  • Inspired by Adam Savage’s soldering station (by Tested), I show my version made with plywood to finally get a station that has the main tools that I use for soldering.
    Main parts:
    - Hakko FX888D amzn.to/3h3gUwj
    - Desoldering Iron amzn.to/2Uacivt
    - Heat gun amzn.to/3y3DUBd
    - Welding Blanket amzn.to/3ycRYZj
    - Capricorn Tubing amzn.to/3ycSaI1

Nice compact "vertical" design, saves desk space and neat black finish. 👍
I have learned a lot from, I would like to see you upload more often🙂

Excellent project. The only change I would make is to the solder - I would just put that in the top tray with the other small parts.

The only issue I have with the design is the close proximity of the soldering iron/desoldering gun and hot air as when you're replacing either of the three (especially the Hot Air and Desoldering Gun) into their respective holders I can see some potential of scorching the plastic housings.

Maybe, yeah. Not problem so far, though. And if it happens, I don't really mind. You could do a bigger one to prevent that, but then it would be bulky. The beauty of all this is that you can build it the way it fit your needs

Not a fan of putting HOT tools (Hot Air Gun/Soldering Iron) in a wooden enclosure.

I thought the same. That's why I put the non-flammable felt inside. And I tested it, and it really works (it will not burn). Not ideal situation, but I think it's better than having everything in a bare table/desk that could also get on fire or damage something around.
