Using an adapter on a presta valve to fill a TON of air into the tire while doing a tubeless set up is a PAIN IN THE ASS. That schrader valve stem for tubeless is a god send ! THANK YOU !
I did my first tubeless conversion last week. I dry fit the tire, pumped it up with a floor pump and it set the bead. So I let the air out , bead held, and put the sealant thru the valve. I couldn’t believe how easy it was, I heard horror stories
Sounds crazy but works great . Spray some starter fluid ( like for Diesel engines) a short spray into the tire . Throw a match . It ignites . Blows the tire up and into the bead . Then fill quickly . The fire sucks up the air and deflates it . 1st time I saw that was the mechanic putting a backhoe tire on the rim . I used it ever since . Motorcycle tires , lawnmower tires etc .
GREAT JAY-OH-BEE Master MC... yeahh boy.. you got 'em . Gorilla tape; Stan's brand sealant and schraeder valve... you got it. excelent . Great info. Thank you for sharing .
A tip for converting non tubless rims to tubless is you double wrap the rim tape to get the extra width so you have a nice seal beetween the tire bead and the wheel
Wrap a tie down around tire circumference to force beads to tighten / move outwards. Spay soapy water generously around both beads and hit it with a medium blast from any compressor. My Ryobi 18v One Gallon tank works fab for this - this method is legit on every FAT or MTB tubeless conversion I've tried.
Schrader is much better than presta, very much universal and tougher, less problem especially when pumping air, in gas stations, no need for adaptor, great video very informative, stay safe. 👍
Did a ghetto with the ground control flak jacket. Just put more rim tape to thicken the bead area of the non tubeless rim. It will work, but is a tough job. Needed a lot of soap and water.
With car tires if you can’t get it seated you can use a ratchet strap or even some rope with a stick twisted in it to press in the center of the tire to force the sidewalls out so the bead seats. Seems like if you have a stiff enough sidewalk it should work with bikes as well.
I did almost the same thing to my pitch comp1x. I just cut out the valve from the inner tube and used the same tire on the wheel. But I think your way was an upgrade from what I did.
hi alfredo, u use the same tyre , ground control ? and fit well ? have any problem in this time with that tyre? i have a pitch to with that tyre ground control like the video.
@@manuelmtgful yeah same tire. I used gorilla tape to seal the holes of the spokes and then filled it with stans tire sealant. Then I used an air compressor to fill my tire. I also pulled the edges of the tire closer to the rim, so the bead can catch on the rim. And VUALÁ!!
The mounting of the Michelin tire was piece of cake. Try out org UST tires on an UST rim... I managed to break at least 5 pretty expensive tire levers and still the tire wasn't in correct place on the rim... UST was horrendous to mount but oh boy did it work wonders in the woods with super low pressure and you did not need to use any sealant at all. Even though my rear started to leak after 5 years.
Did this 3 years ago with stock Weinmann non-tubeless rims and wired WTB Vigilante 2.3s and Schrader valves. Worked like a charm but i could be better if I used legit sealant intended for bike use. I used the cheap sealants from local motorcycles shops that almost doesnt work LOL
Great video! what size mm Schrader valve did you use?because there is a few different sizes. I have a 20x4.0 rim for a fat stroke tire but don't know what MM valve size I need.

I did this - I tried gorilla tape and gorilla tape clear. Both tapes lasted about 2 months for me but then failed so ultimately I went with proper rim tape and that's lasted for much longer. IMO worth the hassle of using the wrong product.
6:18 You can actually get loose tires to seat but you just have to put the wheel down and focus on pumping as fast as you humanly can (might not want to show that on camera though).
I have a question I got a used mtb. All tubeless. The front tire is flat and when I checked there’s a lot of sealant dried up on the inside, resembles a “booger” texture. Can I add sealant over this?
Presta is way easier to fill up tire, with smaller pump and 1 gram plastic presta>schrader adapter would've fixed it ;) Yes, old air inside tubes always smell like fish, over 30y smelling bike stuff
That is so nice... Saw ur vid converting the Specialized to 1x8 thats nice also... Question... Can you make it 1x10?...or the rear hub can only use 8 speed cassette?... Thanks...
Nice tip.. i wonder if i can do this on my 2015 Pitch Sport.... can you tell me how wide are your tires? Mine are 2.4 in front and 2.2 on rear. I think that i will try to go tubeless. Of course, i don't have the original tires ( Ground control ) , i have a pair of Continental Mountain King.
Hmmm tube less .idk . I cut a old tube down the middle and inserted it between the tire and tube. I have hit a couple of jagged little rocks they use here to fill holes in the road and so far it's holding up . Worth thinking about though .
How do I know if my wheel is double wall? Also I have the same bike, specialized pitch 2019 and they told me I needed to have tubeless ready wheels and tires
I would not call it ghetto, my specialized pitch came with tubes that were threaded tight to rim, made for easy filling when pressure was low. When i went tubeless i used shrader valve stems, just easier and fit my pump i have mounted on frame.
Better sealant than Stans: 1 Part RV Antifreeze solution 1Part "Mold Builder" liquid latex 1 Part Slime tire sealant Make a gallon for less than quart of Stans. Won't dry out & form "Stanimals" - those dried latex boogers, lol...
Using an adapter on a presta valve to fill a TON of air into the tire while doing a tubeless set up is a PAIN IN THE ASS. That schrader valve stem for tubeless is a god send ! THANK YOU !
Love it! I've always hated Presta valves so I'm going to convert just to have the Schrader.
I did my first tubeless conversion last week. I dry fit the tire, pumped it up with a floor pump and it set the bead. So I let the air out , bead held, and put the sealant thru the valve. I couldn’t believe how easy it was, I heard horror stories
Very lucky! I gave up and bought a compressor on sale. But I got 3 bikes all tubeless
So far I haven't used my compressor on any tubeless stuff yet
i just had one of those horror stories last night. which carried into this morning. it mounted though
Sounds crazy but works great .

Jerzem Manuel yep I tell people that and they say I’m crazy.

There’s something so cool about a Schrader tubeless setup

How did it hold up ?
@@volcomchristo held up like a champ. Hard to remove the tire after a puncture though. Of all the luck a cow horn protruding from the dirt.

I don't think they should make a dad bod shirt in that size haha

That’s not ghetto tubeless. That’s legit tubeless
Nah it’s ghetto cause it’s gorilla tape and shrader
Ghetto is inner tube rim strips, gorilla tape, valves cut from tubes, etc
I love your channel dude.
Nice DIY erp...man, this vid made me go back and tinker on my old cannondale 29er.
You deserve one million subs
Cool setup, pang bakbakan na sa trails! 💪😎 very informative.

The fish smell is from ground up fish bones inside the tube, to stop the tube sticking together. That's why if you cut open a tube it seems dusty

Noice. Mines using presta valves and since I'm also a roadie I can use the old presta valve cores in case my others get damaged

Can u tell me on long term if this tubeless conversion holds the air? I have the same rims and I thought they are not tubeless ready...
Just has to be double walled thats basically how tlr wheels are

And pulling the tires out on both sides towards the beads

Most 8 speed freehubs can fit 8/9/10
Trust me I will shove an 11 speed cassette on it
You can fit 10 speed cassette in it
Greetings, hey, do you think the hub is compatible from 9 to 11sp but on a road bike?
I don’t think so my friend
Specialized really needs to make their ground control tires tr I have like two pairs from old bikes and I wish I could use them
Just bought a set of Specialized tires, ground control for the rear and fast trak for the front, both are 2bliss ready(as they put it)
Nice tip.. i wonder if i can do this on my 2015 Pitch Sport.... can you tell me how wide are your tires? Mine are 2.4 in front and 2.2 on rear. I think that i will try to go tubeless. Of course, i don't have the original tires ( Ground control ) , i have a pair of Continental Mountain King.
The only way to figure it out is to try it
i used an automotive schrader valve and worked perfectly, just need to cut some rubber
Im sure this is going to be on the pitch. What’s the max size tire can I fit in the rear? Can someone help me? Idol Mark?
you should have done this outside man :D lol your floors T_T
When the sealant dries you have to take 1 part of the tyre apart right?
I totally can relate to the fish smell of innertubes
you need an air compressor. bet that specialized would have mounted right up. never could have mounted my ust tire on my ust rim
Hmmm tube less .idk . I cut a old tube down the middle and inserted it between the tire and tube. I have hit a couple of jagged little rocks they use here to fill holes in the road and so far it's holding up . Worth thinking about though .

What tire model is that? I know it’s Michelin but I couldn’t find what the name was
Is there no schrader rim that is tubeless ready on the market?
Wondering what sealant smells like
I'm getting some care tire valves, also schrader,
Dude wtf you just demotivated me with that double wall rim stuff and I've been working on this for 2 days.
Send it dude
I think about weight that the tape you used it’s very heavy,
Thanks for your videos
Does it really guarantee kuya?
Will it work for any type of rims? As long as its double wall?
I have here a Mavic XM 119, I guess? 😅😅
Double wall ✔
Is it just a normal Shrader valve use from cars or is there a specific one for a bike?

Nice procedure.
Yeah i used the Gorilla tape before they work good bro👍
Good to know, I'm tired of replacing inner tubes, and don't feel like paying $60+ for each tubeless tire.
okay na sana pero nong nagsabi ka na yung presta nozzle bka madali ng mga kahoy sa trail, bakit wala kbang cap nyan,
Did you leave it at 60psi?or air out a bit after install??nice video by the way I'm gonna try this aswell
I let it sit on 60psi all night then I set it down to 21psi
Have you try tubuless rim tape from aliexpress?
Yes innertubes stink worth the old air 🤣😍🇬🇧
can't find any stan's tubeless schrader valve here in the Philippines.
Try mO sa Quiapo Erp, or as Lazada shoppee
The worst is a fat tire bike. Nightmare to set up tubless if the rim profile is boxed vs V shaped. My 80mm Kona wheels are a pain to set up
My specialized pitch came tubeless ready
Wazzup erp from Philippines again 😂🤣
Bagong upload medyo madagaldagal naghintay pero ok lng

i have the same bike... the stock rims r tubeless ready
Gorilla tape makes a 1" wide tape. Cheap at Wally $3. I used to see a 3/4" at ACE True Value but last time I checked they no longer carry it.
Tubeless rims, or regular clincher hook? Have you ridden it yet?
So far no leaks Ihavent tried it on the trails tho, just btw
