    I want your old duece gear! That old duece gear has stood the test of time. It's reliable and can be used for other purposes besides combat. That makes for good scout packs, survival harness, day hike rigs, and is extremely versatile.

    I made an almost identical setup when I decided to update my gear and ended up with some extra stuff laying around only big difference is I have a sso crumbs bag on the back part above the butt pack because I was trying to make something similar to SMERSH kit i also use a GI canteen with the cup. I really like the ability to wear this stuff over slick plate carriers

    I agree with your updated battle belt. I updated the clips to plastic zip ties...way better and they don't dig in. I still advocate for an old s/steel canteen and cup. Properly set up, it allows you to boil your water...plastics don't. Semper Fi

    I called Tactical Taylor and had them put the carrying handle on the butt pack, also had the side pouches removed and molly put in there place. I still have two sets of LBE gear, formerly a 19 Delt Cavalry Scout.

    You should check out the Russian smersh stuff. The newest version is molle, like your setup, but I prefer the older style that uses a loop system. I think you’d like the butt pack; has the handle, buckles and molle webbing.

    I want your chicken butchering set up. ; )
    in regards to your modern main back pouch, I am surprised it doesn't have that strap. It can't be a cost savings thing, so why would the strap be missing?
    1st amendment: Last year when I took Scarf in for a grooming (3 hours of washing, nail clipping, etc) it was 30$ and I tipped the gal 10$. This year it was 55$! (and because so, I only tipped 5$ ) And since he's come back he's Mr. Scratch & Nibble & Lick, regular law firm =( The gals there were just as sweet as last time. Not that I need another bandana for a dog named Scarf, but last time he came home with ridiculously tiny leash and a bandana that said, "Handsome Boy", which we did not get this time. +25$ seems awfully steep for 1 year.
    2nd amendment: N. Carolina went back to masks in stores, which I won't do, but I think it's mighty strange that my old co-workers will ask if I need a mask while I'm open carrying a double headed battle ax (on my belt, in a sheath =) . No one says anything about that, or my big bowie. I'm not intimidating, I'm just carrying, granted, they all know me. Just weird.
    Cherish is the new love, Be Well.
    P.S. You opened that bottle & I smelled Arizona Sarsaparilla, power of aroma memory!

    • @renaissancemarinetv3536
      @renaissancemarinetv3536  3 года назад

      we would wear our medium alice pack over the deuce gear. not the most comfortable thing but comfort wasnt the first consideration. there were times, on long marches, where we would drape our deuce gear over the back of our pack and secure it. obviously that would be in an admin and not a tactical march.

    • @voraciousblackstn
      @voraciousblackstn 3 года назад

      Also remember that ol Alice is an external frame system. That means it only contacts your back at the top of the pack and on the kidney pad. Otherwise, there is a fairly large gap between your back and the pack. Deuce gear (TA50 for us Army guys) isn't as bulky as you might think.
      The shoulder contact is fine, the kidney pad usually sits on top of the butt pack when both are worn. Most would either take the LBE off and wrap around rucksack, or just attach the buttpack (the only real interference) straight onto the rucksack.

      @@renaissancemarinetv3536, I have two questions. One. Are those T3 hydro bottle carriers? Two. Would you be interested in a pack that rode higher than the medium Alice but had a little bit less volume? It would ride higher on the back above the belt and pouches.

      ALICE and MOLLE aren't incompatable. Look up MOLLE ALICE adapters. Usually used to attach ALICE gear to MOLLE, but it can be used for the reverse also. Basically one side is large ALICE strap, other side has PALS.
