off and the bar came out of my lip(about a 4/10 with pain). Needless to say I jumped up and got in back in as quick as possible(5/10). Even after everything though, I love the piercings and glad I got them. I get a lot of compliments on them(this is 2021 lol) and girls love them for some reason lol(I'm a 27yo male). In my area in the last year I've only seen 1 other person with them.
not everybodys stinks, mine didn't stink at all. the only thing that is close to that would be that i had some puss come out but it wasn't that bad overall.
@@RespawnDG no i know! im just making sure that other people reading this wont think about that immediately because everything is always different for everybody. also mine technically isnt snakebites, i just have my right side done
Nobody tells you they stink maybe because every piercing can. Did you ever take out like an earring or something and sniffed it? Yeah. It's yucky. Thanks for the heads up though 👍
i have had a smiley, (gum piercing) for a while now and the hole hasnt closed up and i havent worn the jewlery for a few weeks now so its not that quick
I got a side labret about 3 months ago. For me the pain level was comparable with getting a flu shot or some type of needle in your arm. Just a tiny prick and it’s done. Biting your cheek 100% hurts way more. Love the videos!
Had the Medusa piercing done today. It wasnt bad at all. My piercer was super sweet and made it so easy. I hi-fived her at the end because I was so shocked at how quick and easy it was. If you want one go for it...it's easier than getting your blood draw or a shot in the arm. I felt the clamps more than the needle tbh and that wasn't bad at all...
i have 4 lip piercings (including my medusa) - i really like having super tight clamps because i feel like it somewhat numbs the area + distracts me from the pain. and great piercers are the best! when i got my septum done, i cried and my pierced was so worried i was in pain - i was crying because i had wanted a septum for so long and i told her this, and she just started complimenting me and made me cry harder, haha. piercers tend to be such incredible people
I'm in the process of booking snake bites and couldn't decide whether to get the medusa, first. Went with the former due to pain. I've got a good pain tolerance, but my anxiety is awful, so I'm trying to big myself up. Wish me luck 😅
@@telechubby2310 You got this! Go for it! I have anxiety too, but I think the piercer you choose really matters. Mine was super nice to me. I told her I’ll be back to get another one but wouldn’t get it if she wasn’t there 😂
@@loridori Got it booked for Friday. I've already got 9 piercings and 5 of those have been done by my current piercer who's super nice, so I'm in safe hands. I'm literally just anxious of the pain
I had snakebites, both of them pierced at different time (about a year or 2 apart) and it was painless! And I can’t handle pain as good as most people so if you’re afraid, don’t be, if you go to a professional you won’t feel a thing. Just be careful with the aftercare, that’s the most important. Had my lip piercings for about 5-6 years btw, kind of impulsively removed them about a year ago but I still feel like I have them, they were a big part of my self expression
The k you, getting mine done tomorrow and I’m just scared lol. I passed out but remained awake getting a cannula but I’m really chill with blood tests and injections so I’m just nervous lol
I’m getting two lip piercings today after college and the video and these comments are really helpful and have made me feel a bit better about getting them 😭
I've had snake bites for roughly 10 years (I have a fair amount of facial piercings now) lip didn't hurt, and my eyebrow was the same. The worse pain with lip was getting used to it and trying not to bite it when eating. Make sure you take oral hygiene seriously. Sweat build up can make the piercing smell cheesey, just keep up with hygiene.
I had snakebites done on my 18th birthday. They were virtually painless. Swelling and healing was a bit uncomfortable, but nothing serious. Had them for almost 10 years, and even with no jewelry in them for 3+ years, they're still open.
So glad I found this channel. Very upbeat and straight to the point. I got a lip piercing a week ago, and I do agree that it's an easy one to sit through. When they put the jewellery in I would say it's slightly eye watering but not particularly painful. (Like your body is kind of over-reacting a little just because it's a touch-sensitive area) Much less fuss than when you get a nostril piercing and the jewellery is getting inserted. If you've sat through a helix it's honestly less pain as the tissue is softer to pierce. The swelling was quite dramatic but not painful. Felt quite funny to have a fat lip for a few days, and the swelling was pretty even on both sides of the lip so it just looked like I got lip filler lol. Crusties were frequent, but not much fluid and not too annoying. I am rarely getting any now after 1 week of healing. Eating is back to normal now, it was only weird to deal with during the swelling period. You learn very quickly. I do tend to go more on the "leave it alone completely" side than the salt soaks thing, but I was swishing around some strong antiseptic/numbing mouth wash (only available from a pharmacy) after every meal and I found that to be suitable. Even though the lip piercing gets moved around a lot, it doesn't seem to get irritated only the skin at the entrance of the hole is slightly red. It's a place with solid blood flow so I personally found that it didn't require much hassle at all. The mouth wash after meals is so easy to do, that I would say this has been as easy to care for (wound-wise) as a lobe piercing. If you are finding the first 1-2 days of swelling harder to eat with, I found that things like hot chips were easy to navigate eating-wise and sandwiches/pizza were not so easy. I honestly just ate hot chips for dinner for like 2 days and then the swelling had decreased significantly by that point, and I had gained experience eating. I am someone who struggles to heal so I was taking vitamins a week leading up to the piercing and it has healed fantastically, even though I got 2 other piercings on the same session.
I had my lip pierced in the same area 4 times because I went through phases of my life where I thought I was done with it, but I wasn’t. So I got my lip re-pierced on Feb 1st 2023 for the 5th time now. It was also pretty painless this time around. Now 6 weeks in, the lip piercing looks and feels fully healed… will be permanently keeping it this time lol.
Hi ! Did you keep having a hole/scar after removing them ? I really want to do this piercing but I'm scared to keep having a hole the day I don't want it anymore.
i've had my lip pierced for about 4 years now and in the early stages I experienced bruising, swelling and slight discomfort but overall it was fairly painless and was about a 3/10 and my third least painful piercing after my septum and tongue. remember to go to an experienced piercer due to the fact that if the piercing is too close to the corners of the lip it may look really funky and vise versa for the opposite. and istg wash your piercings daily it makes it 100x easier!
Hey i got my left bottom lip pierced two and a half days ago, and i can confirm that biting your lips or cheek hard is a fair bit worse than the piercing. When it was coming out the other side was the most painful part but still wasn't as bad as biting yourself hard
I had snake bites in high school. I’m 31 now. I wish I knew the bit about rings back then. I may have them redone. If so, I’ll definitely go with the spike studs this time. I did find the piercing to be rather painful from memory. I have full sleeves and neck tattoos that were easier to get.
i just turned 14 getting my lip pierced. there was no pain, im a literal baby and cant take needles but i laughed when the needle was going through. they use a clamp while doing this of course, and the clamp hurts more than the needle (the clamp doesnt hurt, its just adding sorta compression to your lips) the healing process wasn't too bad. just make sure to wash your piercing after you wake up, after every time you eat, and before bed. im not a professional or anything but i did that and my piercing is healthy (its been 7 months now!) i havent watched the video yet so idk if he says this, but switching from the starter bar to a hoop ring will cause a little irritation and swelling because it is curving your lip. but it wasnt too bad, my mind was focusing more on the look than the pain :) hope this helps too
I had a normal labret for 7 years, but after it began to erode my gums, I had it pierced into a vertical labret and I’ve honestly never looked back and my teeth have greatly thanked me for it!
Thanks dude. Every time i get a piercing i don’t give it a lot of thought and afterwards panic for a while, but then come see your videos and calm tf down.😂 keep up the videos
Just got it done hrs ago... I've watched this and so many getting the courage to do it. .. I regret it.... Did not hurt at all... No swelling.... Just gonna take care of after care.
I have bitten the side of my mouth, countless times and it hurts. But when the pain starts to level out, I have repeated it. Ooouuuccchhhhhh. I am planning to have a snakebite piercing very soon. I did the same when I had my tongue pierced. Before and after. Yyyyyiiiiiukkkkeeeeeessssss. Love your videos Rob.
just got my snake bites done and wow, i was not expected it to hurt as little as it did. it still hurt, yes, but i was expecting so much worse. i’ve always heard that since the lips have so many nerve endings, it’s one of the worst piercings. i just have to disagree now i have a labret, a medusa, and snake bites. honestly, they probably hurt less than my cartilage piercings in my nose and ears. super fast, super simple, relatively easy, and the swelling is actually not too bad either!
I've been wanting this piercing since I was a kid but my mom took a hard stance against it, then college and internships/professionalism in my field kept be from really considering it. Now I'm working from home four days a week in a different field and I think I'm ready to ready to dust off that trigger so I can pull it! This will be my first piercing at 28. Thanks for the information!
This was my very first piercing when I was 18 I think? And I love it, still wear it (I currently am 35). Looks nice and cool and doesn't hurt at all. Everyone should get their lips pierced imo 😛. I love it because there's a lot of options you can use in this piercing. I've worn captive bead rings, labrets (with simply a bead or flashy gems), rings, clickers, etc. This is a great piercing.
i’ve read some comments saying it stinks :( does urs stink? (sorry if it’s a weird question) i really want to get my lip pierced but i am soooo scared of infections or it stinking…
My lip was 0/10 basically painless n the healing was easy , no swelling no redness just crusties i did struggle with eating a lot at first tho I’d definitely get a 2nd one to make spider or snake bites !!
I had snake bites and my nose pierced at the same time and I thought that the nose piercing was the worst. Biting your lip hurts a lot more then the lip piercing itself. I have spider bites now and my septum, my nipples and a vertical labret and I thought the nostril piercing was the most painful! I love your videos so much!!!!
I got my lip pierced yesterday and had to remove it due to pain, i have a fairly high pain threshold, but when i went to get the piercing done, the piercer was not as experienced with lip piercings. She pierced wrong the first try and stabbed through my lip then had to remove needle and do it over again to get it in the right spot, then when putting the clamps on she kept shaking and slipping and ended up almost tearing my lip off(what it felt like) and the clamps rubbed so hard against my gums that it went raw. I removed the entire piercing when i got home because my mouth was so swollen and raw that i’d rather let it heal and get redone by someone with way better experience that wouldn’t put me through so much pain. I expect pain with piercings and tattoos, but this was just excessive and unnecessary pain that could be avoided if i had the right piercer. Therefore, DO RESEARCH AND GET A PIERCER THAT IS EXPERIENCED AND WON’T HURT YOU FOR NO REASON.
Honestly I it yesterday and for me personally it really hurt. I have multiple piercings and for me it was definitely in my top three of most painful piercings I got so far.
Never got it done first time but I want to go get it done so I’m watching your videos to see how it looks. I don’t care about the pain. I love pain that how I know I’m alive.
I barely felt the needle going trough deffinitly an easy piercing also one tip is white stuff can form around the inner part but can easily be removed with your tounge it's kinda like crust but for the inside
I just got snake bites and I rated pain for about 6/10. I got helix, earlobe and nose piercings before, so not that many comparisons. Pain is short and not to the point of screaming, but for me it hurt maybe 8 hours afterwards, dull constant pain. Definitely manageable. Waking up with bruises on the inside of the lip wasn't the best thing ever though, but those go away once morning puffiness goes away (can't say I didn't panic a bit). Eating is quite difficult, so you have to only have small bites and carefully chew. Friend said she got used to it in a month, so we will see
My lip swelled so much that I had to change it out to a circular barbell within a few days of piercing because it was squeezing way too much, like leaving an indent on the back of my lip in the shape of the flat back. The angle of my piercing makes it so that my ring doesn’t even touch my tooth or gum, so that’s not a factor for me. My nostril was more painful than my lip, go get one, it’s fun
Thank you for this video. I’ve watched this video a couple of times considering should I get a lip piercing and I did it today and I got my first lip piercing and I love it.
I just had my dolphin bites piercing, and its not painful at all, yes, swelling occurs for a couple of days but it's tolerable...;) thanks Scott for all the tips!💯👏🏼
ive had snakebites for 8 and 9 years (got each one a year apart) and yea the pain really is not bad at all. I would say biting your lip hurts more, and a canker sore is a million times more painful! They are pretty much zero maintenence now cause it's been so many years, just give them a brush and take out and clean jewelry once in a while and everything is rosie. Even if i get them caught on something or pulled on it doesnt hurt at all anymore
@@isaiahnorwood9529 depends on the angle of the piercing, so if the back of your labret or ring is rubbing on your gums all day then yea, that could lead to gum recession. and if you wear a metal labret and it gets stuck on your teeth and you bite it by accident you could chip a tooth. but easy way to avoid that is just wearing bioplast or bioflex labrets, which are soft plastics that are safe for piercings. When i wear labrets i only use those kinds cause i dont wanna chip teeth haha
i pierced my lip months ago and it ,, hurt quite a bit . yes , piercing at home is a bad idea , but i still did it anyway . i love the way it looks though . definitely hurt more than biting your lip . and if not done right : it bleeds a lot .
After probably a year or two of thinking about it, I finally got my snake bites two days ago! Gotta say I 100% agree with the pain scale, it didn't even make me tear up (My eyebrow certainly did!) Hoping the healing process will be speedy and easy so I can get these giant bars out my mouth before I chip a tooth on em xD
I got mine yesterday and it didn't hurt as bad as I thought, getting my blood drawn hurt more honestly lol, after it just feels like you bit your lip, not too distracting or painful
I got cyber bites, got my bottom lip done before my top. The bottom was sooo easy and quick. Easy heal, so smooth. The medusa though... swelling for 2 weeks, bled sometimes while it was healing and took a significant amount of time to heal. I love them both though. Symmetry is fun
Have had my snakebites for 6 months now, and I love them a lot! Here's some things tho: - The piercer put some numbing stuff on my lip so idk how much it actually hurt, I barely felt anything - My lip is very thin, so I have to go for a 6mm post or else it will rub against the gums/teeth. The right size is so, so important!! - I can't wear rings without getting the piercings infected. But idk if it's a personal thing bc I've heard other ppl are just fine with it Other than that, super fun piercing that heals quick when taken good care of :)
Got the left side of my lip pierced yesterday, honestly it was fairly painless just a slight nip, just a bit swollen now and a bit hard to eat due to swelling
Im looking to get my lip pierced in a month or so, this video was very helpful! Im looking at getting bioplast to help prevent damage on the teeth. I hope all goes well :D
i just got my lip and nostril pierced a couple days ago. and id have to say, the lip did not hurt whatsoever. but the nostril hurt SO bad, worse than most people say its supposed to. But the pain from that went away pretty quick compared to eating the first time with my lip stud. HOLY CATS did that hurt my teeth, Im lucky they didnt chip. So far so good though in terms of pain managment. My lip did swell a little but not nearly as bad as others ive seen.
I’ve had snake bites lip piercings for about 10 years now , I think biting the inside of my lip /cheek on accident does hurt a lot more than when I got my lip piercings pierced 😂
@@MrBabyHag oh no not at all ! I use labret jewelry that is “ bioplast “ material rather than surgical steel / titanium . I also have had my Medusa pierced for about 5 years and never had any issues with that either using bioplast 👍🏻
Getting my snakes bites didn't hurt nearly as bad as biting my lip. On a scale of 1-10 it was probably only a 3. I did get horseshoe rings in for my piercing which moves a lot and was irritating at first but it's not too terrible.
for me personally getting my lip done felt about the same as getting a shot at the doctors so far this has been true of all my piercings really i just got my eyebrow done about a week ago and that actually hurt even less than my others but take this with a grain of salt as everyone's pain threshold is different.
I got my lip pierced and i can tell you, its pretty bad in terms of pain but its not like sufering bad, i do recommend that you find someone who will do it quickly and accurately because if they go semy slow trust me you'll feel every miniscule layer of skin tissue, it felt horrible but the result was a good looking snake bite
I had a lip piercing as a teen, put in a retainer because my workplace wouldn't let me have the ring, and chipped my tooth. Took out the retainer, the back healed up. Still have a hole that's only got this tiny little flap of tissue on one side so I can't put any jewelry through it. Sucks because it looks like I have a lip piercing still but can't wear anything through it. Didn't hurt at all to get done though.
hey scott!! i’ve been thinking about getting a lip piercing and am wondering if wearing masks and masks rubbing up against a fresh piercing like that would potentially cause problems or infections?
I have my lip done chances are it won’t if you have one of those medical masks or maybe one a little bit bigger then your face but still fits basically as long as it’s not tight on your face you should be good👍
I got my lip done in September and have worn a mask regularly since it caused no issue (with fabric ones the fluff got cought around the ball so stick with surgical ones and try not to reuse a mask for infection
I have had my snakebites since I was 19 and I got the middle of my lip pierced when I was 23 they have healed up nicely I don't wear studs bc they rub on my gums that's why I wear hoops lol
My lip and nostril were absolutely the easiest ones. Lip more so than the nose. Three days of swelling and then it was fine. Super fast healing, since it doesn't get bumped/rubbed/slept on like a lot of others. Did it when covid hit and I had to wear a mask at work anyway lol
There really wasn't any pain involved when I got my lip pierced. Only issue I encountered was the swelling the first few days on the first one. Just got my second one done earlier today an back through the same process but still had little pain.
The right side of my lip was actually my very first body piercing and absolutely loved having it but wear just the one for a couple years, and I recently about 2 or 3 months ago got my labret done just because it’s the only piercing I haven’t had in my bottom lip, and pain wise I fucking hate lip piercings! I think they hurt like hell! Obviously not the worst because I have a lot more body mods that hurt a lot worse😂 but that’s my opinion on it, keep the videos coming man! And hope you have a good thanksgiving!
i have an anti eyebrow, eyebrow, and lip piercing, i take pain pretty well but i thought that my lip piercing hurt more than the eyebrow and anti eyebrow combined. totally worth it though
Can't speak to eyebrow piercings but I'd say lip was definitely up there, honestly though what I've found with all of the ones I've got is that the needle isn't so bad. Healing isn't too troublesome but boy does pulling the first jewelry through hurt.
@@SuperMike32 with the piercings i have, i never felt when my piercer pulled the jewelry thru. healing process for lip piercing was very annoying because i chose a hoop, big mistake haha.
the piercer that did my industrial he said to take a Camila(?) teabag in low warm water and put it on your piercing to keep the swelling a little down (idk how to write the name of the tea sorry English is not my first language 😅😭)
I did both mine myself so it was the usual fast piercer doing it for you, but my pals said i was quick. The first one was fine n the second one made my eyes water but overall fine. i have about 0 pain level i can go through anything
I had snake bites done a few days ago, the 1st one didnt hurt at all, the second one felt like a pinch. The only parts that irritated me was the woman putting the jewellery in. It didnt swell straight away, only a few hours later. Biggest it swelled up is on day 3, doesnt really get in my way, just cant eat sandwiches or anything you need to press your lips together to eat as it does hurt a little 👍🏻😊

@@whitney2854 I was just speaking from terms based on myself and people that I’ve talked too. I didn’t have any puss though come from mine.
Jealous of all the people saying they had no pain, mine hurt like a bitch
It was alright. I feel like my nostril piercing hurt more than the lip.
@@littlemissobvious933 I had my septum done at the same time and for some reason it hurt less than the snake bites I got
i did 2 days ago and it did not hurt at all
I did mine 24 hours ago and it was very uncomfortable.
@@batmanlikespizza2541 same here
I got a side labret about 3 months ago.
I watch you every time I’m thinking about getting a piercing
Hi ! Do you keep having a hole after removing them ? I really want to do this piercing but I'm scared to keep having a hole if one day I put them off.
Is there a noticeable holes when you have no jewellery in?
I got shark bites when I was 13, took two out when I was 18. I'm 22 now and the two are closed. I'm so sad lmao
@@kyukyuwu noticeable upclose but not from like a few feet away. At least with mine.
@@sagegraydoes anything go through the hole? Like saliva or air? I never got a piercing at all but I’m planning on it
So glad I found this channel.
What did you use too clean it?
@@faizmalik3719 I just used an anti-septic mouthwash from the chemist. The lip healed really easily -lots of blood flow there. Minor crusties.
Hi, thank you for this! Very helpful for those of us who can’t decide yet, haha
I just got mine done today. Didn't hurt at all. I had trouble eating dinner but thats to be expected. Biting your cheek by accident hurts more!
I'm getting my lip pierced on Monday and this has been tremendously helpful. thank you!
i've had my lip pierced for about 4 years now and in the early stages I experienced bruising, swelling and slight discomfort but overall it was fairly painless and was about a 3/10 and my third least painful piercing after my septum and tongue. remember to go to an experienced piercer due to the fact that if the piercing is too close to the corners of the lip it may look really funky and vise versa for the opposite. and istg wash your piercings daily it makes it 100x easier!
I'm on my second set of snake bites and this time I'm at 2mm. I love lip piercings and they really don't hurt that bad at all.
I love my lip ring! It was pretty painless overall. Worst part was the swelling.
i just turned 14 getting my lip pierced. there was no pain, im a literal baby and cant take needles but i laughed when the needle was going through. they use a clamp while doing this of course, and the clamp hurts more than the needle (the clamp doesnt hurt, its just adding sorta compression to your lips) the healing process wasn't too bad. just make sure to wash your piercing after you wake up, after every time you eat, and before bed. im not a professional or anything but i did that and my piercing is healthy (its been 7 months now!) i havent watched the video yet so idk if he says this, but switching from the starter bar to a hoop ring will cause a little irritation and swelling because it is curving your lip. but it wasnt too bad, my mind was focusing more on the look than the pain :) hope this helps too
I’m getting my lip pierced tomorrow and I’m so excitedxxx
Keep em coming Scott!
Thanks for watching!
Your video is absolutely professional in every capacity. Great tone and super informative. Thank you very much!!
Love your videos Rob.
just got my snake bites done and wow, i was not expected it to hurt as little as it did. it still hurt, yes, but i was expecting so much worse. i’ve always heard that since the lips have so many nerve endings, it’s one of the worst piercings. i just have to disagree
now i have a labret, a medusa, and snake bites. honestly, they probably hurt less than my cartilage piercings in my nose and ears. super fast, super simple, relatively easy, and the swelling is actually not too bad either!
Did u get both done at once? (Snake bites)
(sorry if it’s a weird question) i really want to get my lip pierced but i am soooo scared of infections or it stinking…
should i take mine out the lip is trying to eat the inside disk or should i get a bigger bar
My lip was 0/10 basically painless n the healing was easy , no swelling no redness just crusties i did struggle with eating a lot at first tho
I’d definitely get a 2nd one to make spider or snake bites !!
im 14 and just got one done, didn't hurt to bad and its easy to take care of.
I have 13 piercings & the side labret was the worst, talking about pain.
But it healed very well in two months
PLEASE keep making these videos, these are so helpful
Thanks for watching!
I had snake bites and my nose pierced at the same time and I thought that the nose piercing was the worst. Biting your lip hurts a lot more then the lip piercing itself. I have spider bites now and my septum, my nipples and a vertical labret and I thought the nostril piercing was the most painful!
I love your videos so much!!!!
the pain level honestly depends on who you are like ofc it's going to hurt but it's also like "that's it?" so don't stress about it just do it
I got my lip pierced yesterday and had to remove it due to pain, i have a fairly high pain threshold, but when i went to get the piercing done, the piercer was not as experienced with lip piercings.
Getting snake bites on the 3rd of july!!! So exited its my first piercing (minus the ear piercings)
I just got mine done, 4 total actually all on the lower lip. You maybe feel the needle for like .2 of a second then it’s all green again
I barely felt the needle going trough deffinitly an easy piercing also one tip is white stuff can form around the inner part but can easily be removed with your tounge it's kinda like crust but for the inside
You’re killing the game man
I just got snake bites and I rated pain for about 6/10.
I agree with you, it doesn't hurt much at all
Awesome video man!! Very helpful
Biting the inside of my mouth hurts a hell of a lot more than the piercing did.
ive had snakebites for 8 and 9 years (got each one a year apart) and yea the pain really is not bad at all. I would say biting your lip hurts more, and a canker sore is a million times more painful! They are pretty much zero maintenence now cause it's been so many years, just give them a brush and take out and clean jewelry once in a while and everything is rosie. Even if i get them caught on something or pulled on it doesnt hurt at all anymore
i just got my spider bites is it true it will damage your teeth and gums over time ?
@@isaiahnorwood9529 depends on the angle of the piercing, so if the back of your labret or ring is rubbing on your gums all day then yea, that could lead to gum recession. and if you wear a metal labret and it gets stuck on your teeth and you bite it by accident you could chip a tooth. but easy way to avoid that is just wearing bioplast or bioflex labrets, which are soft plastics that are safe for piercings. When i wear labrets i only use those kinds cause i dont wanna chip teeth haha
top you tuber.....your voice is soooooooo soothing lol....xxxx
i would genuinely compare the pain level to a lobe piercing it barely hurt for me and its been an extremely easy piercing so far i recommend it 🤟
THANK YOU LITERALLY SO MUCH!! I HAVE BEEN THINKING OF GETTING A LIP PIERCING! :D im gonna get it this weekend lol
Thanks for the vid Scott, loved it. I now have a clearer view of it and i think i definitely want to get it on both sides
Thanks for watching!
i pierced my lip months ago and it ,, hurt quite a bit . yes , piercing at home is a bad idea , but i still did it anyway . i love the way it looks though . definitely hurt more than biting your lip . and if not done right : it bleeds a lot .
We appreciate you!!!💛
After probably a year or two of thinking about it, I finally got my snake bites two days ago! Gotta say I 100% agree with the pain scale, it didn't even make me tear up (My eyebrow certainly did!)
Hoping the healing process will be speedy and easy so I can get these giant bars out my mouth before I chip a tooth on em xD
Yay another video thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Have had my snakebites for 6 months now, and I love them a lot! Here's some things tho:
- The piercer put some numbing stuff on my lip so idk how much it actually hurt, I barely felt anything
- My lip is very thin, so I have to go for a 6mm post or else it will rub against the gums/teeth. The right size is so, so important!!
- I can't wear rings without getting the piercings infected. But idk if it's a personal thing bc I've heard other ppl are just fine with it
Other than that, super fun piercing that heals quick when taken good care of :)
Got the left side of my lip pierced yesterday, honestly it was fairly painless just a slight nip, just a bit swollen now and a bit hard to eat due to swelling
I'm getting snakebites in honour of the rawring 20s
I only got it done yesterday and yes I'd say it hurts a bit more than biting your lip
Im looking to get my lip pierced in a month or so, this video was very helpful! Im looking at getting bioplast to help prevent damage on the teeth. I hope all goes well :D
I have two lip peircings like that and it really doesn’t hurt
i just got my lip and nostril pierced a couple days ago. and id have to say, the lip did not hurt whatsoever. but the nostril hurt SO bad, worse than most people say its supposed to. But the pain from that went away pretty quick compared to eating the first time with my lip stud. HOLY CATS did that hurt my teeth, Im lucky they didnt chip. So far so good though in terms of pain managment. My lip did swell a little but not nearly as bad as others ive seen.
yeah, they definitely hurt less than when i bite my cheek/tongue!
I’ve had snake bites lip piercings for about 10 years now , I think biting the inside of my lip /cheek on accident does hurt a lot more than when I got my lip piercings pierced 😂
has it caused any gum/teeth problems?
@@MrBabyHag oh no not at all ! I use labret jewelry that is “ bioplast “ material rather than surgical steel / titanium . I also have had my Medusa pierced for about 5 years and never had any issues with that either using bioplast 👍🏻
@@Duberyan aaah thank you SO MUCH!!!
I have mine done, and i wear it all the time ❤ (a ring the barbell irritates my teeth and gums) one of my favorite piercings fr lol
I trust you with my life thanks King
I thought studs were less risky than rings but apparently no
Got my lip piercing when I turned 21 they don't hurt as bad when you first them
My lip and nostril were absolutely the easiest ones. Lip more so than the nose. Three days of swelling and then it was fine. Super fast healing, since it doesn't get bumped/rubbed/slept on like a lot of others. Did it when covid hit and I had to wear a mask at work anyway lol
Can you make a video explaining different sizes of the traditional lip piercing??
Dude you are great thanks
Of all my piercings the lip hurt the most. I never had complaints about my 5 piercings. But that shit HURT!!!!!!
i can’t figure out how worried i should be about gum and teeth problems. i’m terrified of it and id not know if the piercing is worth it
the piercer that did my industrial he said to take a Camila(?) teabag in low warm water and put it on your piercing to keep the swelling a little down (idk how to write the name of the tea sorry English is not my first language 😅😭)
Thank you! So very helpful!
I just got mine pierced yesterday. Didn't hurt just felt like a small pinch. The swelling is still there but not as bad as it was yesterday
I did both mine myself so it was the usual fast piercer doing it for you, but my pals said i was quick. The first one was fine n the second one made my eyes water but overall fine. i have about 0 pain level i can go through anything
Can you show me please? I really want this done!
I had snake bites done a few days ago, the 1st one didnt hurt at all, the second one felt like a pinch. The only parts that irritated me was the woman putting the jewellery in. It didnt swell straight away, only a few hours later. Biggest it swelled up is on day 3, doesnt really get in my way, just cant eat sandwiches or anything you need to press your lips together to eat as it does hurt a little 👍🏻😊
I'm getting snake bites this Wednesday and I'm so nervous it's my first percing since I was a baby for my ears
