good lord . the last unicorn made me remember this song forever. when they started playing this … the only other time i ever heard it besides the last unicorn .. and just in my head … and they performed it so well, and in the middle of such a great episode of orville
I loved The Last Unicorn as a kid and I'm also a big fan of The Oriville. I remember watching the episode of Orville with this song and not making the connection until I bought The Last Unicorn on Blu-Ray. Once I heard it, I was like, I recognize this song! Retroactive memories, to coin a phrase.
The same thing happened to me, I am a fan of Leighton and I was looking for covers done by her, when I heard the song I shared it with my husband and he told me about the Orville episode, he loved the TV show, and I kept thinking that I had heard it previously. When I read that it was part of the OST of "The Last Unicorn" I remembered that it was a movie that my younger brother loved and that's where my memory of it came from. Now it is part of my memories, my husband and my brother left earlier. Beautiful song in Leighton's voice
Leighton Meester is an absolute master at misdirection. Took me several watch-throughs to realize that she was able to switch outfits mid-song without the audience realizing.
I'm a bit late. Just heard this song watching The Orville. I must say I'm surprise that the vuew and comment is so little. No matter, I love this song .
The original is from The Last Unicorn, written by Jimmy Webb, sung by Jeff Bridges and Mia Farrow. Such an obscure reference I was absolutely stunned when i heard it in The Orville.
이강한: Agreed! If you watched the TV show from which I extracted the song, you would ache for sure. He went back in time to meet her, and you can guess how it ended.
This was a really good episode. It was sad, but it was happy sad.
Kevin Murker: Yep!
Then they punch you in the gut all over again in season 3.
@@ArchonRamie Yep! Getting to "you did the right thing" was merciless.
Just watched that episode in S3 and don't know what to feel. I'm in a bit of a shock...
this was honestly the best episode in all 2 season and this song makes it more better

Such a beautiful rendition of a song from one of my family childhood movies. Your voices compliment each other.

Such a beautiful love song. Arguably one of the most accurate portrayals of love in its pure simplicity
One of the best episodes in which I cried several times...
Scott Grimes harmonies are so on point
Beautiful, sweet and perfect ❤

Good catch! I suppose such a thing is easy in a starship simulation room.😨
It's two different simulations of the same event, at two different points of the episode, stitched together.
Yeah, it's two different scenes that were stitched into the full song.

Just finished watching The Orville episode and how dare you make me feel things! This is lovely!
Me too!
Season 3 is on Disney plus!
Just wait until they meet again... 😭😭😭
Watching this clip and bawling right now. It's 9am on a sunny Saturday morning. Dafuq is wrong with me ? Dafuq is wrong with them ?
Why can’t I find this song on your Spotify or pandora. Seriously I would listen to it all day.
Art Garfunkel sings it, but I would like a longer version
This is from The Orville S02E11 that artist is the actress called Leighton Meester (as per the title ;-) )

She sang this song beautifully
Such a wonderful.performance.
Loved this version on The Orville. I was trying to locate the original after watching the episode, but happy I landed here instead.

Beautiful song and singer.
Great Rendition of a Jimmy Webb song, I remember an Art Garfunkel version
That fact that Gordon sings this song at a party in season 3 shows he won’t forget her ❤
The last unicorn is my favorite movie. And THIS.... made me so happy. She is much better than Jeff Bridges. ♥️
beautiful
Those two really look good together. It almost aches.
