I have a disaster I bought 2 rabbits last year and I put them in the big back yard and I let them dig and make their very big house, I noticed the mother take a lot of food inside her house.. she is doing that all day! I gave her so so much food because I knew there is something and I didn't want to let my animals hungry today I saw a baby rabbit peaking from the underground house, so I got excited and took my phone trying to put the phone inside the underground hole to take pictures and I saw at least 50 baby rabbits in different ages, their father fucked every female he saw ( which they are his daughters) I'm now so confused .. how the hell to let them go outside because I can't keep all of them. It is like a rabbits army
The cages are too small and have the wrong flooring. Wire flooring will start to hurt the bunnies. You need to give them more space and put stuff on the bottom of the cage to help keep them healthy Edit: It’s been 3 years... y’all are still replying to this comment?
Yeah, you are right but unfortunately, they are breeders whose main goal is selling rabbits. So, in this case normal bedding would be actually more dangerous to the rabbits. In the breeding facilities, they hold a shit load of animals and little staff. Wood shaving bedding requires frequent cleaning routines, especially when there are multiple animals in a cage, and by that, I mean like daily cleaning. Otherwise, amonia from waste will build up starting to evaporate and it can cause very, very serious health issues for rabbits (there are other issues too such as bacteria, fly larva and molt). In large breeding facilities frequent cleaning is near impossible, so cages with metal floors that don't collect waste are preferred. This cage type is actually used out of concern for rabbits health and well-being.
Some rabbits need to be on wire because some are impossible to litter train. Not all rabbits can use a litter box and the ones who can't need to on wire, otherwise they would be sitting in their own waste. If you are "so" concerned then give them a mat to sit on. Sheesh

Wire cage bottoms will certainly give the rabbit "hock sore" on their back feet and get infected...it is quite difficult to heal this type of sore. They need indoor/outdoor carpet covered by a large bathtowel with separate drinking and feeding bowls...not a drip bottle with a stainless steel tube which is wrong for 2 reasons -1 - it doesn't allow enough water for the rabbit, since it has to lick a stainless steel ball to get a few drops of water. 2 - it grows bacteria in the bottle and the tube, making the rabbit very sick.
Great advice, but you are keeping the rabbits in a very bad condition, it’s cruel keeping rabbits in that small cage and the wire cage is bad for their feet, in some cases it can lead to bleeding. So put them in a better condition.

I've been breeding show rabbits for 14 years and have NEVER had a sick rabbit or a rabbit with any sort of foot or leg issues or sores. So how about you go make some slime like a good little kid and leave the adults to their business.

Why using gloves to handle the newborns? Is it to avoid our smell on them? I do not use gloves... I wash my hands and arms (without soap) and use alcohol 70% before handling them. Is that ok?
