  • In this video we uncover the deepest secrets of ninjutsu and explore the gokuhiden of one of the most famous ninja scrolls called the Shoninki!
    .
The Shoninki was written in 1681 by Natori Masatake and is considered one of the most fundamental historical text ever written on the ninja!
    .
True Path of the Ninja (the book I used for his video) is a translation of the Shoninki and was written by Antony Cummins of Natori Ryu! If you would like to buy a copy of this book, click here: amzn.to/41h3XU8
    .
This lesson is directly for those training in the traditional Japanese martial arts and self-defense techniques of the ninja and samurai, such as ninjutsu (ninpo) and bujutsu (budo).

I believe from what he's talking about is to basically have an understanding of your surroundings & life. Not to overthink things but use your training to just naturally flow through.

What I take from it is to meditate deeply on things with an open mind and it will expand your understanding and awareness. Thank you for the great video Soke Anshu. 🙂

It's like walking up to a doorway. Then choosing to go through it, with an open mind.
Looking around the area, and taking in all that can be seen.
If you are walking along a path, keep an eye on what is around you, and note what everyone is doing.

Using your imagination might pertain to thinking outside the box when it comes to the material presented that one is learning, the answer to a study related question might not be available in a clear context, so one might have to use their imagination to arrive at the answer to said question. Or simply you can't approach this subject of learning with only one way or pattern of thinking.

I think I understand Soke. With an open mind, you can learn whatever you want to know. Just as a closed mouth can't be fed. A closed mind can't learn.

I'm probably completely wrong, but i feel he maybe talking about finding the balance between focused work and working hard giving dedication and commitment, and then allowing the mind to be open, free, and letting it wonder and play. In doing this, all the hard work will be repaid and come to you when you least expect it. Thanks for the video/s.

I’ve heard of a paradoxical gateless gate before, that all humans are inherently enlightened but our attachments prevent us from realizing it. He certainly gave some insight for getting there anyway

I think I understand. There were a few things in there. 1) traditional learning of martial arts as good as eclectic learning, that will keep your mind flexible and open. When the mind is open, wisdom follows. When the mind is fixed, in one way... you learn less.
