MELODIC MUSE by Andy Timmons
FREEDOM OF NAVIGATION
Andy Timmons continues his exploration into the horizontal approach - moving up and down a single string - to craft improvised solos. The next logical step is to combine those positional shifts that the single-string approach presents with string crossing, striving to attain a sense of “freedom of navigation” and an ear for musicality.

Really good lesson! Learn from the masters. Andy is such a melodic player. Thanks for sharing this.
Love your playing and spirit, Andy! Rock-on my brother!
You and Jeff Beck, Andy, are masters at this melodic approach. I do plan on stealing shamelessly😁
Awesome stuff, Andy. Thanks!
Thank you 🙏
This is a bit challenging for intermediate level players but will take you to another level if you work with it for a while. I like how conclude so positively and say that you know we can get this information down with some effort. My favorite idea from this lesson is the idea to write a chord progression in order to allow certain melodies to pop out. I hear Lydian over the Cmaj7 at 1:54 (which would be E aeolian as you say). Lastly the flat 9 resolving to the root over the Bdom7 is so cool. It sounds awesome to pre-bend the the root to the flat 9 and the resolve to the root. I had never thought to do that before this lesson. Thanks, Andy
