The one main difference between Swing Jazz and Proto Punk is the situation where you get the buff. In this regard, Proto Punk has the advantage because the uptime is almost permanent. However, once the enemy is stunned you obviously cannot trigger it until they wake up. The opposite scenario is true for Swing Jazz. So, in a way, if you play with both 4 piece-sets, you might actually have permanent DMG boost all game. Which I personally think is fun stuff. If you parry an enemy straight into stunning them, you will get a total 30% dmg boost from both sets triggering simultaneously. And what has the most Daze multiplier in the game? Right, Defensive Assists. So getting that 30% dmg boost is not as hard as it seems since the opportunity is not as infrequent as it seems. The amount of times I've parried with Seth into a Stun into a chain attack sequence into Lucy is telling enough how well both disc sets play into each other
i cant remember because they all die to jane before stun. That said, i dont have impact on seth (will probably put current seth's set onto lucy and get impact with proto punk instead)
@@MefoWho Elite mobs generally take two Assaults to kill. You'll find that Seth's Daze multiplier on top of the bonus Daze DMG on Assault is capable of stunning Elite mobs on the tougher contents (Shiyu and Withering Garden). In a situation where you're fighting a bunch of normal mobs, you usually want to make a Defensive assist with Seth to transfer a shield to Jane. That Defensive assist is generally strong enough to fill up 70-80% of their Daze counter. You're usually starting basic attacks with Jane before parrying an attack, so that's a guaranteed stun
Playing with 2 unit with swing jazz and proto punk is somewhat underwhelming. This means that your stun unit isn't running shockstar disco This method only works if you play hypercarry dps or 2 dps and 1 support
@@veezerrscharnhorst i'm suggesting this idea with Jane in mind because she is currently that one Hypercarry that doesn't really care about Stuns. or if she does form a squad that care about stuns, it isn't that much of an issue. Ideally, you only would care about stuns towards normal mobs to get Jane's passion full through a chain attack. On Elites and Bosses, the more time you spend on another Agent besides Jane, the less effective she becomes. So you're not using a Stun agent to stun the enemy. you're using it to close the gap between the Daze Jane accumulated during and after her field time. By the time you're finished with Jane, you're prolly already around half of the boss's daze meter (unless its Nineveh). Even then, unless you're using Qinyi, it's preferable to have two support-oriented agents with Jane. Also, I just have to point this out. Not having your stunner run Shockstar doesn't make running Swing Jazz and Protopunk together underwhelming. Shockstar is not as high in value as you portray it to be. In a lot of cases, running 4-piece Shockstar is a bit of a Daze overkill in the current state of the game. Unless we get more modes where there are daze penalties (like in Withering Garden), then Shockstar's value isn't all that high atm
I would be curious to see the comparison between 4p Proto Punk and 4p Freedom Blues (on Caesar) for a Jane + Caesar setup; if the Anomaly Buildup RES would out perform the 15% damage increase or vice versa? Or perhaps the difference may end up being rather negligible or maybe more situational?
Okie hear me out, i have been running 4 pcs Thunder metal and 2 Freedom blue on Grace with weeping gemini for a while without problems. Grace does good damage after shock and enemy dies quickly But I have been experimenting and give her 4 pcs Freedom Blue and 2 pcs Proto Punk which add up to 60 extra AP instead of the usual 30. And may I say, even not fully max out all of the disc, compared to my usual maxed out disc, enemy still cleared faster
So Caesar's shield EX is gonna be a parry that consumes an assist point. Does that count as a defensive assist for proccing the disk set? If so, she would have 100% uptime on it for herself on the field, and be able to swap into anyone she wants and give the buff freely/into stunned rotations.
does the wearer have to trigger the chain attack to get Swing Jazz's buff? They may be worded differently, but nothing in Swing Jazz's description implies that it MUST be the wearer to me. I thought any team member could trigger it
I think is wearer trigger effect make more sense. Maybe u can test yourself in vr, before chain attack stats and after chain attack / or Screen record the dmg before and after
The question I have going forward with Ben (M6) is this. I have 4 piece Shockstar Disco and 2 piece Soul Rock. The Soul Rock is staying because of how defense is tied to his core passive. I plan on doing 4 piece Proto Punk with slots 4 and 5 being defense. Should I keep my Impact buff on slot 6 or just go for another defense slot?
Why not both? It's a 600 ATK buff along with Ben's buffs on a Soldier 11. With the right build, you're looking at insanely strong 11 with a 90%+ crit rate.
Would it really be worth running proto punk over dedicated sets to stunners like shockstar disco though? I'd imagine that you want to stun with the stun characters.
The way I use stunners, they best work with a ATK character so getting them up time should be done as quickly as possible. Not building Impact on them does seem like an odd choice.
A month late but whatever, for Lyceon and Qingyi, I don't see proto overtaking Shockstar 4 piece, both of them use their basic attacks too much to sacrifice a 20% daze bonus in turn for a dmg boost since the 2 set is functionally useless for the two of them. Then the question becomes for Koleda and Anby, which the former is really dependent on your playstyle. If you mainfield her a lot and only pull out your ATK unit whenever the enemy gets stunned then the shockstar disco will still be better, both for her atks and her (frankly overpowered) dodge attack, but if you just swap for her skill and swap back then proto will win out, and Anby doesn't really benefit THAT much from shockstar's 4 piece, so going 4 piece proto and 2 shockstar seems like the new best option for her.
Great content. Those one or two word subtitles are really annoying... I don't quite understand the purpose in these videos? For people without sound? Incredibly distracting

0:00 Proto Punk
6:53 Chaos Jazz
the ben gif at the beginning sparks joy
I hope they keep this trend of “specific sets to sell the new chars but also versatile enough for others”, it’s a healthy approach for the game IMO

Do you think Chaos Jazz 4pc works on Rina? Considering she throws out her boos with Ex then goes off field with a swap?

Doe sthe freedom blue's debuff works on that EX special that triggered it? or only after?
Would burnice with 4pc chaos jazz and grace with 4pc freedom blues, work as a team comp? Or just have burnice with 4pc freedom blue?
When you are doing caesar's CC showcase can you do an ellen team?
I also petition for Corin, Lucy, and Caesar🙏
That should be one of Ellen's new best, or at least comfy team. Ellen can finally do her whole 6 stack basic attack without dodging out.
guess im not using lucy anymore. Ben's 15% dam proto + 16% crit looks real nice with this

So we got a limited electric anomaly S rank coming by the looks of that set, wonder who that could be 😭
Yanagi , I wonder if she will be on or off field, I bet they make her off field then miyabi on field anomoly.
Chaos Jazz is a good 2pc if you still lack AP to hit the breakpoints
