  • With one shot in mind, I head to the end of Brixham Breakwater to grab a single exposure with my MAVEN 18-STOP NEUTRAL DENSITY FILTER, It is A bright sunny day so hoping for plenty of fast-moving clouds and not too many people.

    Great video Seb, it's amazing how the timer jumps up from 15 stop at nearly 3 mins to 20+ mins at 18 stop. This 3 stops make a massive difference. The science makes me smile too, how people can walk in and out of the photo but not enough light comes off them to be seen in the pic.

      Cheers Pete, I know , crazy as , 3 stops seems like nothing on its own, the science blows my mind a little bit, I think it’s magic mate 😂

    Good work. When you start using filters over 10 stops the math gets funky depending on what you use to get the correct exposure. I did it manually and checked my work with the NiSi app and LEE ProGlass app. Correct exposure is 21m 20sec. Manual method and LEE app you get this. Using NiSi you get 21m 50sec. Like I said once you go beyond 10 stops it's really hard to get the correct exposure especially if you use calculators. Because camera math is not the same and people math.

      Cheers Mike, and to add problems to the exposure is the sun dissapearing behind a cloud for 2 minutes 😩🤣

      @@SebastianBevanPhotography Yes, I have had that happen to me as well. Clouds are your enemy when doing extremely long exposures. I try to keep things at around 2 min. I too have the Maven 18 Stop. But I mainly bought it recently to take photographs of the total solar eclipse we had in the states April 8th 2024.

      @@MikeNovakPhoto I must admit, most of my long exposure work is much shorter than this, how did the MAVEN 18 stop work with the eclipse, get any good shots

    Brill Seb, that's one hell of a filter, oh yes awesome final result and just loved the black and white image. As with that amount of time did you get any hot spots in the RAW file?

    • @SebastianBevanPhotography
      @SebastianBevanPhotography  6 месяцев назад +1

      Cheers Jim, yep, crackin filter, well happy with it, I ended up with about 20 hot spots, very small and cloned out in no time 😃👍
