If I wanted to try and make my own Diablo Blanco, would I need a RAPTOR and mix it with a blizzard het trempor eclipse? I already have a RAPTOR but I'm wondering if I should invest in a blizzard, or just get two diablo blancos
shine light into the geckos eyes for just a sec if it reflects red to my knowledge its eclipse if it shows black it could be the blizzard gene causing the eye mutation and its not eclipse and would just be a blazing blizzard (albino + blizzard)
Shed is like dark grey gecko will get darker....Super snow Albino Patternless might still have a 2 tone look to it, most blizzards are 1 solid tone (white, pink, grey), Murphys patternless tend to have their bodies one color and their tails another (most of the time)
I used to breed these guys when i was in high school back in the late 90's. I just got a jungle snow male and am thinking about picking up a diablo blanco female to breed him to and see if i can get a red eyed snow out of the pairing.
I really like these videos because I've been trying to make a worksheet at home to better define different traits. There is not very clear definitions that you can just Google. Even stuff like Halloween mask would be great to learn more about because there's just no clear what is what
Ok thank you im going to do more, have you checked out leopardgeckowiki.com in the mean time this site can offer some clues....Halloween mask to my knoweledge is a combo between "Bold" and "Jungle" which both those lines came from Afghanicus/Tangerine/Hyper Yellow geckos...I think a lot of "bold" comes from afghanicus, because when you look at the pattern of afghancisus its so dark and wonky, same as hallowween mask, bold stripe, etc
PS: I would name her Priscilla - Queen of the Desert! LOL. Or, Blanche... Bianca... Spectra... Kaleesi or Daenerys, if you're into Game of Thrones (like me! lol)... Leucothea (Greek Goddess of Foam, I think - she rescued Odysseus from drowning in Homer's Odyssey)... Khione (Kee-Oh-Nay), Goddess of snow... Sekhmet, goddess of heat/deserts/hot stuff... good luck! :)

Any care tips specifically for Diablo blancos? My Diablo blanco is pretty sensitive to light. He’s really active at dark but when his 2% uvb lights hits on, he’ll be hiding all day and never saw him expose himself to get uvb. He even has a DHP for the heat. Should I totally get rid of the light?
Yeah i would get rid of UVB and make sure u change his calcium over to Calcium with d3...I mean the uvb is very low level, so im sure hes fine, but leos really dont need them i never used UVB and eveyrthing is fine, but up to ya :D No other specific care requiremnts except yeah try not to shine direct light in their eyes which it sounds like you are on top of already! :D

Thank you! So I dont have much experience with SS Raptors, I would imagine you could still see some pattern coming thru? But DB Raptors should have no pattern at all just pasty pinkish white

Oh nice! Pied is new to me too, just picking up a little momentum in the hobby now, i dont have any yet but hopefully one day! all i know is that it's Super Snow and Eclipse and the Eclipse gene "spontaneously" acts differently each time it passes down to babies and when mixed with snow or super snow it gives the geckos white noses, tail tips and legs, and in some more rare cases, starts to eat away more and more at the pattern, i def gotta learn more myself tho too! :P

@@jpslizards Pied is simply a rare occurance, it does not happen with all super snow eclipses, but some will start to develop reduced pigmentation, when you line breed these ones with each other after many many years you start to get pretty pied looking geckos, i actually dont know much more than that at this moment, I wonder if you take an extremely pied animal and breed it to another eclipse, if the babies will automatically come out pied or partially pied, or not at all, or both, cuz i havent seen many people talk about that aspect yet....u can ask Darling Geckos, i heard they created the morph and have that info.
These are beautiful! Curious: do you handle your baby geckos from the start? Or, just after a certain point? I want to do it 'right'... but my experience has been that they tend to just throw their tails if I mess with them too much - i.e., AT ALL. :/ So, I'm not sure at what size I should start handling so they will be good pets. I just bought a pair of tangerines that come from Pacific Gecko tangerine lines... can't wait til I can breed them! (just had to share that, b/c I'm so freakin' excited! lol)
good stuff! Once they are 3-4 weeks old u can "open hand handle them" this means letting them crawl from hand to hand like a treadmill...to avoid tail dropping, try as hard as you can to open hand handle and never "grab" handle until they are older and more trusting :D Honestly as a breeder, we never handle our animals except once a week when they get pulled out of their tubs for cleaning/food/water...I always try to open hand handle when doing this, and since im not new at this, they all seem calm to me but thats jsut cuz ive learned to "flow" with their movements lolll, sounds funny but the more u handle u just learn how they move when they zip and zag, but every once in a while they still get the best outta me and jump outta my hand....but leos should be fairly easy to calm down with daily/weekly handling, just use open handed technique, slow movements, and no grabbing for geckos that are 3 months or younger until the gecko trusts u :)
I always handle all mine while babies n grow them up, they get use too you! Just handle them right I’ve never had a tail fall off,if you got them together then I’d say there’s a chance..my opinion
my i add not all diablo blanco who have red solid eyes are automatic diablo blanco ,it still depends on their parents. i have a seen alot visual db but they're just blazing blizzard like i said it depends in the pairing u made.
Thank would be interesting, because ive never seen a gecko with red eyes that was not eclipse as well, a normal blazing blizzard ive only ever seen with black eyes or grey eyes because without the eclipse gene, red doesnt show, to my knowledge? I'd love to hear more if youve had other experiences.

Blizzard? Yeh i think blizzard is, personally i dont work with it a lot, I have a few, but most new people in the hobby gravitate towards it first, because of that i think it will always hold weight, similar to Blue eye'd Lucy's in ball pythons.
How to identified super snow and snow diablo blanco, i buy from someone with label "diablo blanco possible snow diablo blanco possible super snow diablo blanco" ?? And when i read parents data is super snow diablo blanco x snow diablo blanco
based off those parents it has one copy of snow for sure and then to find out if it has 2 copies youll have to breed it if all the babies come out snow, then its a super snow, if only half, or less, than is only a snow :D
