Thanks guys. Can't promote you enough. Like I say above in the video. I purchased this kit. I have dealt with so many different companies over the my 66 years and I can count on one hand the companies that give the same level of customer service as CYC Motor and Electrifybike.com. Which makes me want to promote you to all of my friends. Your two companies have the same drive. Give the customer the best experience and support possible. That's how I feel doing business with both of you. Same with Box Components. All three relatively small companies putting customers first. So refreshing when you consider small companies are being wiped out by the economy and certain policies. I can't imagine getting any kind of response from Bosch or Shimano or Bafang to any of my support emails or suggestions, let alone someone that answers the phone. Wait...it is you on the phone...right? Or is Adam an AI. Maybe this is too good to be true. This could be a global conspiracy to get us to think we are dealing with real people in real-time when in reality it is a huge multi-national conglomerate masquerading as a cool small business... Hmmm....have to think about this...where did I put my tinfoil hat...
I can't wait for you to get yours either. We can take my electrifybike.com folding solar panel and inverter package and head up into the mountains for some gold panning. Distance won't matter. We can charge on the road now. Or in the mountains. I've got my gold panning kit ready to go. Oh, wait, I meant to say I have your gold panning kit ready to go. But I did buy a really rugged folding shovel for digging in the streams. And it all fits in my trailer for hauling on my Bandit.
Thanks for this. I think you mean display not controller. If I understand things correctly, the controller is the box that sits below your motor on the stealth (X6 controller, I think…). The display is connected to the controller. If I am wrong, happy to be corrected.
After a few weeks of riding with these new lights I am really glad to have the pair. One light gives you close coverage and the second light increases the amount of coverage further on down the road which is important if you are riding fast. I typically use the "low" yellow beams. And when an oncoming car refuses to turn down their high beams I switch to high beams. Instant reaction...oncoming vehicle quickly switches to low beams.
Thanks for the video - definitely seems quieter than the previous gen. Do you know if its possible to swap a larger chaining on it though? 50T possibly? I would think a 38t chainring only really gets you up to 50kmh while pedalling
Hi Moa. Have to check with CYC on this one. I'll ask Jon in the interview I am arranging with CYC Motor to discuss all of the updates and new tech. You can also email support and ask what the largest chain ring is you can use. Bigger is not always better. I did put a larger chain ring on my Gen 1 but found it didn't quite fit. It rubbed on the casing. I think that was a 48 tooth narrow/wide chain ring.
@@TotalHealthMagazine Thank you for your answer. can you open the settings menu after 15 seconds after you have started the engine. and can you also set the kmh on the display or is it only possible via the app. I ask because I live in Germany and I don't want the police to notice that the speed is over 25 km/h in race mode.
@@fidan-trading That's a very good question. My son also lives in Germany and that is important in Europe, especially in France where they have ridiculous fines. You are correct in that at the moment you can only change the motor setup between Street and Race at startup by going into the menu. The new app is still in beta. I found a couple of issues with it on my old Galaxy S8 and have been in talks with the team at CYC. I suggested the ability to choose your region or even country on the display so that the motor automatically programs itself for those regions. Cyc is working on the issues for sure. The motor comes setup by default to Euro 250 watt standards and the motor cuts out at 25KPH in street mode. I'm waiting for the app update so I can use my phone to change the settings to Canadian standards or US standards when I ride across the border. I suggest you contact customer support at CYC and add your voice/opinion on options you would like incorporated into the app and/or display.
Hi from the UK! Great video, would you be kind enough to share the spec of your battery? I'm looking at ordering this motor but battery options are confusing! Thanks
You bet. It is a 21Ah/52V version. Electrifybike just came out with a 24Ah/52V version. That will be my next purchase. It's a solid investment. Make sure you get a smart charger so you can trickle charge most often to lengthen the life of the battery but be able to go up to 4 or 5 amps for quick charging when necessary.
Thanks for sharing. I'm sold and converted from BBSHD. Are the headlights integrated into the bike battery so there's no need for additional batteries?
Yes, headlights are hardwired with this setup. Much, much better. The more I ride the more I love the CYC headlights. Just remember to use a locking washer when you install them.
A little late responding. Factors include battery voltage and controller. On my GEN 1 Stealth with a 52V battery I hit 74kph with a tail wind on the flats. It is going to depend on your gearing too. I get about 60kph top speed on my GEN 3 Stealth. Of course you have options to increase speed by getting the higher voltage battery and controller.
It's a lot quieter. There is still a pitched hum but way quieter. I should note it sounds louder on the recording because of how the mic picks up the sound. Watch the video. I'm on the bike recording with a lavier microphone on a gopro. Here the sound for yourself.
Thanks for your reply! Of course, I had watched and listened to the video before posting my question. It does sound a bit quieter but there are so many variables that it's impossible to quantify the difference without measuring the decibels in a controlled environment. Perhaps Jon from CYC Motor will get a chance to do that at some point.
Thanks sharing. I'm thinking about getting one of these. Just one question. Is there any breaking from the motor when your not pedaling or on the throttle? Thank you.
I think you mean if you are coasting is there any friction from the motor. Yes, there is, but it is very little. It is an amazing ride whether you are pedaling or not.
The kit is still performing as advertised. I now have a combination of almost 20k on both the Gen 1 and Gen 3 Stealths. I did have a problem with the controller on the GEN 3 at one point but CYC immediately replaced it. Support is fantastic. And you can actually converse with real people when necessary.
I waited quite a while, at least a couple of months, because I wanted to get the Gen 3 as soon as it was available. For the new torque sensor and especially the upgraded crankset with the new ISIS splined spindle. It really is a game changer and worth the wait..
Why they call it stealth as it’s so loud! Some say it’s quieter than the earlier generation….. so that must have been well loud. Yep I’m jealous of where you live but that noise is the equivalent of littering in the city. Just saying
Good vid, CYC make very nice motors, much better than the standard Bafang variety. I'm looking at getting the Photon to put on my mountain bike
Beautiful ride John!

I have the CYC PRO GEN 2. It’s fantastic. Actually got quieter as I put more miles on it.

Nice I have a bafang HD and I’m very satisfied iD think one of those lights would be good.

Waiting since late October for mine from Electrify Bike.
I wonder when TotalHealth Magazine ordered theirs (assuming it wasn't provided?)

Nice video, do have to restart the motor to start the race mode after you chose it ? Or does it work without restart
Nope. You can easily switch and go at any time on the display.

No idea why you put controler on top. It looks extremely ugly with those all cables exposed!
I was experimenting with the extension cables. If I keep it there I will get cable wrap. Besides, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. 😎
