  • Starting the Cordoba after sitting since Halloween.
    Watch for updates, now starts a little easier with
    a carb swap and correct air cleaner [no more lean-
    burn system as that gave up the ghost and killed the
    whole car for 6 months]

    You have to crank the engine longer than 3 seconds. It’s carbureted, not fuel injected. I could have got that to fire on the first crank...

    You’ve got to crank the engine longer than 2 seconds. Some vehicles have a long crank like this Chrysler. I could have got that to fire on the first crank...

    You don't crank long enough to build up fuel pressure. It's not fuel injected so it builds fuel pressure while it's cranking. Try cranking it longer.

      Starter protection So that it doesn't overheat that's why

      It’s not “starter protection.” It doesn’t need several attempts to get it to start, but setting the choke and it should be able to fire on the first try.

    Original fuel pump quit in 2019 on way to work, rock auto had a carter oem one, been fine ever since( knock on wood )
