I believe that piece you questioned at the beginning is so you can connect the second head this set comes with, to the previously released aragorn body.
I've been waiting for this review for months, and I think the figure looks great; the sword, the elven knife, the chain mail, the pleather armour jacket.... All except the headsculpt. Why Asmus? Why? 😢. If Maxnut, as you say, or somebody like him makes another new and decent Aragorn headsculpt I' ll buy this figure, for sure. But if there is no more options than this one... I really sorry Asmus, but I can't. If I don't see Viggo, and in this case it's quite difficult even with imagination, I don't spend my money. What a pitty! 😪
This figure actually ain't bad. The sculpt isn't perfect, but the rest is solid. I have their crown series Gandalf on pre-order, so I'm really hoping that turns out well. You getting any of the prime 1 statues?
It’s not bad it’s not good either, typical asmus. For me it’s a must have for others maybe not so much. I really hope Gandalf turns out like their prototype. No I can’t afford those prime 1 statues, both money and space wise.
I Love Lord of the rings, Asmus have got better over the years. I have been offered this deluxe set....but after watching your video ( thank you by the way). It will be a pass for me. I have the ACI Aragon and STILL the best out there. Asmus do have a big problem with Aragon ( and the hobbits). To me even the diorama is not great, something that can easily be made up. So happy for you to now have the set you want. Great video by the way.

The headsculpt with the normal release is Definitely not as bad as I thought, I’ll definitely be saving myself around 150$ ordering the deluxe from SS (would be about 340$ shipped), gonna get the standard from off the racks, will go nicely with my LOTR shelf!!
Yeah, I bought this despite headsculpt having too short hair and not the greatest face. But that's the only Aragorn I will be having in some time. And I like the company. They actually care about the feedback. I'm trying to look at their figures not as exact representation of the actor but the character him/herself. And they are able to pull it off.
Nice review! I ordered mine from Sideshow day 1 so hopefully it's coming soon. Do you think Asmus will make a Sauron figure? I personally think they will because how could you have the license and not make the big bad villain, and one of the most iconic villains of all time.
mate ;) just for information ,"die cast " is not a matarial nor is it a word for metal,its a very cheap production method to cast metal alloys (mostly zinc) with hight pressure in forms.Collectors always say "this is die cast" but that makes absolut no sense at all.also asmus dont use the die cast process for the most of thier metal parts, die cast alloys are very thick and grey unpainted with the often use zinc alloys.smart modus end,so pls just say its metal.
@@jt6761 the price is not bad unless you want the diorama (which is great btw). If you are doing it for the headsculpt. It’s not that great of an improvement. Body and tailoring is good though. I say don’t do it and save it for something else.
For me it's a big no for this figure. Just for the headsculpt. I have frodo slim, sam slim , thorin, gimli and bilbo. Headsculpt for these are better and it's the more important for me

Me too, Aragorn is slim picking right now. And in the future when they release a better head, I might just buy a separate headsculpt.

In my opinion, Asmus has butchered all the Aragorn figures. ACI had the best one to me. Hopefully this Gandalf one comes through!
