I've had 3 NWS pliers for about 10 years. Bought a couple more a few years back. No complaints at all.
So Knipex still the best! Thanks for info I was thinking about getting a pair of these.
Bought a few NWS tools down the years mainly side cutters and you're right really liked the handles always feel good in your hand but they never stood up to heavy duty work I've always ended up bringing them home for the home toolbox!
Good ole channellock is what you need. Knipex if you wanna get fancy.

I haven’t seen that with my NWS, but it is not supposed to ever happen.
Poor heat treatment if it happens to numerous pliers then it is a lack of quality control. So, this could be just a fluke it's hard to determine.
Aren't they a lifetime warranty? I would just send them back and get a new pair to see if there are lemons or not but I suspect they are not lemons and they're all pretty much the same. This way you can know also how good or bad their warranty service really is it'll likely take a bit of time to because of, Germany thing.,

This is a real bummer! NWS makes the absolute BEST electrical cutters (better than Knipex, IMHO), but apparently Knipex is still King of pipefitting/waterpump pliers!
I've seen reviews where the adjustment button gets snagged, allowing it to free adjust back and forth. Did you find this issue as well?
Nope not once I think they fixed that by adding the ridges on the back of the button
