Thank you Wildes for bringing up the Josh Allen fake slide
@@battletested2934 it wasn't a fake slide, clearly he was changing direction
I was just waiting when Nick said he was super impressed for the backhanded insult to land.
I already saw him say it on Cowherd so I wasn't anticipating anything else lol
Yea, that shtick he does is getting old. Nobody's falling for that anymore.
@@richardkalin8184 I mean it’s meant to be clearly transparent so you know what he’s doing and he was right
It wasn’t an insult? He was genuinely impressed with the Bills. He’s just asking for equal treatment. He said he was impressed with both
Nick spent more time talking about the chiefs in this segment than the bills.
It's funny how Nick alternates between being Mr Eye Test or Mr analytics, depending on what allows him to praise the Chiefs.
That's his job!
To be fair, just about every talking head does this
You must be new here, lol..
I mean, every analyst goes between the two, but they were clearly biased, and he was right
I watched Nick off and on for years. He is a clown show
Reminder. Nick said Ravens wouldn’t make the playoffs, The Jags would be in the AFC championship game, called the Bills season over with, Chiefs would go 20-0, I’m sure I’m missing a lot of other misses but the point is do not buy stock in Nicks opinions
Literally nothing he says is ever right. When he picks a team to win, bet on the opposing team. Works pretty well for me
This comment should be pinned as top comment. The most stupid and ludicrous predictions.
Didn't he correctly predict the last season and the superbowl? Not saying he's perfect but he doesn't always get it wrong.
@@jerbear88win he just picks the chiefs to win it all every year. That’s like picking the patriots to go to the SB every year with Tom Brady. More often than not you’re gonna be right. It’s not much of a take
Dont forget Dak and the Cowboys being legitimate contenders and Trevor Lawrence being the truth. Has he gotten anything right? 😂
I've watched Allen's TD run 20 times and I still don't see a "fake slide." I see a juke move.
and predictably the one person at the table that had the most understanding of Allen's running style didn't think it was.
I mean I never seen a player make a juke move by putting his shoulders behind his feet. It’s usually the opposite when you try juking someone but fair is fair he made a great play
Of course... They know it too. They're smearing Allen. Yes. That's right. Whether it's a decision made highhhh up the mainstream sports media ladder or whether it's just individual bias against Allen by the entire staff, "coincidentally", either way it's insulting to our intelligence and is a form of gaslighting, having us who know better questioning our own eyes and sanity. Outrageous. This show should be canceled. It's etertainment not fair, balanced and accurate analysis.
@@Briana-a13 lol yeah and since he's a QB like even slowing down is going to raise alarms from the defence not to hit.
Bottom line is defenders are in a very tough spot because the rules protect QBs so much
He wasn't faking a slide, he was always going to slide, but he definitely put an extra move on to goad the defender into tackling BEFORE he slid. And he intentionally throws his head back ANY time there's any remote semblance of contact. Dude is the flopper supreme of the NFL
I appreciate Wildes brining up the sliding issue. We have a problem with how running QBs are protected outside of the pocket. I don’t think he was faking a slide
It looked more like an uncoordinated juke😂
@@samuelwallace2782I agree. There’s nothing illegal about a guy decelerating mid-stride. He didn’t change his posture as if he was about to slide. He’s allowed to slow down and evade to throw defenders off
People that watch Josh run know the guy isn't exactly agile. He's 6'5 260 lbs and isn't shifty like a Lamar or Kyler.
The only evasive moves he has are his stutter step/slow juke, or slow down & pump fake. He's way more likely to lower his shoulder, stiff arm, hurdle or try something stupid than break your ankles being all elusive.
You could go multiple games in a row without seeing Allen even attempt to slide, despite how often he runs. The play Wildes showed from college isn't anywhere close to Allen's run.
@@corey2232 My guy pump faked 8 yards down field. PUT THAT BALL AWAY JOSH! lol The 'old man pump fake' as JT O'Sullivan calls it.
It was 100% a fake slide or at best Allen was baiting the defender to get a flag!!
The take at 1:38 I 100% agree with. As a bandwagon Bills fan this season since I had Allen in both my fantasy leagues, its been an absolute roller coaster. The team has the ability to beat any team in the league without it being surprising, but then its also not surprising at this point when they look terrible. Thats what makes them so exciting, I literally go into every game with anxiety because I have no idea what bills team I'm gonna get.
I felt the same way for my Chiefs this year 😂 Both teams can dominate this game or just flop. It just depends on which Bills team and which Chiefs team shows up. May the best team win! Hope it's another shootout till the end
Man please real football has no time for that fantasy ish. Its called injury and trying to click with new parts. They hate josh allen except for coach and their views bare that out.
KC at Buffalo is the game all First Things First fans deserved lol
Please buffalo win
I love the chiefs, but thanks to Nick I am always cheering for the opposite team to beat their az.
The fact you have to beg them to win is very twlling
I'm admittedly a huge Tom Brady hater, so I'd like to see Mahomes succeed. But Nick has made me want Buffalo to win soooooo bad. I also just truly do not believe in this chiefs team. The defensive egg is coming. It always does in Jan.
@@joshchavez8614how is it a beg? The KC fans are doing the same thing trying to Buffalo n knowing mahomes hasn’t been playing better than Allen this postseason! Allen is definitely gonna play his off rn
The Bills biggest issue now is injuries. It's unbelievable how decimated that defense is...
CB1 - Tre White IR
CB1b - Rasul Douglas (traded for to replace White)
CB2 - Christian Benford
CB3 - Taron Johnson
SLB - Matt Milano IR
MLB - Terrel Bernard
MLB2 - Baylon Specter (Replacing Bernard)
WLB - Tyrel Dodson
LDT - Jordan Phillips IR
That's every starting CB & every starting LB!
Wtf is going on? If the Chiefs offense is going to look good against anyone, it's whatever unit the Bills scrape together off the streets this week 😅
Also, because the bills game got delayed, Chiefs have a couple days of extra rest to prepare for the game..
@@KyleBogdanMusic Yeah... that can't help either. It's just insane that so many starters across 2 entire units are completely depleted.
It was bad enough when just Milano & White were out, but then you get 2 people to step up in their place & play extremely well, only to get injured themselves? All teams want to have depth, but there's a limit.
That's how I felt about the Rams after the Lions game. LA had so many injuries in that game even if they won they probably would have gotten destroyed in their next game because so many guys got injured. The Lions defense was brutal.
@@corey2232shoutout to AJ Klein who canceled his vacation to come play
Yikes. Allen is going to have to play a perfect game if the Bills are going to have a chance
Nick's heel schtick against Josh and the Bills is getting annoying at this point.
Blame the rest of the media for dickriding them so much despite never having won anything. Some people were saying they're better than the Ravens earlier this year, like we don't have TV and can watch the games😂😂😂
@@Boredmillenial I don't remember anyone saying Bills are better than the Ravens.
Yeah, beating a 9-8 team on their third string QB is VERY impressive. Sure, it is.
Coach's ability to troll and mock Nick is next level 😂😂
If someone doesn’t stop Josh Allen running, the Bills won’t lose this playoff run
Coming from a steeler fan just slide & throw your head back like he did Allen’s a pro at getting calls just don’t throw picks and it’s gravy think bills definitely coming out of AFC unless Lamar can do something about it but two scrambling QBs duking it out gonna be wild
The chiefs won't stop him running, but they'll stop him passing which will effectively limit their offense. They won't hold buffalo to 7 like they did miami, but they can absolutely hold them to between 17 and 21
The playoff run ends against KC
@@GorbombZombayclear roughing the passer dove directly down at him

Thank you Wildes for bringing up the Josh Allen FAKE slide
A reminder:
Nick picked: Browns, Cowboys, Steelers, and Rams as winners this weekend. He went 2-4.
They all stunk except Wildes who was forced into choosing Houston lmao.
Given that Nick will of course pick against Buffalo again this week and he's been wrong 6 weeks in a row I like where this trend is going.
Rams covered the spread so he was 3-3
@@willandizzleThe ones I cited were from his Super Wildcard picks, and he absolutely picked the Rams to win.
That last point Nick makes is the key. If I'm a coach, I'm telling my guys that if the QB takes off past the line of scrimmage, especially in the first half, light him up. Take the 15 yards if need be, but don't let them get away with that cute stuff.
There's two things here...
1, if you hit a sliding QB, it SHOULD be a personal foul. The hit late in the game came as Allen's slide was stopping. There was no question of if he was going to stop, or going to slide, or if he had just started it. He was at the end of the slide. There are times it doesn't get called. That will happen. But that should be erring on the side of a penalty.
2, If the league wants to penalize a "fake slide" they have to be very clear about what constitutes that, because at no point, other than slowing down and stutter stepping, did Allen look like he was going to slide. Pickett's fake slide in college was obvious. If it was a penalty to fake slide, or fake going out of bounds, it could overturn a MASSIVE play, and you are basically saying "the refs can decide what they think the player was intending to do there" and that's hugely problematic.
@zamboughnuts Yeah, I'm not arguing either call (or non-call) yesterday. I'm just saying that if I'm coaching Pittsburgh, I'm telling them to not pull up on Allen unless it's clear that he's already down in a slide. If the the guy pulled up on Allen in the midst of that 52 yarder because he thought he was going to slide (which I'm not sure if that was why), then he shouldn't have. In that situation, first half, the defensive player should er on the slide of lighting the QB up (even if the refs should er on the side of protecting the QB).
@@chrisclark2747 Granted, the LB who pulled up on Allen is 6 inches shorter than him and 60+ lbs lighter. I'm sure there's also an element of not wanting to get trucked or stiff-armed considering what Allen has done to DTs in the past.
@zamboughnuts Well, I don't think he hesitated because he thought he was going to get trucked either. I think he just got out maneuvered.
@@zamboughnuts "Other than slowing down and stutter stepping"
Okay, but what else do you want to see other than slowing down, stutter stepping and putting your feet in front of your hips to indicate a slide? Him actually going down and sliding and then trying to get back up? like what else do you want to see?
At the end of the day the defenders are put in a very difficult position. I agree with OP, down the field, hit the dude. Try not to make it late, but don't let up. If you get 15, you get 15. And if he gets hurt because he was tackled, like so many other RBs/WRs/TEs are every week. So be it. This is football.
so allen isnt allowed to juke? there were no fake slides.
Nope and there was never an attempt to slide. But anything Allen does he is torn apart by the media.
Hot take: qb shouldn’t be allowed to juke. Determine whether they are trying to slide, trying to slide awkwardly, or making a move adds too much additional pressure to an already handicapped defensive unit
@@jordanmorris5194 If that happens then Lamar is done.
Missing TJ Watt makes a big difference. Can’t brush over that fact LOL
Playing practice squad players several of them makes a difference too. Stop using that excuse injuries happen and the bills were more depleted than the Steelers.
Injuries piling up. I hope Buffalo can beat KC but they definitely need to be more healthy to challenge baltimore.
Baltimore? Who's saying Baltimore is beating Stroud and Houston? Lol 😂 look up Lamar's big game playoff record. It ain't pretty. I can definitely see a very possible Houston at Bills AFC Championship game happening.
You can tell me all you want, but the Dolphins depleted defense gave much more effort than the Steelers D in the first half.
Pressure is on Patrick. Chiefs got 2 days more rest. They have a great and healthy defense. Special teams advantage. Rice is showing up, Kelce is a phenom. Andy Reid schemes up open stuff all day. Bills defense is devastated with injuries. If Mahomes doesn’t look GREAT, i don’t wanna hear about him being the best in the league right now.
Mahomes has zero excuse not to pick apart this completely destroyed defense. If Miami was "depleted," the Bills' unit is scraping the bottom of the barrel. That being said, I think Mahomes will easily pick apart this group. There's just no healthy DB or LB left that can pose any threat.
@@corey2232 Miami's defense was way worse. Buffalo still has great pass rushing depth, which in my opinion, is the most important aspect to a defense come playoff time. Miami was running a nursing home pass rush with Bruce Irvin and Justin Houston lol.
I would absolutely blanket Travis Kelce and leave Douglas on Rice and dare literally anyone else to beat me. If they can do it, fine, but I’m not letting Kelce and Rice do it

If the Chiefs win next Sunday I bet this crew is going to say the Chiefs only won because the Bills were injured. Lets face it the Bills and the Chiefs know each other and are pretty close to each other in talent.
What’s Nick gonna say if the Chiefs lose? The Bills are suddenly the best team in the league after shitting on them all year?
While I don’t think josh faked a slide in the Pittsburgh game, I think the fake slides/sideline fakes are definitely an issue and need to be addressed, along with the late hits on a sliding qb due to momentum. I think a flag for a late hit is pretty lame when clearly there’s no way for the player to stop himself, and I think when a ref throws a flag there needs to be a review of the play before they continue with the call. The officiating this season has been absolutely horrible in pretty much every game this year
Mainly because of ambiguous rules though. The refs are getting the blame here but it's really the fault of the NFL trying to mandate player safety while actually making the game more dangerous and unfair.
I get Nick can get some annoyed with his Chiefs glazing, but Mangini wasn’t impressed by the Chiefs yet was impressed with the Bills in a smaller margin of victory because their star quarterback… played like a star quarterback?? mf you’re SUPPOSED to play up to your status. that’s like being impressed a fry cook can make fries
"I don't believe in momentum with Buffalo".... Meanwhile, they've won the past 6 games in a row with their backs against the wall
Did you watch the rest of his explanation? It’s because you don’t know if Josh is going to be consistently amazing or meltdown. You can’t say that’s not true given their post season runs the past few years.
@@TrueRomance9324 TDs to 4 ints in the playoffs but yeah whatever floats your boat dude. He is another beast in the playoffs. You just don’t want to give him credit.
@@TrueRomance93 Where your wrong is Josh Allen has never melted down in the playoffs. just look up the stats, there available for everyone to see. he's been a different player in the playoffs, almost no turnovers but still dominant and he is actually the best postseason QB statistically albeit on a somewhat small sample size.

HE DIDNT FAKE SLIDE LOL
I'm glad we're finally talking about this problem. Defenders are afraid to hit quarterbacks because the risk of a 15 yard penalty is so high. There should be more leniency for defenders who are already going in for a hit before the QB starts sliding, and all personal fouls need to be reviewable. It's also worth mentioning these rules aren't even doing what they were intended to do, we've had a massive number of QB injuries this season despite the absurd rules in place to try to protect them.
crazy is all it takes is allen to do something for it to be talked about. no one talked about it with mahomes no on talks about it with dak. but allen does it OH MY GOD WATCH OUT. the media clearly hates him.
Allen was clearly sliding when Miles Jack hit him late, albeit it was like maybe 1 sec late, it was still a penalty.
People are scared to hit Allen bro
Yeah i feel like its being abused at this point. Mahomes does it on sideline runs often.
@@KainteekaMahomes has been abusing it but the refs protect him at all costs. He got a love tap in the Dolphins game and it got called a penalty which should have been offset by a holding call. In the Packers game even though the Packers won. Mahomes was doing his usual of pretending to run out of bounds and then tip toeing close to the side line and they hit him in bounds and got a penalty. But it isn’t talked about when Mahomes does it. Allen made no indication of trying to slide on the TD run. They can’t take him down either. And the other play it was a clear slide and he still led with his helmet and hit him as he was sliding.
the league's only way to fix the potential "fake slide" would be to make it that if a QB crosses the LOS he is to be treated as anyone else that would run the ball. There shouldn't be a late hit penalty unless its obvious the dude is already down and you can just make contact to end the play. Allowing defenders to light QB's up if the run the ball will help even the playing field and make it entertaining.
it's an easy change too. if you want to run then run but you are now a RB and have to deal with the consequences of that decision.
KC @ Bills... Nick Wright gonna be in his bag this week 😂
"Mahomes flirts with the sideline" @7:10 might be the closest thing to an objective statement about Mahomes I've seen Nick make.
The Bills defense has been patched together with bubble gum and tape, but yet the guys coming in have made plays, even Eliam made a play. If a few key guys come in, think we have enough to beat the chiefs. Won’t be easy, for either team
Thanks Wildes for pointing out Josh’s fake slide. Egregious.

You do realize that consistently gaining that home field advantage comes from getting multiple regular season wins on the road, right? Meanwhile, the Bills have lost in humiliating fashion in their own home when the Bengals controlled the divisional round game from start to finish last year.

QBs are over protected as if they aren’t football players. At the end of the day, if you are running with the football, you should be defended the same way any other player running with the football would be defended regardless of position. Late hits should still be penalized.

I think there should be a rule that if a qb gets with 3 or 5 yards of an appointment player then he is fair game for any sort of hit
Even if the qb initiates for a slide/go our of bounds

Not impressed by the Chiefs win at all. Miami is a team built to play in warm weather specifically. Putting them in the cold is like taking a fish out of water. And not to mention Miami was missing TONS of defensive players Most notably Bradley Chubb and Xavien Howard.
@@persistentlypathetic6820the Steelers were missing TJ Watt. I don’t know why people aren’t impressed by KC. Mahomes literally had the most passing yards in a cold game in nfl history and he could’ve had more if kelce and me ole didn’t drop passes. Josh Allen has more weapons then mahomes too. I thought they both looked good against inferior competition.
Buffalo will choke when they play real teams. I'll be back for this comment
@@richardmyers7847what’s a real team then? If KC is a real team they have beat them this year and are 3-1 in their last 4 against them.
@@persistentlypathetic6820people and Nick will always get on their knees for the Chiefs but hold other standards for the rest of the league.
Steelers should fire Tomlin and hire Belichick.
If your comparing picket run to Allen run it’s honestly an ignorant take he wasn’t sliding when the closest defender was 10 yards away
It’s the Steelers bro, really?
Miami’s defense was depleted but the Steelers weren’t?
Which is ironic cuz I was gonna say how unimpressive the Chiefs were against a team that Allen beats with his hands tied behind his back. Beating Miami in -5 degree weather is just meh…
Is it illegal to stop and start while running? I've never heard that.
