You should show the whole court so we can see the drop and what it looks like when it lands
Exactly.
Yeah ! I want to see where the ball drop?
I agree
Honestly, great feedback! It’s really difficult to capture such a wide area with my current lens but could be a good time to invest or get creative in how to show this! Thanks for the input everyone!
@@Allthingspickleball your videos are great, just an observation as we watched this one.
Good teaching skill,thanks
Well done, good effort.
My footnote, because I enjoy receiving information, is the music helpful in volume or at all?!
I was here to learn from you and you helped. Maybe just for me but the music distracted.
For what it’s worth - I really liked the instruction and camera work. It’s clear to follow and very well demonstrated. Makes me wonder why I never thought of hitting a drop shot with top spin before especially if the goal is keeping it low.
One thing that may help is to add some cues to make sure the paddle is below the ball and to move your body in unison with the paddle ie. bend at the knees to get lower than the ball and rise up through contact.
You demonstrate it in the video, I just found this to be a great visualization as I am practicing top spin.
Would you ever try a drop shot with side spin?
love the video. no nonsense, no filler, just practical tips--all good ones. agree it would have been nice to see where the balls were landing, but not easy to show without losing close up of contact point. i also like hitting a fast drive drop that is similar but just more aggressive
Need to work the backhand into the slinky drill.
YES! The slinky drill is great for any type of drop shot or transition zone shot practice!
Excellent instruction. Thanks for doing this!
Love that you're teaching the sport. Keep up the good work :)
Good detailed explanation - thank you!👍👍
Great!!! Thanks!
The shot well explained and video gives a great view of how the shot should be hit.
Awesome content. Great explanation
Thank you
Was wondering what model paddle you are using...thanks for helping
Great tip! Thank you!
Thanks so much for watching! Means a lot!!!!
Love this!
Thanks so much Diane!
Problem with this video is that we don't get to see the trajectory of the ball It would be particularly helpful to see how a topspin drop moves vs a drop hit without topspin
Well done!
Thanks for the support! Means a lot!
"Slinky Drill." Good name -- and useful for resets, drops, everything.
Would like to see the whole court.
This is a profoundly cogent explanation of top spin generation. I have subscribed please mention what grip you are using. This is an important tool for those willing to practice . Please mention or show your grip, thanks.
If you don't mind me chiming in, normally the eastern or semi western grip is used. I've tried the continental grip but found the eastern grip easier to topspin.
Damn that shoulder vein. That shoulder has hit a lot of pickleballs
HAHAHAH- I laughed hard at this 😂 I know, that vein is WILD.
@@Allthingspickleball Being new to your channel, I didn't want to say anything! 🤭
At about the 6:30 mark, you reference using weight transfer. So far, so good. But while you are talking about the weight transfer, the camera shows you loading your weight onto your dominant (back) foot (again, so far, so good) but then you are simply lifting your left foot off the ground each time you hit the shot. Just suggesting you align the narrative with the action here.
Looks like hitting off the back foot
Awesome!!!👍🤠🇺🇸
Thx Hunt! We miss you! Tell everyone hi for us!!!
@@Allthingspickleball ❤️
Yes, start showing the whole court really took away from the video. Actually, it was Hard to watch. He gave a decent amount information but it’s hard to see the final result I would suggest to redo it.
Please do this video with the other side of the court also
This channel bouta grow like wildfire. Ever thought of repurposing your content for Facebook native reels or YT? Anyways keep it up love the value u deliver
Wow- this means a lot to hear and is so encouraging! I do a little bit on Facebook but I honestly should repurpose and try to do more.
Thanks for the input and the suggestion! Means a lot to have your support 🙏🏽
@@Allthingspickleball no such thing as should :) just an fyi (that u already know) being much of pickleball population is older and on Facebook. Do as u please! You might’ve read a few of my informational posts in pickleball clinic hahaha
This is a great drill. I can even use this drill for speed up volley. On another note, that shoulder vein is too juicy.
I really don't like the explanation of where to contact on the ball. If your paddle is facing 45 degrees up into the air, the ball will go way too high, especially if you're behind the baseline for a 3rd shot. That is not the correct angle. Maybe more like 25-35 degrees
It looks like gravity is having more of a effect than that negligible topspin. You got to spin that ball much faster to get topspin!
Her cephalic vein is poppin
Great video, but we can tell that your generation grew up with digital clocks 😂 you have no idea which numbers go where on a clock face.
HAHAHAHAHAH i laughed so hard at this 😂
You don't want your drop shot to jump up, which makes it much easier to attack. Back spin will make the ball stay low and skid...
Yup
You explain in the beginning to use wrist to brush up on the ball at contact ("from 6 o'clock to 1 or 12 o'clock), BUT when you show yourself doing the shots, you us no wrist (there is no movement of your paddle around the axis of 6 to 12 o'clock, not even to 8 o'clock). Rather, you use all shoulder and body motion to bring the paddle up. In other words, what you tell people to do, you do not do. I will not discuss that your feet are too far from the kitchen line.
Agree. Something odd about 5:00 to 1-2:00. Should it be 5:00 to 11:00, as in south to north west? Looks like she is finishing at left shoulder
How do you execute this when the 2 nd shot is coming in fast. That’s why these drills don’t help. 😊
Every shot is situational, ya doofus. There is no single shot that you hit on every incoming ball. This helps build your arsenal of available shots, and you deploy it when appropriate. Sheesh.
I would say drills always help as long as your drilling the most effective technique, it’s all about building myelin myelin myelin
Is she spoken for?
She is married.
This woman looks like a 3.0. 🤭
What’s with your eyes?
Drills are overrated. All those practice shots the ball was coming so slow. It would be more game like if they were sending you different and faster speeds because that’s what you are going to see in a game.
Sorry. This video has no credibility. It's like showing "the BEST DRIVE EVER" but it turns out all the balls are going out. Without seeing where these incredible drops are landing, there is no way to know....also it's highly doubtful that she can generate enough spin or top spin, at that speed, so the ball takes off after the bounce. Basically without showing the entire court, this is just click bait, with a slick title.
Nah Incorrect. I enjoyed watching this video. And learned from it. Maybe give it one more watch, and change your mindset. Cuz the current one you're operating from is tough to be successful with.
