I am from Reagan Memorial Baptist Girls Secondary School, Yaba-Lagos. I leant 4 things today: 1. Have a mastery of your subject to enhance your own confidence. 2. Know how to teach your subject effectively for it to lead to a positive change in students behaviour. 3. Know your learners well enough as to know how to teach them efficiently using the appropriate grammar. 4. There are different types of learners: The visual learners The Tactile learners and The verbal learners.
This has been a profound eye-opener for me. I've come to realize that being a competent teacher goes beyond merely mastering the subject matter. It's equally important to possess the professionalism required to employ effective teaching methods and to identify and cater to the unique needs and differences of individual students. Thank you, Sir , for this insightful session.
Good evening, great educators. I'd like to appreciate our lead facilitator for a wonderful and insightful outing earlier today. I couldn't agree less with him on the place of subject mastery, strong pedagogical skills and a very good understanding of the learner as it relates to teaching competence. From experience, I've come to understand that the challenge of incompetence in the teaching profession is largely attributed to lack of emotional intelligence and lack of proper understanding of such concepts like differentiated instruction. Looking forward to an expository discussion on these two areas in subsequent classes by the facilitator. Thank you once again.
Teacher Adebare is a teacher of teachers. He makes teaching simple as abc, as butter and bread stuff, and engages you by giving examples that will make you understand the topic and be a part of you. Well done, Sir, and thank you for always wanting the best for the education industry. I pray you will not miss your reward in this world and in the world to come in the mighty name of Jesus. I enjoyed every bit of the lesson. Thank you, Sir.
Today's class was highly inspiring and educating as it opened my eyes afresh to the traits of a competent teacher. A teacher in class has to multitask to achieve one aim which is passing what he knows to the learners.
Apart from knowing the subject matter, a competent teacher must know the right method to use, above all a competent teacher must know the kind of learner he is teaching . This is what I will never forget. I really appreciate the facilitator for the morning session. 1:36

Knowledge of subject matter (what to teach) 2. Knowledge of delivery method (how to teach) 3. Knowledge of the learners (who to teach) There are students/pupils who are *Visual learners* that is, they may not learn until they see what is being taught Some are *Tactile learners*/ *Kinaesthetic learners* that is they may not learn until they touch or practise what is being taught Some are *verbal learners*that is they learn when the class is an interactive one (question being asked) and what have you.
