For the charcoal vs brown debate, if you can only keep one I would keep the brown! I think it is actually a more flattering color, it really made your skin pop! (But I vote for keeping both!)
Adding to the vote to keep both!!
I agree! The brown made your face pop!
100% agree and meant to comment when you wore it in your Gallery Wall video that you looked radiant in it.
I personally love the Brown shirt way more than the charcoal. The Brown just looks so nice against your complexion.
I loooove your clothing! Just FYI that for knitted items it's best not to hang them, as it can stretch and damage the fabrics
Amen on the knits. Should be folded or even better rolled and stored in bins or baskets.
I love that you have such a reduced closet. I moved internationally last year and got rid of 50% of my clothes, and then at the end of the year last year got rid of another 50% (now down to 25% of original wardrobe) and I feel so much freer, but still feel like I probably need to let go of more (currently have 1XL suitcase + 1 medium suitcase worth of clothing), will probably get rid of more in the summer
Hi Alexandra - Creating a mood board with the outfits planned out and actually having it visible is a great idea. Definitely helps with decision fatigue. Brings me back to seeing the outfit coordinator system in the film Clueless, I thought back then how useful it would be and this is definitely a great way to get creative and not feel overwhelmed when it comes to clothing/outfits.
Stay safe and well x :-)
I was also thinking that’s so Cher ! Love it
Yesss. The brown one is such a beautiful color!
Yes! I was expecting James to use that clip from Clueless!
When I was younger I used to not care about how I looked because I didn't care what other people thought. What I realized is that not only was I not dressing for other people, but I wasn't dressing for me either. That's when I decided to start caring how I look but for myself. I read book years ago called "Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui" and it forever changed my relationship with clothes. It said we only wear about 20% of our closet and that we really should only have things we really love. When you open your closet you should want to wear everything! For a few years now I have only been buying clothes I love, no basic anything, everything has to be something that makes me happy. A plain t-shirt does not make me happy, doesn't have to be fancy but maybe a color I love or with a little ruffle or something. It's taken a few years but now I never worry about an event or clothes for traveling because I know my closet is only full of things I love to wear.
Wow, what a minimal, and absolutely gorgeous wardrobe!
super impressed with the scale of your wardrobe-- even the before felt like not so much! I hunted down that brown Old Navy top after you wore it in a recent video & I love it! I think you should keep both the brown and the black-- the brown looks great with your hair color!
Such cute outfits. Im 67 and i love ruffles. I have a picture of me when i was probably 3 or 4 and i was in a ruffle top. Somethings never change i guess. The sweater at the end is adorable and quite stylish.
Everything is cute and girly! Not my style, but definitely yours, and it suits you so well!
I think you should do something about the longer pieces that you hung up but sit on the shelf below, like your jumpsuits and long dresses - It can create sooo much wrinkles on some pieces and it's such a hassle to steam later - you should do a double hanger situation (one for the shoulders, one with clips for the legs) or fold the pants legs up and back onto their hangers, it helps with the wrinkling and avoids the clothes picking up the dust than inevitably gets on the bottom shelf! ;)
You might try adding a cup or two of vinegar to the rinse cycle to take the smell out of clothes
The rusty brown looks really good on you, so definitely a keeper.
Yes, I just organized my closet earlier this week. I separate by categories strap shirts, short sleeves, long sleeves, cardigans, sweaters, workout shirts, dresses. Etc. And within those categories I color coded the clothes - huge difference!!! If I think of a shirt or sweater I know exactly where it’s at based on category and color it’s in. Así last year, I organized our drawers in my own version of Marie Condo folding technique and it’s been great. Even my husband is able to keep his drawers organized and find his stuff! So good.
I totally have to pick out my outfits including shoes and jewelry the night before. I’m 52 and have been doing it since I was in 6th grade. Thank you for linking everything.
I love the floral sweater that you were wearing at the end. It's just cute and it actually looks great on you.
The smell comes from the chemicals everything is sprayed with at the docks when they are imported. Denim is a chemically treated cotton and retains the smell. Soaking them in vinegar helps.
11:55 Pink Jumpsuit yesssssss!
Great look.
Moodboarding clothing is extra AND its helpful! I have insane moodboards with color palette and more. Its a lot but its sooo fun!
Voting for both the black and the brown--the brown would look fantastic with cream or white pants!
Two pairs of jeans - wow really! Kudos to you for streamlining your closet. I clearly am a maximalist of everything - clothing, decor, accessories ! The more layers of colour, patterns, jewelry the better . Wearable art!
I'm a big proponent of finding pieces you love and getting it in multiple colors!
Where are your polka dot dresses from?
I take polaroids of my outfits and pin them on my mirror! I ave over 16 now and it's so fun and time saving!!
I notice that most people hang up their winter and summer clothes together. I always switch out and hang, summer in summer and winter in winter and then I put the opposite seasonal clothes in a large storage bin at the bottom of my closet. 😊
Pinboards for your clothes are fabulous.
Quick tip to assist you with your pinboards, is to organise your wardrobe in their colour groups.😍
Hey, i had the same problem as you with a pair of jeans... if you want to get rid of the smell, soak them in vinegar before washing and add a bit more vinegar in the washing machine. Washing one or two times this way should do the trick
the brown terracotta is just so beautiful, if you like the black too, keep both if theyre so comfy
Mood board your clothes 😲 mind blown!!! It’s so not extra, I love this idea 🧡🧡🧡
I mood board outfits before traveling! Helps so much with overpacking and I feel fab my entire trip.
To remove smell, you could try adding 1/2 cup of baking soda to the wash. I like the brown top better for you.
That moodboard idea is the best!!!! I am totally gonna do that!
The brown one is the one! That color looks great on you.
Mood boarding the closet is a great idea so you have everything basically right in front of you , just like in Clueless! ❤️
Me in every decluttering - keeping, keepimg, keeping, also keeping, and this one too🤣🤣🤣🤣
I mood board everything. It keeps my brain clear and starts my day drama free. ❤️
I would keep both colors.
You are the reason I wear jumpsuits! I wear mainly old navy jumpsuits.
They are so comfortable and cute!
For those who like the Free People tunic that is expensive. Oak and Ivy sell a dupe (and it frequently goes on sale at Sporting Life for $50) and O'Neil has a dupe as well which you can find at Sport Chek (also goes on sale frequently for $50). I own the O'Neil and the Free People one, the O'Neil runs big so size down, its a pretty good dupe the Free People one is thicker and the mock neck holds its structure a bit better but its a fantastic option if you can't drop over 200$ on a sweater.
I really like the idea of doing moodboards of your outfits! Also I think you need a khaki or cream pair of jeans. Or both! Yay!
Just 2 pairs of jeans over here as well 👍👖 we don't need more, really 😂👏 there's all this other fashion life outside of jeans. Also, I had that idea of creating a moodboard for my clothes, but never had the time 😂👍 it really seems a brilliant idea. Organise it by seasons, so it's easier to pick styles according to the weather 😉👌
I think is a great idea. I'll consider doing the same thing. Great work on ur closet n great clothes.
It’s impressive how little you have. But all curated, quality pieces. I have a monstrous amount of clothing. I need to get ruthless.
The flower-print cardigan you wear again towards the end of the video is so joyful - it is a tea party in an English garden as a sweater. I hope you get lots of opportunities to enjoy it.
What you don't have in jeans you have in jumpsuits and overalls :) I like the floral sweater you ended up wearing during the last scene of this video.
Fr I wanna know where it’s from idk why it’s not linked
I'm obsessed with that floral cardigan you're wearing at the end. I need that in my life. And I feel like I won't be satisfied until I find IT or something very similar.
You own very little so organizing was a breeze; not like most of us;wish I could truly live on a capsule wardrobe. Still have items that I hope to fit into or sentimental reasons . I loved that first white blouse but then again I love it all.
I love the warm colors on you, I think they go better with your complexion than the dark blues, cool pinks, and blacks.
Regarding the not so cute white aritzia top, I think it’ll help to talk to an expert or read about what suits our body shape best. As a petite, rectangular- bodied person with a long torso, fitted crop tops have been great for me! Sadly things that look cute on the rack will never be worn if we don’t feel our best in them!
Love your minimalist closet 😍
Oh and I do the same, I have 3 sisters and a mom where we can all wear the same clothes. So I send those to Washington state and they pick off my stuff 😆
That heart pom pom sweater is perfect for valentines day. Keep both black and brown shirt. The black would look great tucked into your skirt.
Definitely time to pass it on if you don’t feel comfy in it!
Hang everything withe the hangers facing the back of the closet and after a year anything still hanging backwards can go.
Perrrrfect timing bc I keep avoiding going through my closet even though I desperately need to! Love the mood board for outfits idea, I definitely need to do that too
Me too! I just keep the doors closed on my closet.
Love all the ruffles!! ✨🤗 You did such a good job editing :)) ❤️ sooo hard!
omg that brown (I would actually call it rust) blouse is sooooo cute
Hey Alexandra what is the label of the floral cardigan? The link for floral sweater shows zero results and I think that was for the pink floral sweater anyway. Absolutely obsessed with the floral cardigan, the one you were wearing when you made your outfit doc. Thanks girl 🙏🏼😊💗
Where is the cropper floral sweater from
Where is the floral cardigan from?! It’s fantastic!
I have so few clothes for any season that I don't need to think , in summer I just need to make sure that it is ironed ( yes not a good choice to pick stuff that needs an iron but I do love my choices )
Oh my goodness Anne of Green Gables, that is a lot of brown and puffed sleeves! I feel like you would like Boden clothes. Mood-boarding outfits is great if it works for you!
I would combine the sleeveless black top from aritzia with wide jeans, or any other bottom that creates volume for a more balanced siluete.
I vote Brown! It was far more flattering than the charcoal/black
I had a corporate job where I had to dress up but didn't have any clue how to. A friend of mine, who worked as a personal shopper, took a whole day and dressed me in different outfits that all came out of my closet. We made photos and I printed all of them and stuck them on my closet door. Best. Thing. Ever. It also helped to determine the pieces that were actually missing from my wardrobe so I could focus on those when out clothes shopping. In my current job nobody cares about my outfits (as long as I have clothes on) but I would definitely fall back on the photo support if I had to.
What a nice friend!
Well done. I love a good declutter.
the black old navy top is okay, but the brown one looks soooo much better. idk if it's your skin tone or something, but it looked better
Ok but like what’s your postmark to buy your cute stuff ??
Good job 👍. Tip: pick your clothes out the night before…that way you won’t just grab something, you can plan it👏😊
Keep both. Charcoal and brown.
You didn't show any dresses & I know I've seen you in a couple of really cute ones that look pretty good on you!
Great idea to post outfits in your closet!
very helpful. where did you get the floral cardigan?
Omg YES! To the brown one!
Charcoal and brown but for sure at least steam. (I iron about once a year and I'm about 60 years old! Sometimes you just want a top that will get wrinkly fast.)
I actually loved the first shirt you tried on!
I feel like this is a new business :) I want you to moodboard my clothes now, and fill in what is missing
LOVE. Love this video. You have the best clothes. And I love this lifestyle content now and again :) your mood board idea is amazing. I am going to try that now.
Love the mood boarding outfits idea. Genius
🤩 yes it extra - in the best possible way
Love your clothes moodboard idea.
“I have a *lot* of sweaters… who knew?” Had me dying😂
First yes love your videos❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great closet declutter 👚👖
I love that idea!
Your clothes are always so cute. I would keep the brown shirt because it looks better than the charcoal. I go through my closet every year and if there is anything I haven’t worn in that year, I sell or donate.
My mum has wanted one of those pompom sweaters since she saw you wearing them a while ago and I just got her one 😁🖤 I’m excited! She is going to be stoked
Is the clothing mood board extra? I mean Cher from Clueless had a whole computer program, so I think it’s genius.
Keep the brown for sure! Charcoal also cute.
Love your outfits. Lucy and Yak do cute colourful dungarees/overalls
Oh and you should definitely keep both the charcoal and brown shirts
I think some of those cropped cardigans could pair with a few overalls if you open them! I should do the same with my closet to bring back to the rotation pieces that have been buried for too long while I look like I have a uniform when I don't! Inspiration! That's what I get from each and everyone of your videos!
Jumpsuit you can wear belts also
Keep the brown! Soo cute
Cool video! Love the pictures idea👏👏👏👏👏👏
Really going for the Cher Horowitz vibes with the mood board
OMG!!! The first time you wore the orange Ottoman Slouchy Tunic from FP, I wanted one. Very pricey but thanks to Afterpay I have 5…. My goal is to have 7. One for everyday of the week. Thanks for sharing your wardrobe.
This makes me what to do a massive sort out of my wardrobe now!
Thank you for the links, but no link or brand for the floral cardigan you wore at the end of the video? So many people are asking about it here ;)
Love all your posts! Since you asked. ... I'm hope you kept the brown top. It made your hair look wonderful ( not that it wasn't wonderful already) I just mean your skin tone changed and it was really nice... and your hair!!!
I wish I could be your best friend, I’ve been watching you for years and I love you and your whole team
I have that brown old navy shirt and it's my favorite top
This was great! Love the mood boards.
With the first blue top use fashion tape to keep it in place
