I think the commentator didn't interpret well what happened during the break, at 6:50 Defar is not trying to work together with Jeptoo, but instead she is going to get on her shoulder to prove that she can cover that surge. At 6:40 you can clearly see Defar turning back and looking at Dibaba almost to say "let's go with her!". Defar and Dibaba are both Ethiopian so they are always going to team up against the Kenyans.
