Is a Digital Dollar Coming? Some Financial Experts Warn It Could be Instrument of Government Control

- More and more central banks around the world are in the early stages of creating digital currencies. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell told the House Financial Services Committee in March that the Fed had already begun testing a digital dollar.
Powell told the House Financial Services Committee, "We're not at the stage of making any real decisions. What we're doing is experimenting in kind of early-stage experimentation. How would this work? Does it work? What's the best technology? What's the most efficient really at an early stage on? But we're making progress on sort of technological issues."
Just like paper dollars, a Central Bank Digital Currency of CBDC would be issued by the Federal Reserve. Those pushing for it say it would have several advantages over physical money. They say it could be used to fight inflation because the Fed would have more direct control over the money supply. It could speed up transaction payments and help fight money laundering.

Things are strange right now. The US dollar is becoming less valuable because of inflation, but it's getting stronger compared to other currencies and things like gold and property. People are turning to the dollar because they think it's safer. I'm worried about my retirement savings of about $420,000 losing value because of high inflation. Where else can we keep our money?
Personally, I would say have a mentor. Not sure where you will get an experience one, but if your knowledge of the market is limited, it seems like a good bet.
Well I recommend you make a diversification plan because it's been harder to build a good financial portfolio since COVID. This bank crisis is so far from being over. Anyone who has been around for longer than 12years, knows a credit crisis isn’t over in two weeks. It makes me laugh seeing folks thinking this was all over so quickly. We are seeing a credit contraction that is gonna lead to a major contraction.

As a citizen, I have a right to be able to store my currency in another safe spot other than something FDIC approved(AKA my SAFE and my MATTRESS). Jim Cramer mentioned there are still great opportunities to make a killing and I also watched a news emphasizing on what possible strategies expert investors apply in making millions amidst crisis. I was in WallGreens last year. There was a note on the door that said "our system is down, cash only". people were lined up at the ATM machine, one woman even went to her bank to withdraw cash. I thought to myself if we lived in a 100% cashless society these people couldn't get their meds. I had cash on me so I was fine

Money is already essentially digital. I never have any cash always use a card. People need to stop acting like this system is based on cash. If everyone went to the bank and closed their accounts. Probably about 3% of the money owed by banks would be available for withdrawal.
